At first, when we were moved to the Suites across the street (Via Firenze) we weren't auite sure what to expect but ended up quite pleased.
...
The small street market that was a couple of blocks away was worth visiting
...
The Hotel Sonya Suites was an excellent value with a perfect location, very comfortable, clean rooms and bathrooms, a most helpful and attentive staff and even wondeful breakfast experience.

Small public area, clean and welcoming, fabulour old elevator,up to rooms.

Directly opposite the Rome Opera House.

Lots of good eating places nearby.

Hotel in an area that is busy but NOT noisy.
...
The hotel Sonya was well placed for the Rail Way Station, and easy to travel to sights around Rome, being near to public transport ect.

Flight arrived late, after the Airport shuttle was 'shut down' and had to take an expensive ride to the hotel. We were gouged.
...
It was a very good hotel in a very good location.

Was promised a room with a view of the Opera House but got a view of a narrow alley.
...
Our double room was very small. The smallest room I've ever been in, but I guess not unusual for Rome. The pictures on the site make it seem that all the rooms are spacious and of good size. The breakfast room was also very cramped, but the food was adequate. Fresh fruit was nice.
...
Got vague directions from desk on catching a bus to Ciampino airport. Had a difficult time finding where to buy a ticket for the bus and could not find the bus stop. Ended up having to take a 30E taxi to the airport. Make sure you ask for precise directions. This airport is not easily accessible.

Our room was not ready as we arrived quite
early. The receptionist gave us a map and
ideas about how to see most of Rome in 1
day. They kept our luggage for us and we
went off site seeing. Wonderful!
...
Our room was very large and clean. Lovely
hotel.
...
The breakfast buffet was great. I had no
idea at check in that there was a dining
area in the back. Crisp white table cloths
and a very pleasant waiter. The food was
very good and the atmosphere pleasant

It was fine. The room was not ready as we were quite early but our bags were handled and there was a restroom available, etc. so it was great.
...
it was better, more friendly than I expected from the somewhat impersonal website and other guidebook and online reviews. The breakfast was very good even in contrast to the other breakfasts we had over 2 weeks in Italy including Florence, Tuscany and Umbria. We appreciated our bags being taken ahead of us to the room across the way.
...
no - it was all very smooth.
...
The breakfast room/bar with the new marble bar is beautiful. Very nice selection of breakfast foods.
...
I would recommend it highly for the value received, great location, friendly staff.

The hotel was very clean and in a good location - very close to major sights and the train station. In addition, the breakfast served was very good.

Rome is generally a rather expensive place to visit, we think.
...
We thought that we could book a shuttle car from Ciampino, but that was only possible from Fiumicino.
...
A nice and clean hotel that is well situated in Rome. Helpful English speaking staff and good breakfast.

The gentleman that checked us in and gave us the tour of the facilities wasn't the friendliest person we encountered. He wasn't rude, he just wasn't very helpful.
...
The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable!
...
Great location, near the train station but farther away from some of the main sights. The neighborhood is a little seedy at night, but we felt secure in our rooms. The rooms were beautiful and well decorated and very clean.

The staff was very friendly and we always had a good breakfast to start our day. The hotel location is excellent, our room was very quiet and clean. The prices in roma are high, just like all large cities. i would stay here again.

I had no complaints about the accommodation or the staff. they were always polite and friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and as described. I would recommend this hotel.
...
The rooms were not so quiet. The walls are 'thin'. Let's just say that you knew when the person next door went to the toilet.
...
Easy to get to from the station. Comfortable and convenient location. Sonya was a pleasant hotel to stay at.

Lots of noise through the walls from other guests...disturbing!
...
Breakfast is inadequate, only one cereal on offer and no toast. Not good for anyone who doesn't like thick bread rolls, cheese and meat for breakfast. Coffee was cold, milk for cereal was hot?
...
Location is great, close to all public transport, but overpriced. Rooms very small.
Staff helpful and friendly.

no i thought we were getting a proper double bed but instead we got 2 single beds pushed together with a double sheet and double duvet over it
...
the hotel was a lot smaller and more old fashioped than i expected. when i first arrived i was very disappointed and even considered looking for a different hotel but decided against it. It was clean but not very spacious and the breakfast was not great. However for what we paid i suppose it was ok but i would not stay there again or reccommend it to anyone in future
...

It is so well located (near the Termini and the Metro) and we liked the fact that there is a mix in the building of tenannts and hotel guests.

Unfortunately, we did get lost from the train Station. The street signs were not as clear to read. But, once we found the hotel we were placed into your newly renovated Building on via firenze. The rooms were great and quiet and it was helpful to have an elevator. My daughters room was unfortunately on the opposite hallway which had separate entry keys. It would have been nice to have been closer.
The breakfast was fabulous and kept us going until late afternoon. Appreciated the friendly staff and the honor system mini bar. Thanks for a lovely stay. Hope to return soon.
...
Should warn walkers from the train station to watch out for young pick pocketers. We had an incident which we prevented. Also mention where to locate the street signs ... ie on the buildings. If you are new to the city it can be difficult.
Should also elaborate on your breakfast. It was the best we had in all our stays in Italy...esp. the cappuccinos in the morning. Many travelers pick their hotels for the breakfast so they can get out quick to the sights. Thanks!!
...
Once we knew where to find it, we loved the location and was able to get around th city easily with buses, metro, walking. It was convenient to be near the train station and not have to take a taxi.
