The air conditioner was very weak. My wife and I spent a good part of our stay trying to get it to be more powerful.
...
I would describe it as a very nice room containing all of what someone would need on a vacation.

The staff made us feel welcome & showed us to our rooms. Giving us a bottle of water each was a real help since we were tired & thirsty after the plane trip, train trip & walk to the hotel.
...
Our only problem with the room was someone was hammering til almost 8pm. Other than that it was very good.
...
Checking out was easy & the staff helpful.
...
The Jolly Bar that provides breakfast is excellent. The people friendly & helpful. The elevator is unusal for Americans but added to the fun of the stay. It does however cause some problems when trying to get all the luggage we had (4 people on a 2 week vacation) up to the rooms.
...
Really enjoyed it. The staff was always ready to help & suggest places to go. Our first day there we asked how to get to the Colelseum & the directions were helpful plus his recommendation that we walk was right on. It gave us a chance to really start to explore Rome.

We did get lost coming out of the train station because the Leonardo Express train arrives way on the other side of the station, so we exited on the wrong side of the station. Once we got our bearings, however, it was easy to find.
...
We really enjoyed our stay there, and we ended up actually liking the fact that it was a little off the beaten path (being behind the train station). The staff was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome, and did not treat us like stupid tourists. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
...
It is off the beaten path, which is a good thing. Still close to everything. The rooms are very small, but very clean. The staff is awesome and very helpful.

We had a hard time finding the hotel because the building numbers on the street were not in an order we could understand, and we did not know what kind of building we were looking for.We walked around for a long time after midnight with our luggage looking for the hotel. In the morning we slept late and missed breakfast. While we were getting ready in the morning,a woman brought a container of juice and some packaged croissants to the room because we had been too tired to have breakfast at the designated time. That was a nice gesture.
...
The room was bigger than we expected for Rome. The air conditioning was good. The bathroom was nice. The shower was good. The room itself was very basic in terms of decor. It reminded me of a room in residence at a university. (But it did have everything we needed.)The building had a nice square in the middle. The hotel was a small portion of what appeared to be an apartment building.
...
The elevator was broken so we had to carry our luggage down four flights of stairs. The elevator is not really designed for people. It is sort of an outdated cage structure for transporting luggage and a maximum of one person. it was a bit scary.
...
proper directions!!!!
...
The rooms were basic but were very good value. There was nothing offensive. The rooms were clean, quiet, reasonably priced, and well located because we could walk to and from the train station in about 10 minutes.

We were greeted on a hot day with a cup of cold drink - most welcome! Alessandro was a hive of information and welcome smiles.
...
Serendipity is a very pleasant B&B made so particularly by the friendly and ever helpful staff! Breakfasts offered good coffee and yoghurt - a refreshing change from standard continental breakfasts. The fridge in the hallway for our use was most convenient.

Checkout was a smooth process.
...
Serendipity comes highly recommended by us - a friendly, comfortable stay in an excellent location. Very good value for money.

THE BUILDING WE STAYED AT, HAS A SMALL ELEVATOR, VERY CUTE, VERY OLD. THE ONLY BAD THING IS WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK AND YOU HAVE TO GO UP (IN OUR CASE) 3 STORIES WITH YOUR LUGAGE ON HAND.

The receptionist was amazingly kind. He had juice waiting for us then showed us our room and how to use the TV, safe, and Air Conditioning. We thought he was the nicest hotel person we encountered in Europe.
...
I didn't realize that they wouldn't make our beds every day. Although we did get fresh towels I wasn't happy with their diligence to keep the room clean. They only emptied the trash cans once and only made our bed once - on our last night. Overall I was dissapointed in that I felt like I was just renting a room. ESPECIALLY since I asked for a second pillow and got laughed at. That is not a difficult request - how can they not have extra pillows? The breakfast was pretty lousy - coffee out of a pump, the tea was not warm enough, only a meager pre-packaged croissant and toast. We were so dissapointed in the breakfast we only ate it once. On the other hand everyone who worked there was amazingly helpful, kind and gracious. Also we really liked the location. I just think they could clean the room better and provide a better breakfast.
...
They require you pay for your entire stay the first day. This was very strange to me and not clear before I booked the hotel. Plus if you have to change your itinerary and check out early then this becomes very problematic. I found this 'rule' to be very inconvenient and uncomfortable.
...
I suppose if they are not going to provide the 'hotel-like' services of making up the bed and emptying the trash cans it would be nice to know that ahead of time. I was unpleasantly surprised on that one. I was actually offended when I asked for a second pillow that I got laughed at because they don't have them. That was rude and weird - people could have neck/back issues and have needs for additional pillows - for what we paid we should have been able to get that.
...
It was clean and spacious with a nice down comforter and plenty of room for our things. The bathroom was big enough but they didn't have any place near the sink to put my toothbrush etc. I was rather dissapointed in the service since I couldn't get a second pillow and they didn't make up the bed. I felt like I was just renting a bare bones room. Also the breakfast was rather dissapointing - we only ate it once since it was so bad. I loved having a balcony and the shower was nice. I will say the people who work there were the nicest in all of Europe - Serendipidy's only saving grace. They were helpful and kind and willing to show us things on the map. If I went back I wouldn't stay there again, I was too dissapointed. But if you're looking for a clean room with a nice bed in a good location then I would recommend this place.

Although the rooms weren't big, it was certainly enough for the two of us and we love it so much we wanted to recommend this place while we were still in rome! The hotel is situated in this huge pleasant complex with a courtyard in the middle, a nice breeze, a good sunshine, and a safe environment. The lift, although small, were so pleasantly ancient and works fantastically. Although it was next to the road, it was not at all noisy. The location was very good, very convenient. It's 5 min from the main train station and yet, it does not have the rusty, busy, dodgy feel to it at all. The pillows were the best during our entire stay in Italy, even better than the 4-star hotel ones :) Staffs were very polite and all-time helpful. I just love everything about it.
...
It is a must place to stay when in Rome. But if you're the type of person who likes grandeur, then maybe not. It is a simple, cozy place that gives you such warmth and welcome atmosphere that makes you always want to come back to.

Unfortunately, all the triples with balconies were gone when we arrived. This was ok but it would have been nice to have. Ricardo was the most welcoming host and all the people at the reception were very nice and helpful. This was a great deal for a 2 star hotel. It was very clean and the air-conditioning worked perfect, this was good since it was 38° in Rome for our 3 days. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a nice stay and close to all public transportation. Ricardo helped us find all the great spots for dinner and they all lived up to our expectations and beyond.

...
Recommend it highly. The outside windows were soundproof, which you need since it is on a well traveled road. Room was spacious and very clean and modern.

I only say worse, because of two things: wifi
and breakfast. The wifi supposedly could only
be accessed in the office which was in
another builidng from our room; however,it
was difficult to access. On three different
occasions, I never could get on-line. My
husband after many attempts did once. Also,
the breakfast was located in another
location, across a busy street. It was always
very crowded.
...
The room was gorgeous and very comfortable. In
the bathroom, it would be nice to have a shelf
over the sink to place toiletries. We did not
have a cell phone and were using a phone card.
This hotel does not have a phone in the room
which was very inconvenient for us. They sent
us to an internet place a few blocks away to
make phone calls.

...
It was a very comfortable, attractive room,
but the breakfast left a lot to be desired.
The price was right, so I would recommend it
