A lot of scaffolding surrounded the hotel and the roof garden (which attracted me to choosing this particular hotel) was a building site. They hope to have it available in June 06. Because of the reconstruction work we had to move from Floor 5 to Floor 3 for our last 2 nights. Other than these inconveniences, everything was fine. Complimentary Asti Spumante and chocs given at Easter. Staff were most helpful, particularly the lady in charge who was a mine of useful information on Rome.

staff always called taxies without charging for phone calls.
...
Good value for Rome at high season of Easter. Close to large public park and for those who enjoy walking a good choice as one could walk to any tourist attraction within an hour.

We, and another friend, were disappointed to find that the fridge didn't hold the contents advertised, our fridge didn't work properly either. However, we got back our 10 euros. Very disappointed with breakfast, only jam and honey for the bread, could have been a larger variety of foodstuffs? But I am used to a Scandinavnian breakfast so for a continental breakfast I supose it was OK. No lobby hotel lounge to speak of, could have been better for the price paid. Otherwise clean rooms, friendly service. A lot of street Very noise, but of course, maybe Rome, as New York, never sleeps?

Staff were helpful and the rooms were ready early - very appreciated!
...
The rooms were very well cleaned every day, and the maid always arranged our nightwear nicely on the bed - a nice touch! Also the complimentary bottle of wine and biscuits was lovely!
...
The road outside was quite noisy during the night even with the windows closed.
...
Comfortable accomodation within easy reach of the centre of Rome and the main attractions, such as Trevi, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Good value for money.

We arrived at the hotel at about 11.00, lunchtime. We were told that we couldn't check in before 12. That was no problem for us, but we would have preferred if the room was ready for us. I could have informed the hotel in advance about our early arrival, and I will probably do that the next time....

We were quite satisfied by the hotel Veneto all in all, but disappointed by the fact that the top-floor outside restaurant/breakfast-place was not open. We had looked forward to eat breakfast open air, while enjoying the view of Rome. The hotel should not promote their top-floor restaurant on their web-site, when this information is far from being correct.

The restaurant, as mentioned above....

A nice place to stay, comfortable rooms, quiet neigbourhood, very close to the center, with air-condition...a must in the summertime
