The accomodation had gas smell when we closed the gas lap. The water of the shower was to cold. ... There were no bottle of wine or fruit basket available. ... A very nice and central place to relax in Rom.

be prepared for lots of stairs to get to the apartment. may be a problem for those with mobility problems. ... Emmaneula made our stay a pleasure! The apartment is spacious and homely and it was great to have the option of having meals in our own kitchen! Emmaneula also had a bottle of wine in the fridge and some breakfast stuff left for us-a lovely touch we really appreciated! ... Payment is required on arrival. The website did say that extra cleaning was not included however we had to pay for the regular end of stay cleaning. We felt this was a bit unfair as the apartment will require cleaning before new residents stay anyway. ... it's located down a quiet pedrestrian street and leads into the jewish quarter! we discovered ruins older than the colosseum on our doorstep! the map makes places look further than i thought they'd be! ... Fantastic location within mnutes walk of anything you will want to see and do in Rome. Spacious, beautifully decorated, well kept and quiet apartment with everything you'll need and a bit more! A great place to come back to relax after a day of sightseeing before hitting the town again in the evening! Just be prepared for the stairs to get to this haven!

Really helpful owner. Couldn't have been nicer. ... A really beautiful, extremely well equiped and clean apartment. In a great location too. In a stylishly renovated old building. ... answer to 12 relates to extra charge for cleaning. ... Should make it really clear that there is an additional 30 euros to pay for cleaning, not really a problem just a suggestion.
It was not possible to arrange for late cheak-out, and the additional payment for that as advertised, through the web site and rome-bys interference when we tried to organise that with the owner led to some mis-understanding. Would be good to be able to include that on the initial booking. ... Fantastic flat in a great location, beautifully kept, beautifully equiped, and well worth a visit. A real gem if you want to do Rome in a quiet, independant way or if you just want to experience a bit of real roman life rather than the standard hotel experience.....

More information on how to obtain train and bus tickets would have been useful, as this was new to us and a little confusing. ... Very good, central location close to interesting places and a good taste of 'real' Rome. ... We had to leave the keys in the apartment, which was difficult as they were needed to open the main door and outer gate in order to leave. This meant one of us had to stay outside and prop the doors open while the other one had to go back and return the keys to the apartment. As a result we accidentally left an item in the apartment and were not able to go back for it. The need to unlock the main door and outer gate is also a concern in case of fire! ... The apartment is located in an area that is very pleasant, a short walk away from the river and close to some of the best value places to eat out or buy food. The street outside can be noisy at times, but this is true of most of Rome! It was very cool, even on very hot days and with no electric fans. It also appears to have good central heating. The TV aerial needs to be fixed, as the signal is very weak. ... A spacious, airy, bright apartment in a good central location close to shops, restaurants, the river and most of the major sights, e.g. the Pantheon, the Vatican, etc. The apartment is located on a side street, away from the main roads. This means it is isolated from the worst of the late night street noise. The apartment is very well looked after, and is a lovely place to relax at the end of a long day's sightseeing!

Emanuela was very helpful in all respects, e.g. finding a splendid restaurant for us when arriving late. ... The flat looked really cool from the pictures, and we were not disappointed. It was as we hoped for, and more! ... We appreciated a lot the flexibility in terms of leaving later, and checking out ourselves! ... I do not recall everything, but I would highligth the personal touch and taste of the owner. Also, the extremely central location, in an old building, though modernised while taking care of the old details. Nice shops all around. ... The perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend in Rome. It beats staying at a hotel by far!

I would recommend tat for folks who are familiar with Rome, and comfortable with making their own travel, that they take the train to Trastevere station & the #8 tram to L'Argo Argentina. It is a short walk from there. I found it an easy thing to do & imagine that iot is much more pleasant than starting off at Termini! ... It was wonderful! I would definitely stay there again. ... Emanuela is great! ... I am biased as Casa Portico d'Ottavia is in my favorite neighborhood. It is like a secret that I would only share with a few close friends.

Your website is excellent. My friends were amazed that I found an apartment instead of a hotel room. I'm telling my friends about your very helpful Website. ... The apartment is every bit as good as advertised. It's a wonderful space with understated sophistication in the heart of Rome, within walking distance of practically everything. Emanuela Talacci, the apartment owner, met us upon our arrival and showed us where everything was and how everything worked, from the oven to the shower to the CD player to the intercom and door locks. As far as cleanliness, the apartment was immaculate. The bed is very comfortable. She took the time to talk to us about our plans for the week and had some wonderful restaurant suggestions in nearby Campo de' Fiori and elsewhere. She made us feel very welcome. I plan to return to Rome and want to rent the very same apartment again. We loved it. ... I already have highly recommended it to several of my friends. Its paintings and furnishings reflect the artistic and creative aspects of the owner's personality. It's a very comfortable place to return to at the end of a long day of sight-seeing.

Fabulous stay. Ideally located property. Everything worked. Casda Poticio d'Ottavia msde my firist but NOT last trip to Rome very memorable. Have already mentioned it to two other couples I have met on my trek. ... Not enough hot water for a good shower. Tub is difficult to get in and out of.
Front door to property stuck in the security door often. Door into apartment worked just fine. ... Ideal. GREAT place for a single person, a couple or a couple of friends. Ideally located. Easy to walk everywhere. An interesting, vibrant and historical neighborhood. Wonderful restaurants nearby and a little grocery who had THE best pears!!!! Already Casa Porticio d'Ottavia and RomeBy to everyone.

We arrived later in the evening and took the bus to Largo Argentino (not too difficult once we found to buy bus tickets), but from there we had a harder time than expected finding Via Reginella. Fortunately, we were able to call Emanuella (who was waiting in the apartment) and with her help we were able to find it. We would probably have been fine had we printed out a local area map before coming. Note -- by the time we arrived and got settled, we found that many of the local restaurants had closed their kitchens, so I would recommend trying to arrive earlier in the evening. ... The flat was absolutely lovely; the living room had been slightly updated since the pictures we had seen, and all the little touches made the place feel luxuriously comfortable. The kitchen was wonderful, though we wish we'd had the opportunity to make better use of it. We'd read some negative comments about the bathroom, and it should be noted that the tub is indeed quite narrow, and one has to take care not to lose one's footing. That said, we were warned, and it was not a major problem. One minor suggestion: it would be very nice to include some local information -- local maps, especially with any favorite local restaurants and cafes marked. ... We had no problems checking out; on arrival we had not yet brought the payment in cash, and Emanuella was able to come the next day for us to pay her. ... I don't think we realized earlier just how centrally located the flat is! The main plaza of the Jewish Ghetto is at one end of the street, and the lovely Piazza Mattei with the Fountain of the Turtles at the other. ... Beautiful, comfortable and amazingly located Roman home away from home, with all the amenities one might need -- we wish we could have stayed longer and took better advantage of the large space and well-equipped kitchen. It was close to the heart of everything, but not in the least touristy or crowded. While the price was somewhat more than we might have liked to spend, it was probably not expensive by Rome standards and certainly worth it for the wonderful experience we got.

We had a nice time, and enjoyed staying in the apartment. It was clean and in a nice location. A few minor things, no Satellite TV, a horrible working bathtub and shower, and a broken DVD player and hairdryer. The apartment manager was extremely nice, and I informed her of our minor problems. I am sure she will have them fixed. But overall, it was a nice experience, and we would use your website again. Thanks

we were very pleased with the accomodation, however the shower and bathroom needs some improvement. ... I do not think we should pay for cleaning of the property, I think it should be inlcluded in the price. ... Excellent location ... Just perfect
