The lady on Reception when we arrived was extremely helpful and friendly and gave us lots of information on where to eat, shop, go sight-seeing and how to get around using public transport.
However - our voucher stated that we had a jacuzzi but it turned out that we only had a shower. We also booked a 'deluxe' room and were told that these were more spacious than standard rooms. We thought they were pretty small so I would love to see how big a standard room is!
They also had no irons or ironing boards available to use in the room - you had to send any clothes you wanted ironing out of the hotel for pressing - this was pretty inconvenient if you wanted something doing last minute. There was also no electrical sockets in the room for my hairdryer - but as it turned out, the hairdryer provided by the hotel in the bathroom was one of the best I have ever used! ... We were checking out during the powercut that affected the whole of Italy and I was extremely impresesd by how the man on the reception coped with the chaos. He was absolutely hilarious and I did wonder at some point whether I was in an episode of Fawlty Towers! brilliant! the staff certainly made the stay for us. ... The hotel is in a great location just off Piazza Barberini so Metro is 2 minutes from the front door and most of the sights and shops are walking distance. The rooms are on the small side but very nice. This hotel was outstanding! The staff was more than accommodating in making recommendations, reservations, calling for taxis, helping with directions, etc. The staff was very friendly.
The rooms were spotless and the bathroom was beautiful! No small touch was overlooked. Just perfect.
We can't say enough good things about our experience at this hotel. We would highly recommend it to friends travelling to Rome.
The location was fantastic, as it was a 5 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and about 7 minutes to the Trevi Fountain. We were very pleased with the location, and it was set back off of the main streets so the traffic noise was not an issue. ... The staff at the Ottocento go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that your time at the hotel with them is a wonderful experience, and they do everything in their power to ensure that your visit to Rome is enjoyable as well. ... A charming hotel with a superior staff, spotlessly clean rooms, large bathrooms. Beautiful ambience throughout the hotel. The breakfasts were a wonderful way to start our day! We can't say enough good things about this hotel. Cannot imagine staying anywhere else whenever we do return to Rome!

The Restaurant Rossini attached to the hotel is absolutely amazing! ... Quaint boutique hotel on charming side street, very near The Spanish Steps and within easy walking distance to all places of interest. Don't miss the Restaurant Rossini, especially the Gnocchi al Pesto!

Albergo Ottocento is a lovely little hotel in a very convenient location. Our only disappointment was the air conditioning. We complained that it was not working but were told that it was. It certainly did not make an impression on the temperature. At the height of summer this would be a serious problem as our room was in the front of the building and the road below was quite noisy so leaving the window open would mean a noisy night. One other point - your website said there was a roof garden - this was not open during our stay although we did go and see it. Apart from that it was excellent. ... Very helpful - they kept our bags during the day and we were able to use the bar before we left for the airport. ... The roof garden has no views over Rome - just the street below!! ... Small boutique style hotel in the heart of Rome with a very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Perfect location, easy to find. Staff very busy but also very pleasant and accommodating. ... The only thing missing was the roof-top dining that we expected and jacuzzi didn't work but we didn't miss them. ... The hotel is in the perfect location to visit Spanish Steps, American Embassy, Trevoli Fountain and other sites. We walked to everything but the Vatican from our hotel. The accomodations are large, clean, and quiet. The staff very helpful and pleasant. I hope to return.

Staff very friendly and helpful ... Staff very friendly. Excellent breakfast ... We had to leave our luggage for some time after checking out. The staff actually suggested leaving it with them. Retreiving it was no problem thanks to a most helpful and welcoming staff. We will stay there again on our return to Rome. The location was excellent for all the major sites and for restaurants. ... A very central location. Friendly and welcoming staff.Bright and clean. Good value for money.

hair dryers are provided ... The hotel was lovely and in a perfect location. The double room was clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was more than adequate and the dinners in the restaurant were among the best we had in Rome. The desk clerks were very professional but friendly and helpful, giving us good sightseeing tips and arranging car service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Albergo Ottocento and would definitely stay there again.

Extremely efficient website and very nice hotel. ... Restaurant attached to hotel is particularly good in the best tradition of fresh, tasty Roman cooking. ... Again all very efficient. ... I don't remember the restaurant facilities being mentioned. ... Convenient, personal, good value.

Patricia was very courteous and friendly. Her smile definitely is an asset to your organization. ... My only concern was the size of the room and it was quite small. I loved the location, but would need to upgrade to a larger room or find other accomodations in the future. ... We got serenaded by the person at the front desk. Entertaining! ... I would just caution them about the size of the room. Otherwise, everything was perfect. The breakfast is great, including scrambed eggs and many other selections of pastries, yogurt, fruit, etc. The cappucino that is made to order is wonderful and everyone is extremely friendly.

What could be better is tourist information at the hotel desk like opening hours of the museum, reservation of museum tickets, a plan of public transports, a map of rome as we got it from the tourist office, a good sign could have been a reduction for our 7 and 11 year old children, more coffee or tea for breakfast without extra bill - nevertheless it was a beautiful holiday at rome ... airport connection by bus, train or taxi ... a nice and calm hotel good situated within rome to get everywhere by metro or foot

Everything ready for us, welcoming staff. ... The room was small compared to other properties we visited during our 18 day Italian vacation. There was only 18-24 inches around the bed and no storage closet. That said, the bed was the best we had anywhere. The air conditioning was perfect and the room was very quiet despite the proximity to Piazza Barbarini and the Spanish Steps. The buffet breakfast was among the best we had anywhere. Location is perfect although being at the top of the Spanish Steps meant a lot of climbing especially after dinner. The hotel is 5 minutes from the Metro in Barberini Square which made it easy to get across the city quickly and inexpensively. ... GO THERE....IT IS A KNOWN QUANTITY AND WE WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.

The hotel is clean and private. The staff very polite and hlepful. The rooms were very nice but I would not describe them as spacious - they met our needs.
Air conditioning was not available to us but since we were on a quiet street we could open the window for a breeze. ... Charming, clean and situated in the center of the city. Extremely helpful staff.

The hotel is lovely--they went out of their way to be hospitable, providing information when necessary, also dealing with some additional questions and requests we had. ... The rooms in actuality were smaller than portrayed on the web. I understand that if you show rooms, you will show your deluxe and superior rooms, but they should be a bit more forthcoming. ... My expectations of travel in Italy were from before the introduction of the Euro, when the value for American was much better,. This isn't their fault, just reality. ... a lovely quiet hotel in the most accessible area of Rome--difficult for taxis to get to, but that's what you pay for. Cozy and comfortable with attentive staff. Nice breakfast, with so so coffee. Clean with all modern facilities in the bathroom. Not too much closet space, however.

Arrival experience was very satisfactory. ... The hotel bar staff were not prepared and mostly appeared flustered and unable to cope with the simplest of orders - I always had to ask reception for someone to serve us drinks - a bar man was never available. Eventually someone turned up, but they took a long time preparing the drinks we ordered. On one occasion we were refused a particular wine because a bottle was not already open !
This is an area in which the hotel needs to improve. ... A very comfortable hotel in a good location.

There were four of us traveling together and our luggage did not make it on our flight from Paris to Rome. Magdalena checked us in and and when she found out our luggage was not with us, she offered to call the airport to make sure it would get to the hotel. It was there by the next morning - all four bags. We really appreciated her help! ... My wallet was stolen while in Rome. Patrizia helped so much by calling the credit card companies for me during a time of great stress. My husband and I are so grateful for her helpfulness. All of the staff at the Albergo Ottocento were wonderful, so polite and personable. All four of us enjoyed our stay and will stay there again when we return to Rome. ... Nicola was his cheerful self, even at 5am when we were checking out! ... The location of the hotel is wonderful! We were so glad to have found such a great hotel. Also, the hotel arranged service for us to and from the airport, which was a nice feature. We were in room 201 and loved the size of the bathroom and the whirlpool tub. I just wish the rooms were a little bit bigger, but I understand that space is limited in Rome. We were very happy to have the breakfast each morning also, to start our day. Am glad it was included in the price of the room. ... Great location in Rome, wonderful, helpful staff, very clean. Whirlpool bath is a plus, breakfast buffet is a great thing to have when starting your day. Rooms are a little small, but that's the way it is in Rome.

We booked new years eve dinner at the hotel's restaurant. While the meal was fine, there were a number of families with small children some of whom were very noisy. We feel that we should have been advised that this would be the case so that we could make a decision if that was what we wanted. As it was the atmosphere of the evening was akin to a trip to MacDonalds

shower instead of a jacuzzi tub , but we didn't complain as in the end this wasn't important to us ... restaurant on the roof wasn't available , despite beautiful weather. The hotel said they had a problem with the room (a deluxe) and we agreed to their proposal to have a standard room for the first 2 nights and suite for the last night plus 10% off meals in the restaurant and a bottle of champagne although the receptionist later denied she had offered this. However this was provided by another receptionist. ... The roof garden was not available for breakfasts or drinks at some other times. It appeared to be used for private parties rather than the benefit of hotel guests. Being high season this was surprising and disappointing since it was one reason for booking this hotel. ... Quality car booked by the hotel to return to the airport picked us up on time. ... Standard rooms rather small. Apart from one receptionist, the other two receptionists were very good as were all other staff. ... A clean hotel in an excellent, quiet location close to good shops and the metro. An ideal location for seeing Rome. Food and service in the restaurant very good. Suggest to get the hotel to book a car to pick you up on arrival. Taxi drivers at the airport try and fill the taxis with say two couples and still charge each couple the full price!
