Albergo Santa Chiara offers its guests the possibility to walk through history's sensations. The hotel was born from a group of palaces of the 15th, 17th and 19th centuries. In one of these palaces is housed the Santa Caterina da Siena's chapel which was built where the Saint lived and found death in the year 1380.

A gracious little theatre, the Rossini, was opened in 1873, with the performance of the famous Adelaide Ristori, where is presently situated the hotel's lounge by project go the Arch. Vespignani. However this had became the main hall of their own home already converted into a hotel. Founded by Luigi Corteggiani, the Santa Chiara's Hotel was born in 1832, first as a wine shop, then the structure was converted into an inn and after a short period of time into a hotel.

Thanks to the expanding policy that allowed the construction of the building of the 19th century and the use of the 15th and 17th buildings of property of the Arciconfraternita of the S.S. Annunziata. The Santa Chiara's Hotel has always been present in the political and cultural Italian life. It was Don Luigi Sturzo, who in 1919 from the ground floor reception made an appeal to all strong and free men to form the Italian Popular Party that marked the full integration of the Catholics in the Italian politics.
