I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. Location was central, Hotel was comfortable, stunning, and looked like the photo on the web site. staff were polite, friendly, and did what they could to make our stay ideal.
This hotel delivered all it promised and more. I highly recommend this hotel, and am happy to say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Thank you !!!!! Peter Smith ( Australia ) ... Thought the hotel looked nice on the WEb Site, But it was better than expected.
Was easier to get to than I thought.
It was so close to the centre of town, i was delighted.
Position of hotel made touring very easy. ... Compared to places I have stayed around the word. This hotel offered Real exceptional value for money.
When i came home and saw the conversion rate. i was shocked at how low the rate was, considering the quality of the hotel.
Check out was easy and speedy. ... It's location to the center of town is not clearly stated on the site. or the Vatican !!!
Nor is the easy access from the airport. It was so simple ... Location location Location Comfortable, clean, friendly !!!
just beautiful

We rate your online directions as 'fairly clear' only because the final distance between exit 1 (via aurelia) and the entrace of Domus Mariae is more than 4 (or even 5) km. instead of the stated 3 km. After a long trip this can be confusing. ... We did not expect in Rome and were very pleased by the quietness of the surroundings. This quality should be mentioned and appreciated as we did.
We did miss clear directions to the 'metro' (underground) station Cornelia, which actually hapened to be just around the corner, literally. ... We have and will recommend it to all our friends and relatives.

The hotel is in good condition and the rooms are also in good condition. The personel was helpful and cooperative. The Only problem we had was the to get to the hotel, because is not on a main street. People we asked did not know where it was or heard of it. It took me almost half hour to find it. ... The first evening my daughter could not get out of the washroom as the lock would not open. She was stuck in there for about one hour before someone could get her out. Also the other room had a faulty air conditioner and was unbearably hot and humid all night. They could not move us until the next day. Other than the two episodes the hotel and staff were excellent. I would however have expected the hotel to offer up a discount or other offer for the room with no AC and the problem with the washroom locks but they did not mention anything. I would think it would have been good customer service to offer up something as a guesture to make up for the inconveniences. Otherwise a nice hotel and your booking and confirmation services were excellent. Please advise if there is anything you can do about the problems we had. Thank you, Aldo Belvedere ... More specific instructions on getting there. There are two possible exits and I ended up following Via Aurelia as stated instead of going towards the Vatican. ... Excellent other than the problems we had and obvious lack of compensation for their maintenance issues.

The place is quite nice, but the service is not what one would expect. This refers to both the receptionists and other servants. In addition the breakfast buffee is a catastrophy. The rooms are quite noisy due to thin walls and doors.

The breakfast was great except for the powdered eggs. Get rid of them! I found everyone very helpful. ... There is a nice garden spot outside the hotel, we got some sliced meat, cheese, bread, wine and glasses from the farmers market right next door. We had out leatherman knife. We had a picnic for all six of us. It was wonderful. ... A very clean, nice hotel, with a substancial breakfast so you can tour Rome. The metro is about 15 minutes away (California walk, Italian walk is 5 minutes) Also we were able to pickup our car rental at the end of the walk. Everything worked out much better than expeced.

Reception staff were very helpful in giving us information on the metro, tours etc. and provided us with map of Rome, even giving us additional map to show location of hotel as it was outside the area of regular map. ... Regarding No. 8 above, the only minus was that renovation work was going on in the hotel directly above/or adjacent to our room, which resulted in a fair amount of noise early in the morning. ... Everything was well organised - taxi ordered for us - and as we paid in cash, receptionist actually tore up our reservation slip which included my visa no., this I was very impressed with. ... No. However, we enjoyed walking on the grounds. ... Very comfortable, clean, all staff friendly, breakfast sufficient, (bacon not cooked enough), room a little small. Very nice hotel. It does have that mix of old time glamour and some tired parts of the building. The breakfast buffet was good. The rooms nicely done, but not the cleanest. For example, the smudge marks on the sliding door for the bathroom was evidence of dirty hands touching the doors and no cleaning person thinking to clean them. I would suggest the cleaning person sit on the covered toilet. Get the customer's view of the bathroom and clean what is needed, not just stand in the bathroom and clean from that angle. ... Old glamour. A bit tired. Nice staff, good breakfast, easy to get to metro and some great local shops for dinner and dessert.

Your hotel resembles an Eastern European hotel. It is noisy and stark. Your restaurant is atrocious. The food is completely tasteless and the prices are ludicrous, considering the ambience and quality.
I was in your hotel for a retreat. The service for the retreat was likewise incredibly bad. There as no water or coffee provided except for a brief break, determined by your hotel. I facilitate retreats all over the world, and have never experienced worse service. ... Your internet service was down during my stay. When asked when it would be fixed, the answer was simply, 'Who knows?' ... I would never recommend you to anyone.

All went weell. The procedure was quick and efficient. ... As our room was noisy - overlooked the bin collection area - we complained and were immediately allocated another room in a quieter part. It was good that there was no attempt to argue with our complaint. ... Breakfast could be better. The scrambled eggs were not hot despite being on a hotplate - probably because the dish was too large. In addition there were no cooked tomatoes and mushrooms to go with the eggs if you didn't eat meat. Also a toaster machine needs to be provided for making hot toast. ... Overall very nice apart from the above comments. Convenient position for train to city centre etc.

We only had one minor issue with the check in. The hotel told us that you informed them that we needed a double room, but that your message did not specify the bed type we had requested. Consequently, we were assigned a room with two single beds vice the double bed we had requested. The hotel rectified the problem the next day. This incident did not significantly detract from our overall satisfaction with your service. ... The property was excellent, though a little far out from city center. Next time we'll search for something a little closer in. ... A very nice property staffed with helpful people who spoke English very well. Clean, comfortable and quiet and reasonably priced. The hotel is a nicely restored historic residence building. It's close to both the metro and bus lines. The only detractor is that the metro service in Rome is quite limited and you may have to walk a good ways from a station to see some of the sights or get to restaurants. Also, the bus running from the hotel to the city center only comers by every thirty minutes; so, you need to plan your trips carefully to avoid waiting for up to thirty minutes for the next bus.

Because the metro has several exit options you need to specify the best exit point as we found to be on the wrong side of the road and much farther away from the hotel when we arrived.

When i first arrived i was put into a room with twin beds. I had booked a double bed and thats what was on my reservation. The room we were moved to with the double bed was beautiful and very clean. very nice indeed. ... The hotel receptiomist was very pleasent on checking out. they kept our bags at the hotel so we could go site seeing as our flight was later on. we had no problem getting the luggage back when we returned and also the receptionist arrangeda taxi for us on departure which was very nice. ... very quiet place and very pleasent. staff are very helpful. all tourist attractions are a hop and a skip away. the metro station is 3min away and from there everything is at your fingertips. the decor is old fanished but extrodinary and beautiful it helps add a bit of culture to your journey.

None. ... Very clean. Excellent value for money. Excellent cleaning service. Excellent customer service. Staff are very polite and helpful. Breakfast is good - with a selection of pasteries, fruit, cereal and a fry. The gardens and grounds are beautiful. The receptionist was very helpful and gave us advice on how to travel to the vatican and to the city centre. ... The breakfast buffet caters basically for the Italian taste, but is not geared towards international guests. For example, no muesli was on offer for breakfast, although most European hotels offer various kinds of it for breakfast. Also, the choice of cheeses was very limited. Nevertheless, by Italian breakfast standards acceptable. ... Fast, efficient, friendly. ... The Domus Mariae is part of the hotel but there are no indications in the hotel about whether it can be visited or where the entrance is. It would have been nice to see it. ... I would receommend it to others who are interested in visiting Rome, but I would advise them to wait until the weather is a little better. In my opinion what is really missing from this hotel is swimming and sauna facilities.
