Stairs were a bit of a surprise. Could have done with a hand up. Room was small but comfortable enought. Bathroom was very good. Breakfast at the little cafe nearby was great. Market in the street was terrific. Location was very good. ... Web sites are always hard to go by. Pictures can misrepresent. But it was good for what we paid. We enjoyed our time there and in Rome. ... Very helpful. It really is just a short walk to the station. Even with too heavy suitcases it was OK. ... No. ... As above.

The breakfast was not so good as we hope it would be. We had only one thing for the top of the bread and it was not enough for all the bread. And there was only 1 cup of thee. ... When they are going to Rome than I say the must stay in Hotel Meridiana. The next time I do too.

The breakfast-room doesn't exist. Every morning, from 8 to 10, the staff bring the breakfast in your room at the time you decide the day before. The breakfast is just a tea/coffe/milk, a fruit juice and a pastry ..sorry for my bad english!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. ... The signage is not great - it actually looks as though it has a different name. ... Centrally located, good value, safe and clean budget hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

The man at the desk was friendly and showed us to our room after we checked in. He then got us a map of the city and gave us very good directions to the location where we were meeting friends. He was very helpful. ... It was a bit loud due to a family that we think was living right next to the hotel. Also, we did not have a window to the outside, which would have been nice. ... The person at the desk was not very helpful in finding us a taxi. We ended up having to walk about 1/2 mile with our bags in the rain to the metro stop. ... Staff brought breakfast to our room each morning. The cappuccino was AMAZING! ... Quaint, clean.

Your directions to the hotel were very clear - what was confusing was that we arrived by train from the airport and leaving the train station is somewhat of a muddle. In order to follow your directions, one has to know the various exists of the train station and where you end up. ... The air conditioning was difficult to figure out and stopped working during the night, so the room became warm. But, the room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was comfortable. ... Close to train station - good location but a bit difficult to find at first - no frills - clean - secure - reasonably quiet - friendly staff

Suggest that they have a sign on the ground floor indicating that reception is on the next level. ... The property seems to be under development still. The stairwell and ground floor looked like old apartment areas. However the rooms were good and seemed newly renovated. ... Interesting hotel at first glance - half renovated. Had to look a bit harder to actually find it, as it is at the end of a small street full of small hotels and only had a little plaque to indicate its presence (reception is actually on the first floor). But the rooms were fantastic - newly renovated and better then expected. Bathroom was spacious and service staff very willing to help with tourist questions. Reception is open 24 hrs which made life easier - we knew there was someone who could answer questions any time of the day.

Marble floors, comfortable beds, quiet cul-de-sac street, 3 block walk to termini, makes access to subways, buses, tour buses, and all of Rome ideal. Breakfast room under construction, so breakfast in room, very good continental style. Hotel staff excellent, and met all our needs. We were completely satisfied. Family of 3 in triple room. Very easy to find being only a 10 minute maximum walk from the train station. ... We had to pay by cash because the automated card machine wasn't working in the reception. A few of the nearby banks weren't able to accept English cash point cards although after a short search it worked out fine. ... See above ... No ... Small and friendly away from the noise and center of busy Rome. Very convenient for the train and bus station. The sightseeing tour bus was an excellent way of seeing Rome and only 13 euros for hope on and off all day. Just 5 minutes from the hotel.

upon arrival we were placed in a neighbor hotel since Meridiana had overbooked themselves.. the other hotel was horrible, we couldn't stay since they had no heating and it was cold in the room, so we came back to Meridiana and they eventually succeeded to find us a room in their hotel.. but the owner was so friendly all along and tried to help us with all his power.. but except for our arriving experience, everything was really perfect in hotel Meridiana.. :-) highly highly recommended! ... we had a more than excellent stay at the hotel, it's beautiful, clean, and the atmosphere is great - the owners and staff are so friendly and helpful... we thought this hotel is way above two stars... really one of the best we've ever stayed in... the shower was big and beautiful, the room as well.. except for our arriving experience with the other hotel, everything was really perfect in hotel Meridiana.. :-) highly highly recommended! ... well, the web site convinced us to pick hotel Meridiana, and it lived up to our expectations and more, so i'd say it's doing it's job well.....:-) i'd add 'user comments', because we were really satisfied from the hotel and lacked reading other people's opinions before booking it.. ... one of the best hotel's we've ever stayed in within our cost limits.. had a great feeling to be in, great atmosphere, and extremely comfortable by all means.. easy to reach everything in rome, if by foot or by public transport.. all in all - feels like at least three stars..

At first the gentlemen behind the desk did not want to turn on the airconditioning, but the women immediately turned when we approached her later that afternoon. ... The older gentlemen that was there most of the time was excellent. Although he did not speak english, he made us feel comfortable and was very, very helpful. We tipped him handsomely. ... Great, fast, easy. ...
Great place to stay. Would definitely try and book again if I every return to Rome. ... Comfortable, most of the staff friendly and accommodating. Price fair for the room. Clean with nice towels. Great restaurant right around the corner. Ate there every night.

It was OK as expected ... After checking in when you go to the rooms you have to use stairs that are common to other hotels(?)business and they look quite off putting, not clean and I was quite scarred that our room would look like that. In the end it was just the stairs and the rest was OK. ... Don't be scarred by the stairs leading to the rooms because the service and rooms are OK for the price asked.

The accommodation was a reasonable value considering that it was downtown Rome, but the room was VERY small. We did book and pay for a quad room; the room had one double, one single, and a cot, but there was almost no space to move in the room. There were some larger rooms in the hotel, so maybe we just got unlucky this time. ... The staff was extremely polite and helpful. They called our rental car company to change our pick-up time, and then gave us driving directions to our next destination. ... There is currently no breakfast room; they said it was under renovation. Our breakfast was brought to us in our room. This was o.k. with us, but not quite as nice as having a place to sit and eat breakfast. ... It's a good place to stay in Rome if you don't want to spend a fortune. It's clean and friendly, but the room was tiny. It is very convenient to the main train station and to the Republicca metro stop, but it is not in the heart of tourist destinations.

A chaimbermaid was at reception - she got somebody else. ... The quality of the room/bathroom/beds was good. There was quite a lot off noise on the stairs at night. ... The directions on the web said turn left along the route, but it should have been 'right' ... I would recommend it to a friend who wanted a low budget place to stay, but not at the bottom of the scale. The Room was very well furnished and the receptionists spoke good English.
The weakness of the hotel were the skimpy breakfasts that we had to eat in our room. Next time I would make sure we had a hotel with a dining room.

Location of the hotel is quite difficult to find for first time traveller in Rome, and yet you'd find it really locates at the heart of Rome. ... After experiencing the difficulty to find it in the beginning only, you'd find the hotel's location indeed is very convenient to catch any public transport you like. Fairly small but clean and tidy room. ... The only thing that I find uncomfortable with is the hotel refuses to accept credit card payment, claiming that their credit card machine is out-of-order. Hence, be prepared for it and have more cash with you. ... value for money, yet the room is a bit too small. and be prepared that they don't accept credit card after you've checked-in.

Though check out time was 11:00 the party previously in our room did not vacate until 2:00. We then had to wait until 5:00 for the room to be cleaned and ready to occupy. The manage (owner?) did not even appologize for the inconvenience. ... The cleaning staff did a wonderful job of keeping the room clean. ... Acceptable but quite pricey for what you got.

Visa Machine did not work, had to pay cash and then go and change up more money. ... No bar as stated on the website. This is basic safe clean accomodation with decent bathroom. Staff are friendly and reception is staffed 24hrs. ... Clean and convenient for sightseeing in Rome. Although Air conditioning would not work despite repeated requests. Had to leave windows open at night and this is a very noisy street, making sleep difficult.

The dining room was not available, and so a very poor breakfast was delivered to the room. ... Helpful in as much they agreed to look after our cases until we collected them later in the day.
However, they stated the credit card facility for payment was not available, which meant we had to go to the bank (fortunately we were able to get cash out) ... Clean, basic accommodation for a short break

Breakfast was at a cafe down the road. Proximity to the centre was good. ... I was expecting a little better the entrance was dirty piled up with family goods no sign to be seen from the street confusing when you arrive tired after travelling allday. ... correct directions ... average

The Hotel's location is at the back alley of the main street and during our stay it it was quite eerie to walk alone at nights. Furthermore one of the rooms given to us does not have a proper window as the window opens to a store room and wash room with unsightly view. The hotel does not have a breakfast room. Really inconvenient.

We were not informed about leaving our key at reception each day so that the room could be cleaned. The entrance downstairs is basically a builing site in a not very safe looking street. ... The room was dark, dingy with half the lights working, exposed wiring, filthy stains on the bedroom wall(splashed coffee I think) The bed was very uncomfortable with insufficient blankets ( we could not get them to leave us the control for the aircon/ heater; the radiator did not work) The sheets were permenantly damp and cold. The bathroom was newly refurbished, but there was no fan so condensation had caused black mould to be all over the ceiling and down the walls in the shower. For the price we paid we were not impressed, especially as we paid less in Venice (hotel Al Pont Mocenigo, also 2 star) for a palace... ... The breakfast room does not exist!! There is not satellite TV ... A dump...not recommended.

we were not expecting the hotel to be on the first floor of a tenement building ... Breakfast was not eaten in the hotel but we had to be taken to a nearby cafe where breakfast was served. ... the hotel was undergoing renovations in it's arrival hall, stairs and dining room. there were no signs to indicate reception on the first floor. the streeet area before the hotel was littered with rubbish. ... there were stains on the walls and ceilings. the electricity was switched off by the staff each time we left the room, leaving the fridge warm and the room hot upon our return. because the breakfast room was under renovation, we had our breakfast at a noisy, smelly corner shop and were served only juice, coffee and a croissent.
