As a matter of fact the property still holds many features related to Christendom, as the Palazzo was acquired by Cardinal Pierdonato Cesi and a whole refurbishing was made. This cardinal, born in1583, was appointed to Toledo in Spain, and was part of the conclave held in 1655. The hotel still bears his name due to the important restorations he conducted on the building original from the 15th century.

He turned the construction into an antiques and art museum, and created a library where guests gather to have a drink or read today. Later on, it was the Generalate of the Salvatorians who converted a part of the building into a "welcoming home". At Palazzo Cardinal Cesi the old cloisters became a fantastic spot with fountains and plants where to enjoy some fresh air; and the old refectorium is now used for breakfast and special events.

In the past, this room used to host the religious living in the palazzo three times a day, for meals and prayers. At Palazzo Cardinal Cesi there are 30 guestrooms displayed along its 5 floors. The last renovation took place in 2003, adding modern gadgets like internet connection and mini bar to the preserved features from the past. At this location in Rome, you will be close to must-sees in the area such as the Sixtine Chapel, St Peter`s Basilica, Castel Sant`Angelo and the Pantheon.
