I would recommend WWW.RomeBy.com to everyone I know. It is an excellent website. The information provided for each hotel could not be better, the photographs are of the highest degree. I love to travel and having access to the internet makes planning a trip away so much easier, but having access to YOUR website makes planning a trip a pleasure. I always check your website for hotels before any other. ... I would like to thank you for RomeBy.Com. I will continue to use the site for all my travel plans in the future wherever my plans take me.

Teresa Lloyd ... I used the planner to track my booking and to see what the planner provided. Again another excellent service. ... We were given the special low season package. Part of the package included a free three course dinner. The food was just wonderful, the service could not be faulted, and in fact we had four courses, as the resturant offered a wonderful appetiser. All the staff in the resturant were friendly and so nice, and not just the resturant but everywhere in the hotel. Our trip to Rome was wonderful thanks to the Grand Hotel De La Minerve and RomeBy.com ... Absolutely, as explained in my earlier comments. ... Luxury and wonderful hospitality at an excellent price.

Difficult to get in touch with the concierge. We sent an email through the hotel web site but it was never received by the hotel. It was 70 degrees and still light at 5:30 pm, so I believe the roof top bar and restaurant should have been open after 5:30 pm. The view is beautiful. ... Very nice hotel. Appears to be geared to business traveler.

We thought we had reserved a car to pick us up at the airport but it didn't come. We talked to the woman at the transportation desk who told us that we didn't confirm the car. That was true but it was because her email asking for confirmation was unclear. I was probably a bit hard on her, but suggested email wording that people can understand. Sometimes people writing in a foreign language are overly polite and not specific enough. Turns out we got a limo much cheaper so I can't really complain. ... One very hot day, we entered the gotel and were stopped by a staff member who told us the Roof Garden wasn't open. We were dressed exremely casually and looking a bit worse for the wear after touring all day. He was no doubt PROFILING us, and I do not consider this to be appropriate staff behavior in a place of the Minerve's quality.
Also, the door cards kept not working and had to be replaced three times! Maybe you need a new card security system! ... The night desk man was extremely polite and efficient. I settled our account very late the night before our departure. ... I'm not sure how you can convey in pictures how really lovely the Roof Garden is. ... Beautiful, high ceilings, get a room overlooking the wonderful Bernini elephant.

The Minerva was perfectly placed to be able to walk to all the sights and excellent for the evening.
We were on our honeymoon and were upgraded to a delux room, which was very good - having an aperatif in reception is a must.
Staff were corteous and on hand without being intrusive and Paul the doorman was great fun.
We would use the Minerva again - it's not cheap - but you do get what you pay for.

We organised a pick up from the airport which did not arrive even though it had all been confirmed by email before hand. On calling the transportation desk from the airport they said it would be a further 40 mins for them to reach us. We subsequently got a taxi which dropped us at the beginning of the pedestrian area and then it took us over 1/2 hour walking with our luggage to find the place. Not agreat way to start the trip. ... Eating on the rooftop restaurant was a fabulous experience and a great way to kick off our stay in Rome. The hotel is in a great location with a wonderful chilled atmosphere and is so central to everything that you can walk everywhere.

We called a couple days prior to arrival and asked to add another night. They were accomodating, but our room was small but nice. We were not upgraded, which was a possiblity stated on the coucher. I thought our room would be bigger, maybe it was the change in arrival date? ... The room was too small, I would try another hotel due to that. We loved the rooftop terrace, great service so nice. But the bartender downstairs in the lobby was very busy on what seemed to be a personal call, didn't get our drinks to us until AFTER the food, there were only two tables of two!! The breakfast staff was very nice, the concierge wonderful, the desk staff nice! Thank you. ... I had to select something for the 3rd question even though we took a cab and did not see the directions! ... Great location, you might get a really small room! Clean, rooftop is great! But not indoor lobby bar.

The rooms on the front of the hotel are subject to the noisy rattles of the manhole covers in the outside street as traffic drives over them. It is quite distracting as the traffics starts very early in the morning. ... Old and charming building but very tatsfully and luxuriously modernised internally.
Extremely close to many tourist attractions and bars and restaurants.
A peaceful haven in the midst of hurly burly Rome.

The conceige and doorman were wonderful.
I am disappointed in their breakfast services. I was not intertested in their breakfast buffet for $32 euros. All I wanted was coffee and a croissant but that was not available. They charged us $21 euros for coffeee, croissant. we choose not to eat there again and went out to the neighborhood instead. How ridiculous......... ... it was OK ... it was a great location..

The hotel's Transportation Desk was very helpful in arranging transportation from the airport and other needs while staying at the hotel. ... The hotel had many ammendities we enjoyed including a beautiful lobby to relax in, a delicious breakfast, and wonderful roof top bar and restaurant. All facilities had excellent service and friendly waiters. ... The web site was very helpful and I don't have any suggestions for improvement. ... A wonderful location within walking distance of Rome's major attractions and sites; excellent accomodations, food and friendly service by all the hotel employees.

Very swift and efficient check in and helpful staff ... We loved the location and the peaceful atmosphere, the room was very spacious and well serviced. ... Fast and efficient, concierge very helpfull in booking transfer to airport ... Would be good to emphasise the minimum traffic as this is in the square where car access is restricted and therefore quieter than some other hotels. Looking on Trip advisor many people comment on noisy rooms in other locations. ... Fabulous room and location. At the centre of things but still peaceful, loved the jaccuzi bath after a long day on our feet.

I would suggest an intergrating of the billing process for private transfers between hotel property and private service. It would expedite the process of checking out. ... This hotel was great. The location is close to any and all of the major attractions. This property should continue to offer specials w/breakfast and dinner included. The piano player at the hotel was great. we would definitely visit again.

Lots of pictures. So many sites have very few pictures. ... It would be nice if different levels of rooms are clearly labled in the pictures (for example - deluxe, superior, junior suite, etc). ... No complaints about the system. Worked fine. ... Didn't see it. didn't need it. ... I went to the wrong bar for my free 'welcome drink'. Ended up having to pay for it. No big deal. ... Hours of operations for rooftop bar and restaurant very limited. I'd publish the hours. It's a great asset for the hotel that I thought I'd be able to enjoy in the evening hours. ... Good pictures, good information.

i have booked 2 rooms with king-size beds it was confirmed however only one room has been converted from twin beds to king-size bed. ... a very good and pleasent grand style hotel of excellent location in the city centre. friendly staff,helpfull concierge; recommended to book deluxe rooms no standard ones.

The only negative would be the price of breakfast. I feel it should be included in the room rate. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel due to the high price. ... Location,Location,Location.Beautiful rooms!Lovely ambiance.

Guests cannot expect a nice furnished and fully equiped fitness room. It is ok for a city trip but disappointing if you want(ed) to go there for one or two weeks. ... The location is perfect, the terrace with restaurant and bar with a very nice view and a nice atmosphere.

I wanted to love the Hotel de La Minerve. The location couldn't be better— central, yet quiet, and within easy walking distance of every place I love in Rome. And the rooms were lovely, large and comfortable. The problem was that the hotel just does not provide 5 star service. I have stayed in many five star hotels across Europe and this hotel is simply not in their league when it comes to making a guest feel welcomed and taken care of. The concierges both acted like I was annoying them when I asked questions. I spilled a newly poured glass of red wine and practically had to beg them to clean the table, much less provide a refill.The prices, on the other hand, were outrageous. The room service menu was the most inflated I've ever seen (upwards of $35 EUROs for a basic entree) and the food definitely did not live up to the billing. All in all it felt like the hotel was trading on its location and reputation rather than working to make guests feel good. Not my idea of a luxury hotel.

Only problem was internet availability. Only one station and it was down part of the time. Frustrating but not a disaster by any means.
Level of attention and service was excellent. Especially the concierge---who made dinner reservations per long distance telephone request before we arrived. ... Internet accessiibility is not dependable. ... Beautiful, spacious hotel with excellent personal service. Rooftop restaurant and bar are wonderful.

Reception Desk not as helpful as Concierge Desk which was outstanding.
Would have been nice to have been warned that the rooftop was not open at night - not even to see the view. ... Rooftop restaurant is an important feature but was not open at night whereas others in Rome were. ... Very comfortable, a little too quiet in the bar, very convenient. Breakfast far too expensive for a very ordinary breakfast.

Roof garden great but grossly overpriced. Make sure it's open when you go or stay elsewhere less costly and visit the roofgarden for drinks. Rooms nothing special--worth about half the price. Staff and location great.

All was fine. ... I LOVE this hotel, and will always stay there. BUT!!!! The sheets are too scratchy! Smoother ones would be better. ... We checked out late at night, and perhaps the night person is not too practised at getting the bills printed,dividing a bill in two parts, etc. ... Breakfast is WAY overpriced, and therefore we never have breakfast in the hotel. This is our second visit, and we always go out.Please note that we often stay at other 4 star hotels in other Italian cities. The Lungarno, for instance, in Florence, asks 18 euros for their continental buffet! And it is very good. ... Great location. Comfortable rooms and lovely service. The chambermaids are particularly competent and helpful.
