i would recommend this hotel to anyone that i know is going to Rome, i know that when i return to Rome i will most definitely stay at piccolo piazza di spagna i enjoyed my stay there very much it was a beautiful hotel very central to all major attractions and the staff was very welcoming and warm

The hotel had a driver waiting for us at the airport. From our pick-up at the airport to the check-in at the hotel everything was very smooth.

J.R. taught us that it is better to herald a taxi, than to call one by phone. The hotel is located in a great spot; there are always plenty of taxis. When a taxi is phoned the meter starts from the time of the call. Therefore, it cost us less when J.R. would just step outside and flag a taxi for us. Very useful information.

Great location. Very close to the Spanish Steps with super shopping right outside your door. Easy walking distance to all the major historic attractions in Rome. The room was very clean and comfortable, as well as the bathroom. There was always friendly and informative staff available to help with any questions. We have made a friend for life with J.R. He was the the best part of our stay!

Good value accomodation in a good location in Rome - as the name suggests, its a small hotel but perfectly formed! Make sure you get either room Giotto or Room Michaelangelo for a terrace to have breakfast on!

The Piccolo has apartments separate from the hotel and they should advertise this, and include pictures on their website. They're better than what I believe the hotel itself has to offer.

We arrived a bit early and the receptionist, thankfully, allowed us to check in and get into our room. That was a pleasant surprise as we did arrive a bit early.

Everything was as stated on the website. It was close to everything!! The metro to go to the Vatican City was literally 1 minute away. The room was very clean, the bathroom was immaculate and the front desk people were very friendly.

I absolutey recommend this place to anyone.
Although the rooms are small(as most
European rooms at this price are), they are
very clean, up to date, quiet and well kept.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and
the breakfast served is ample
(pastries,juices, cereal, yogurt, and
coffee). The location is awesome-right near
the Spanish Steps, Trevi etc. You can walk
all over the Historical center, and are
close to the subway station. Close to good
shopping and restaurants as well. Thumbs
up!

One other hotel I sent a reservation request to from Romeby never wrote back. It took a couple times to get Il Piccolo to write back. There was some confusion in the process when I tried to check availability for a different series of nights. It all worked out in the end.

The property is in a very convenient location. The rooms are clean and spacious..I guess I was expecting more of a traditional hotel...walk into the lobby kind of thing. This was a school and some businesses on the first few floors and the hotel was on the 4th floor.... so, when I arrived, I was a little confused. But the accomodations were fine... To answer the above question.... the property was not WORSE than expected...just different...

The room was as expected, except we did think we would have a shower as well as a bath.
The bathroom was infested with Ants, which was understandably not nice.
The room was extrememly noisy due to thin walls and we therefore had to put up with loud neighbours in the early morning and late at night. Also the breakfast dining area was outside our room - which we were unaware of, so we also had the noise coming from there from 7-10am.
Also having chosen a room with a balcony, we were disappointed at the view being of a building site opposite.

On arrival at the hotel we were extremely annoyed at being offered a discount of 10% by paying in cash. If we were advised of this when we booked through the internet, we would of made arrangements to have cash before leaving England, but as it was it was too late as we couldn't access the cash and so we had to pay by card.

Since the hotel had emailed me after I made the reservation to confirm which room we would have, I was able to send an email at the very last minute to arrange for them to send a car to meet us at the airport. They arranged this very promptly and made everything much easier for us.
