I was surprised to see that Ivan&Arianna were in the courtyard waiting for us!
Ok, they don't have a big sign at the entrance, but if you're looking for the street number is impossible not to find Malu B&B

Ivan took care of us till the first moment we get there. Even if we arrive earlier, he gave us the room we asked for.
The room was large, clean and nice.
He asked what we prefer for breakfast.
In the morning Ivan brought us breakfast and fruits and waffers.

Our check out on the last day was early in the morning (our flight home was at 8:00 AM so we had to take the bus to the airport at 5:30 AM), so Ivan asked us if we want some sandwiches.

It was a lovely place, cosy. The building is an old apartment block with a nice inner patio (that has a pond with fishes), but the rooms are beautifully decorated. And the best was the staff, very kind and helpful at all times.

It is a well hidden secret. The directions and photos on the online publication were very helpful. I recognized the place from the online photos. The owner's were there to greet us and quite friendly.

This is the perfect place to hang your head after a busy day of seeing the beautiful city. It is very close to the train and metro station yet, very quiet. The room is simple, fresh and equipped with ensuite restroom w/ big towels. Breakfast was perfect with fresh coffee, cheese, prosciutto, sweet bread, and juice.

Just as easy as checking in. We were also able to leave our luggage for a few hours until our afternoon train departure.

Highly recommend. This is no fancy Hilton but, rather a cozy,welcoming place well worth the price. There is room service which is the lovely breakfast brought daily to your room with a smile.

Although we arrived late, we were welcomed with open arms which was reassuring as we are always nervous during any first visit to a major city.

Our stay was excellent value for money, particularly when you consider that the location was only 5 minutes walk from the main Stazione Termini.

Negatives - only one, the Malu Bed & Breakfast sign is very, very small and can easily be missed (only displayed on the outside security buzzer).
Positives - many, the rooms are warm, comfortable, quiet and very clean. Eating breakfast on our balcony overlooking an 18th century court yard was a real bonus.
Friendly hosts who went beyond our expectation ensured our stay was a memorable one (the wine left in our room on our last night was the cherry on the cake).

Had no problem whatsoever in finding the Malu. In fact, we arrived early and were still welcomed by the helpful owners.

Despite the negative comments about the lack of tea and coffee making facilities we read other users' comments and took our own travel kettle. The air-conditioning and mini fridge were brilliantly beneficial given that Rome was experiencing a heat wave during our stay. The room was always clean and well maintained.

We did not leave Rome until 6pm.There was no problem leaving our luggage with the owners until later in the day, despite checking out at 10am. And we were not charged by the owners for holding our cases.

A lovely B&B in a ver good central location in Rome, only 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum and 2 minutes to the nearest metro station. Although the location is so central the B&B is in a quiet court yard set back from the road. If you are looking for friendly service in a convienient location at a good price then this is a very good choice.

The breakfast trolley provide by Maria every morning was very appealing, with an excellent selection of items to set us up for the day. Delicious! The rooms were serviced every day and were a welcome sight at the end of full days of walking around Rome.

The landlady got a friend to speak to us in English on our arival. She provided us with information on transport, a map of the city and directions for walking. This was very helpful. She also supplied her number if we had difficulty.

It may be helpful to let people know they do not have to take Terravision Shuttle but it is very easy and cheap to make way from Airport by bus and metro.

When we arrived at the courtyard, we were met by a security guard who had to take us to the owner of Malu. If the security guard had not been there, we wouldn't have known where to find someone. A room number would have helped.

Malu Bed and Breakfast is a good starting point for exploring Rome. It is close to the train station, with a few small cafes on the surrounding blocks. The city and tourist busses are just down the street with plenty of minor shopping available in local shops and in the train station.

The lady was very helpful and treated us like family (I could speak reasonable Italian) . Nothing was a problem for the hosts and they gave us many sightseeing and dining advice.

We arrived in torrential rain and the owners assisted us with hanging wet clothes and offered a warm drink.

We are experienced and mature travellers in our 50's and found this hotel an absolute delight, especially when compared to some other establishments we have experienced. We were suprised to find a fridge, hair dryer included and the room was facing onto a lovely courtyard.
The owners were extremely hospitable and helped us with planning our itenerary.
We are recommending this place to all our our friends as a must to stay when in Rome.

The location was amazing, we were expecting some what of a walk, however it only took us 3 mins to walk from Roma Termini to Malu. Both Maria and Arianna greated us with great smiles and helped us settle in. Arianna walked us through the sites on a map, the transportation that we could use, recommendations for food, etc. She was very helpful to us on our first day in Rome. Both of them were always available to us if we had any questions.

Our stay at Malu was awesome. The place was cosy, Maria had asked us what we would like for breakfast each day when we had arrived and every morning, promptly at 8.30 (the time we requested) she would knock on our door with our breakfast. The breakfast was basic but delicious and it was good to be able to eat in our room. One evening when it was rainy and I was very cold, Maria looked at my state and without saying anything brought us extra blankets and a bottle of wine to warm me up. We immensely appreciated their hospitality, in fact we stayed at several places during our 2 weeks in Italy and, both my husband and I agree that Malu was the best. The room and bathroom were a little small, but it was what we expected for Roman standards.

Check out was a breeze. Maria checked up on us the day before we were scheduled to leave to see if we needed to get breakfast earlier than usual. We also had the option of storing our bags there after check out if we needed. We paid in cash as agreed and were given a receipt, check-out took around five minutes.

Malu was clean, comfortable, cozy and hospitable. The quality of service was great and the location was unbeatable. We were so close to both the bus and train transportation that it was an ideal base to explore Rome. I would definitely stay there again for its hospitality and location.

It was our smoothest arrival that week. The airline had lost our luggage for 5 out of the 7 days we were in Italy and thankfully, they had kept our bags until we arrived.

We've followed the directions and had no problem finding B&B. We've received kind hospitality. Ivan helped us by giving directions for the city sights and transportation. Rooms are nice, spacious, clean and safe. Our room was with bathroom, which was recently renovated. Breakfast was great, served in our room: we were asked what we prefer for breakfast and got exactly that. The location is fine: walking distance from city sights, also close to all sorts of transportation (train, buses, metro).

The owner of the BB was there to meet us when we arrived. She showed us everything we needed to know.

The Room we stayed in was basic but very adequate and very clean. The owner that runs the BB is very nice and very helpful. I would recommend anyone staying there if all they want is a place to put their head down after a hard days sightseeing.

we knew that we were arriving the B&B around
11:30pm so I had sent them an email in prior
letting them know in my approx arrival time.
Hence there was somebody waiting for us at
the gate and the check in process went

We really enjoyed our stay at Malu bed and breakfast. The accommodation is simple but clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The B&B is conveniently located near the main train station and there are a number of good value restaurants near by. The building itself is quiet and restful after a long day's sightseeing.

I felt that the description of breakfast being a 'pastry basket' was under-parr. Every morning a breakfast try was brought to the room at a time of our convenience with a pot of coffee each, a jug of fresh juice, bread, cheese, jam, chocolate spread, croisants, hot milk etc and was different each morning. Hot and fresh and prompt timing. I was pleasantly surprised, better than I had anticipated.
It is also very good that there is no curfew. With the keys they are happy for you to come and go with ease. It may also be worth mentioning that they location is excellent for walking to most of the major sites in rome and the B&B is located in a street with some excellent restaurants in. We ate at 2 restaurants in the street where the B&B is located and they are not typical rome prices and the food and table service is simply excellent.

If you are intending to truely see Rome, out every day and want somewhere central where you can access on foot and not spend the earth then I recommend this B&B. I think the family care very much about your experience staying with them, the owner gave me a small gift of a rome clock when we left and a note to thank us for our stay! What more can be said?!

It is important to advise Malu B&B of arriving time as this ensures you are met. We were helped by people on the street to locate the B&B because it has a small entry on a board at the door of premises - this is not easy to find.

The owners were exceptionally helpful with everything from moving our luggage to directions on where to par. They also looked up the address so I could return the rental car, and gave me clear directions on how to get there. Couldn't have been more helpful.

It is fairly basic accommodation, but very clean and well kept. Very close to the main train station and access to the subway. Air conditioning was a bonus we hadn't expected.

We left very early to catch a flight and the hosts provided a breakfast the night before so would could eat before leaving. They also informed us about an airport strike, helped us organise taxi's, told us to call them if we had trouble at the airport and they would help us anyway they could. Fantastic service all round.

It is set in a building that houses several other B&B's. The hosts live in the same building are are therefore easy to contact. Parking is a bit of a problem but you can park about 0.5km's away in a multi-storey carpark if none is available near by.

Malu is located by the Termini (Central Train Station). I had read some negative comments about his area on the net but we felt safe in this area. I think in previous years it could have had issues, much like New York, but during our stay everything was fine. Do not however expect to be staying in a high class area.

Our booking voucher stated that we had an en-suite bathroom which is what we wanted. This was not the case as the bathroom, although sole use, was separate and down the corridor.

Our stay at Malu was very good. Malu is a short walk from the rail terminal, out the station across two roads (three if you count the street it is on) and is to the west as you leave the station facing south.
We arranged to phone from the airport to give an accurate time of arrival as you are met and escorted to your room. Room was spacious airy and ideal for our stay. Ivan(from the B+B) met us, took our order for breakfast and gave us a map of the town centre; Ivan was very helpful and recommended eating places, that we can now recommend, and the must see tourist areas.
This is cheap good accommodation and as such expectations were met well, all the areas of Rome are easily met. We were in a courtyard off the main street, the only noise problems were the rain water dripping outside (nothing can be done about that - nature) and a cat calling; the windows are double glazed with external and internal shutters, an air conditioning unit is installed (not used by us as cool enough) and the radiator provided good heat if wanted.
Got a present on Easter Sunday - an egg courtesy of Malu, very nice.
We got a Roma Pass from the station (20 euros each) three days free travel, first two venue entries are free (not Vatican!), watch the queues at the main sites as the totes push in the 'Pre Paid' queues as they have 'pre paid'!! not sure they have that right, but as they look and act official people just let them in - not good. You can pre pay entry and I am sure it can save you time.

Well located, near Termini Station where you have buses, trains, etc.
The owner was extremely kind and polite.
Breakfast was ok and you were free to ask them to bring it at different times.
Small bathroom but very clean and totally new which is very important to me.

The lady greeting us did not speak English, but was able to call someone that did.

The room was not as spacious as I was led to believe by the website. Also, while a very basic breakfast was included, there was no where to actually eat it except on your bed.

Compared other accommodation for the same value the Malu is overpriced.

1. Walls are very thin and noise from adjoining rooms can easily be heard.
2. The room is really dark, even when the window and curtains are opened.
3. Toilet is very small
4. You have no choice but to eat your breakfast in bed (there is no choice)

Small room with a bed and bathroom, inclusive of uninspiring breakfast that you need to eat in bed. Just a room to sleep in, don't expect anything else.

This is the best bang for your buck in Rome! We stayed here for the beginning portion of our honeymoon before we took a cruise and they were very accomodating. We even decided to come back and stay there one more night after our cruise. It's very basic and clean -- no frills -- BUT you do get a very good breakfast every morning -- so much in fact you can pack some of it for lunch. It's 2 blocks from the train station and on a nice block. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it highly!

Maybe a fan or portable air conditioning would be useful for the summer, as we slept with the window shut because sometimes people slammed the main doors, which woke us up. With windows shut it was very quite.

Friendly, safe, very neat and clean. Great location, easy to visit most tourist spots from and not far from main station.

I did not see the directions published online, but we were able to find the B&B by the address, although once you find the address there are a number of apartments and other B&Bs and it is difficult to determine where to go. We did meet the owner in the courtyard, but weren't sure that he was there to meet us or just happened to be there. He didn't speak English, but quickly located his son who did.

Ivan was very helpful and made reservations for us, explored tour options, called taxis and was always available and eager to help.

That the B&B is on the fifth floor. There is an elevator - very old, that only holds one person and a suitcase, or two people at most.

Very basic, but very clean. Very close to the train station which makes it easy to get around. Really helpful and nice owners.

The accomodation was very good and convenient for the Train Station. We were a little confused at first because we found the area where the property was but could'nt see a Bed and Breakfast type building. We asked in a nearby buisiness and they pointed out a panel of doorbells beside a doorway. The doorway is permanantly closed and encloses a very nice courtyard but it is not obvious that the accomodation is there. In fact we were contemplating having to find some other place to stay. Other people had the same problem as us.

we arrived very late..around 2:30am, due to a delay in flight time...they waited up to let us in and were most accomodating at that hour.
