| From Navona71 you will be close from some of the best attractions in the Eternal City, such as the Trevi Fountain, Piazza di Spagna and the Pantheon. However, at Piazza Navona there are a number of must-sees to get started with: the Four Rivers Fountain represents the four corners of the world (the Danube, the Rio de la Plata, the Ganges and the Nile). The church of Sant Agnese was finished in 1657, a work of art by Borromino. All in all, this square gathers some of the best examples of Baroque Roman architecture. If you are interested in art, you can check the Palazzo Pamphili Gallery, where you cannot miss the frescoes by Pietro da Cartona. Also, Villa Borghese hosts a museum and a gallery with really nice collections. For instance, at the entrance of the museum you will find the sculpture of Paulina Borghese, Napoleon`s sister, which was created in 1805 by artist Antonio Canova as "the Winning Venus". |
