The hotel was even better than expected. A
great value.

Conveniantley located next to the train
station, the hotel offers very clean, classy
rooms at a reasonable price. If you are on
a budget and want a great stay in Rome,
Hotel Mariano is a great choice.

the staff was very friendly and welcoming. they assisted me in getting to the hotel and gave us maps and information about rome throughout our stay. It was a great location and the rooms were very clean. I would definitely stay there again.

We had no problems getting the quoted price as when I made the reservations. They were very nice and organized about the whole process.
...
A cute hotel with very spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, and a staff that definitely aims to fulfill the needs of their guests.

A pleasant hotel with polite, attentive staff. The rooms are spacious with a nice bathroom and modest accessories. Beds are comfy, decor is Roman and the chequered floor and bathroom walls has to be seen. Staff are jolly. Location, although not quiet due to being in the hustle and bustle of central Rome, is handily located for public transport and has a nice piazza opposite. Only down side would be the breakfast - lets just say, if you were French, you wouldn't approve of the croissants!

We had booked a double for 3 nights then a single for one, but were given the double for all 4 nights which saved hassles of moving.
...
There was work going on extending the reception while we were there but the area was always kept tidy and minimal noise (reasonable building hours). I's impressed.
...
Friendly family restuarant next door.
...
Reasonably priced hotel in great location. Easy walking distant of main transport with friendly family local restuarant next door. Helpful staff, clean facilities, enjoyable stay.

The staff and furnishing etc was adequate except for their air conditioning system. It was virtually useless. It is a portable type system where you poke a hose out the window which means you draw in the hot air from out of the open window so it was virtually useless and you had to keep emptying the water container at very regular intervals or else it would switch off. The heat from the machine itself didn't help to cool the room either. Also some folks we met were allocated a room for much dearer with no air cond. So from that aspect, we were thankful for the room we got.
...
I would definitely recommend to a friend to stay at another hotel with satisfactory air conditioning, though Mariano's main good point is its locality close to the Rly Stn.

We did not use the directions on the web site, but found the hotel easily as it is very convenient to the terminal and the city.
...
The room was smaller than it appeared. Most of the staff was helpful - one gentleman was rude.
...
The desk manager was helpful in allowing us to leave our bags until later in the day.
...
The area of town that the hotel is in is a bit run down, but not unsafe. I don't know if I read this in your description or not, but it is good to know.

...
Very modest, convenient, area a bit run down.

Slight indifference but overall an OK arrival
...
It was not dramatically different. The presentation seemed more elegant than the actual accomodations but the price was reasonable.
...
Smooth

We needed help with finding a restaurant and the clerk on the last night ended up recommending a great neighborhood place. We had a great time there.

The breakfast part of the bed and breakfast was awful. The coffee seemed instant and the choices were slimmer than expected even for a continental breakfast.

modest, clean and convenient to the transporation system

The only thing to remark, a little noise from the bathroom.
...
Well organized, smoothly and feeling wanted back.
Thank you!

Always polite persons to take care of you in the reseption.
Very tasty breakfast and persons keeping the breakfast-room tidy.

A nice hotel where you feel comfortable, nearby a lot of nice restaurants and pubs as well as shops,---and within short distance to every historical places in Rome.

People were pleasant, breakfast was good, place was very clean. The airconditioning was not very good: portable unit that vented out the window. The window had to be left open for this venting process because there wasn't an outlet drilled through the glass or wall...in other words, we were trying to aircondition the entirety of Rome when the temps were max heat wave >30C! That aside, were were pleased with location, cleanliness, service, price...thank you
...
see above...it might be helpful to let people know which side of the train station to exit on....we got lucky...

excellent restaurant recommendation for dinner by desk man...just what we wanted and needed with the children and for ourselves.
...
Fairly convenient, although perhaps a bit scary at night because of so many people on streets...I felt safe, but my sister didn't. (I have traveled a lot more)...for me it was clean, close, and pleasant...just needed better air conditioning!

Day time manager, Luciano, was a huge help to us throughout our stay in Rome. I was very impressed by the attitude of the staff and the ambience of the hotel. It also has an excellent location that should be highlighted more on the website perhaps.

We were greeted warmly upon our late arrival (11:30 p.m.) and were given a map of the area, complete with directions to the popular sites in Rome. Very convenient!

The window in our room looked out over a busy side street, so it tended to be noisy. A lot goes on in Rome throughout the night!

It is a shame that there is no relaxation/play room available. It would be nice if you could play cards or something else with fellow travelers when it is raining.

I failed to take a copy of the map with me as I found what I had printed off didn't conatin one. I accept that this was entirely my fault but it might be an idea to include that map on the voucher which it is less likely that people will forget to take.
...
I would describe the Hotel Mariano as an ordinary Italian Hotel close to the station in a slightly run-down but tolerable neighbourhood costing a similar sort of price to competitive establishments in Rome(but nowhere near as good value as similar hotels elsewhere in Italy). There is a decent trattoria next door & other trattorie & pizzerie nearby.
