Our host did not speak english, which was rare in Rome. ... Cheaper than other places in the area. However, it is: -louder (hear the street traffic @ night) -a bit dingy -small -not very good breakfast
I feel that Monti house could make some upgrades in paint, cleaning, curtains and bed linens to step-up in quality.

We were told that payment had to be made by cash and not credit card even though it was clearly stated on the site that card was accepted. It was only sorted out much later. ... Included breakfast was not very good even though the coffee was; the beds were not made properly during the day ... The fact that the place is at the end of Via Urbana and perpendicular to it and not parallel to Via Urbana; breakfast is not lavish by any means; and it is overpriced for 100 Euros; location though, is very very good- both the Forum and the Colloseum are walking distance from it ... Excellently located place ; ok for a night's stay and only to stay in but not the best value for money possible

This B & B is perfectly located for all your needs. Groceries, laundry, restaurants, delies, shopping, trains, and tourist sights are all within walking distance, including the Colesium, Venezia and ruins etc. The complimentary breakfast was served to the room with a smile. It was made to order and always served at the time requested. The front desk clerk (Flo) could speak English and was a wonderful host. He offered us many good tips and precautions we should be aware of to ensure a safe visit. We would definitely stay again when in Rome. Chow Flo!

The floor was unfortunately very dirty. The black dirt most probably came from outside,it was visible only in our socks... We would have expected a fresh croissant. A small table would be good to put the breakfast on since it was a bit difficult to eat on the bed. ... Simple and tidy hotel with good location.

Breakfast was horrible - a carton of juice and a dried up pastry from under his reception desk!!! - i expected more. The rooms were freezing and staff entered the room and switched off our heating. The bathroom floor was dangerously slippy. We had to ask for the heating controllers which weren't in the room. The room door did not look safe. ... Check out was before miday. My partner and I stepped out at 9am to get breakfast and he shouted at us in italian i didnt understand. He wanted us out ! It was 9am!! ... state that it is none breakfast because what was on offer was not breakfast! No wheelchair access and definietly not for those impaired - steep staircase. ... cold room in march poor heating facilities and unfriendly receptionist - bad breakfast.

no ... A very small familiar place situated between the Colosseum and Stazione Termini. Next to Public Transportation. Quiet place in an old tipical Roman Quarter. Good value-price relation. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Taking into account that in Rome many of the streets are mazy, the directions to Monti House were ok. First we passed the street because we didn't look very carefully, but the indications were good. ... We had the room on the top, with balcony which offered a nice view of the small street and it was a great place to have breakfast. ... Very good position in Rome: about 7 minutes to walk to Colosseum and 10 minutes to walk to Termini Station. Nice terraces around Monti House and a few shops nearby.
Rooms were small, but everything in there was carefully dispose and you have the necessary things (bed, bathroom, TV). The room with balcony it's really nice. Although the room is small the balcony is a very good place to relax and drink your morning coffee and have some fresh air.
Breakfast is served in your room and include sweets (coffee/tea, toast, gem, croissant, cookies). A little to sweet for my taste and some will say a little to small, but for a person who don't eat to much (like me) it was ok.
Monti House is a good place if come to Rome to visit and need a place to sleep. It is situated in the heart of Rome, close to many tourist attraction and you can feel genuine spirit around those streets. If you are not looking for very sophisticate place, this is the right one to stay.

Taxi driver took us to wrong end of road- could not deliver us to Monti House as road is closed to vehicles because of a long flight of steps - so we had to struggle with our cases on foot. Perhaps the address details should state 'at the Via Urbana end'. ... We were rather surprised by the fact that we had three flights of stairs, one of which was rather steep and narrow. Receptionist took charge of carrying our luggage up to the room. The room was very clean, the bathroom and shower were fine, but we did have to be careful not to get too close to the staircase with its unprotected and dangerous drop. We very much enjoyed having a terrace, but perhaps it should have been described as a 'roof terrace' - we were not expecting it to be such a climb! ... Receptionist was kind enough to ring for a taxi and the fact that it was a long time coming was not his fault. ... We enjoyed our stay in Rome and we grew used to the room we had booked. A little disappointment was the fact that we had no contact with an Italian family which many of the B & B's clearly provided. ... A very centrally situated B & B that was spotlessly clean and run by a very helpful young assistant. One could certainly recommend it to a young couple but for us, aged 77 and 74, the stairs were a bit of a problem.

Everyone working at Monti house was helpful. One person even helped me carry a VERY heavy bag - above and beyond the call of duty! ... The staff recommended an excellent restaurant nearby - much appreciated. ... We had no car in Rome and found Monti House to be ideally located for tours of the Colesseum and ancient Rome (about 5 minutes). Also, the walk from the train station with bags was not too bad. Only about 10 minutes. It was a bit noisy at night, but it seems that most of Rome is noisy. And the location made up for that.
... The room was fairly spartan, but you know what they say....location, location, location!!! The B&B was near a large number of restaurants and tourist attractions, great for walking.

Do not choose a single room unless you are thin. Otherwise, it may be difficult to use the bathroom. ... If you need to stay in Rome for few nights and you don't want to spend a lot of money on accomodation, but still want to easily reach the historic center, this is a good place to go.

The street name not very obvious and there was no sign board of the B&B. Quite difficult to locate.Took me quite a while before I found it. They should have also indivated in the website that it was in a slope. Easier to identify with this way. ... The breakfast vas very disappointing. 1 coffee,1 bun in a packet and some biscuits on the first day. On the second day was exactly the same but minus the biscuits. When I asked , was told that they ran out of biscuits. ... Throughout my stay. There was always only 1 person who ran the establishment. And he was the only one serving the food and collecting the pay and stuff. ... They should publish clearer pics of the rooms and also at least the picture of B&B and the street it's on for easier finding. ... Very back to basics. Don't expect to be dazzled.

We were asked to pay for the room at the beginning of our stay rather than at the end as per the details on the voucher. ... The staff were as helpful as they could be without speaking any english. The bathroom was so small that it was quite difficult to move around. If you were overweight it's best not to stay here! The bed cover could have been alot cleaner. During our 5 night stay, the towels were never changed. ... Very quick! ... There was some noise from a music club in the next road. There was also some traffic noise, even though it wasn't on the main road. Even though the site states it was on a quiet residential road there was always noise. ... Small, cramped and very very basic, but extremely handy for all the sights of Rome.

the advertised room was very different to the tiny room we were allocated. The ensuite was so so small that it was impossible to turn around. It was clean and in a great location. ... It should be stated that only one room has access to the garden and that it is the 'first ' class room. ... Great location but not the most welcoming room. It was tiny and sitting on the bed to eat breakfast is taking the idea of a B&B too far.

rooms are clean and recently reformed but the curtains are transparent and the rooms are too light in the morning. a little noisy. the showers are very bad since there is not enough water pressure . Breakfast is really poor. Localization is good. ... The owner was not kind because we were supposed to be a little late. ... Very expensive for what is proposed. unkind and unfriendly personal. bad shower, bad breakfast and too light during the day.
