It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the hotel was on the third and fourth floor of a building with two other hotels. That is not common in the United States, so was a little confusing initially. ... We were amazed by the size of the room, and the amenities, for the price. ... Absolutely no problems. ... Again, I would state that it is not a stand alone hotel. ... Excellent value, lovely room, helpful staff, good location. Highly recommend.

Hotel Selene is centrally located and just a few minutes walk to the train station. This hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was very clean and comfortable; a real value for our money.

Our room was small but well-decorated and very clean. The bathroom was like-new with a TUB! There is a lift, but sometimes it was not working, so if several flights of stairs are a problem you should take note. ... The walls were upholstered with a lovely brocade fabric with cording, new carpeting, etc. The bed was great. The room was quite small. In bed you felt like you were sleeping in a jewel box, (or a coffin) depending on your point of view.

As we arrived early we were able to leave our bags there.
... There were rennovations going on but these did not detract from our stay. ... Centrally located and on the 'better' side of the central railway station.
Nice rooms and a good but simple breakfast.

the hotel is on a 3rd floor and the elevator wasnt responding when we got there so it was not fun to walk up 3 floors with our luggage, though it is not the hotels fault, for the elevator is old and if people dont close the door of it after they walk out the it wont go down. ... the luggage was stored in the halway, while safe i would have prefered a separate room for it. ... It would be great to put that it is on the 3rd floor of a building for that was confusing. ... A really good deal, by the looks on the outside of the boulding you wouldnt imagine that a nice hotel is hidden in there, location is great, close to the subway, dont rent a car you wont need it and parking is complicated.

We were part of a Rick Steves tour group. We stayed an additional night at Hotel Selene. Although we had been told we could remain in the same rooms, the morning clerk insisted we change rooms just for the one night. Only with the intervention of our tour director were we able to stay in the same rooms. ... Nice, but the location was far from Rome sites we visited.

I requested a quad room with one double and two single beds and got a confirmation of the booking. On arrival, I was shown a room with one double and a single with a 'pull-out' for the other bed. This pull-out completely blocked access to the bathroom. When I questioned the receptionist I was given another room that had the beds as originally confirmed. However, I had to request a remote control for the TV and later I discovered that one single bed had no sheets. These two problems were quickly and politely remedied. However, I believe that the room should have been ready for occupancy on arrival. ... The breakfast start time was not observed. I found that the buffet was not set up at the start time as stated by the receptionist. Consequently, our party was not able to leave for sight seeing in the morning as we had planned to do. ... I think it is important to emphasize the need to beware of pickpockets. One of our group members had his wallet stolen. While this is not the fault of the hotel, in my opinion it would be helpful if the receptionist would stress the need to be vigilant. ... Conveniently located to the Metro and to most of the major attractions.
