The hotel staff was wonderful! ... Very, very pleased with the hotel! Would definitely recommend to others and stay there again. ... By far the best hotel experience we had in Italy, very quiet and peaceful, yet in a fantastic location. The staff was particularly cordial and we were sad to leave our beautiful room.

Our arrival by taxi left us at the to of a hill and we had to walk down a narrow alley to the Hotel. The entrance was clean and we received a very nice welcoming from Luggi. Checking in went smooth with no surprises. ... Our stay was so wonderful that we changed our other plans for the rest or our stay in Rome to spend more time at Hotel La Rovere. They were so accommodating. The owners and workers couldn't have been nicer. The Hotel was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. Our party of 4 has a memorable stay at Hotel La Rovere Rome. ... Check out both times went off without a hitch. A taxi was called and waiting for us when we were ready to leave. ... Maybe just that coffer is not free flowing anytime of day. Morning coffee is all one can have in this Hotel. ... This Hotel was clean, comfortable and they all made you feel at home. This was like some B&B's that we stayed in near home. If ever in Rome I know where to stay.

Very smooth. ... Very nice, very good. Would wish for a slightly softer bed, but that's a minor point. It was nice and firm. ... Given the cost of hotels in Rome, I felt quite satisfied, as I liked the staff, the property, and the location. ... The staff is particularly helpful with any question or request. ... Friendly, comfortable, clean, and in a good location for anyone wanting to get around easily by foot, bus, and/or taxi.

Friendly and helpfull welcome. Called the hotel when we arrived at the train station in Rome and the porter organised a taxi to pick us up at the station, he was very helpfull. It was worth the extra 20 euros to get there hassel free. ... Very nice, clean and tidy room, exactly as on website. Excellent location for seeing Rome on foot. Very helpfull and friendly staff. All the staff have good to very good english. ... Excellent location for seeing Rome by foot. Lovely clean and tidy rooms. It is very near the Vatican and also within 15mins walk of all the great restaurents in Trastevere. Good value for money and friendly staff. The breakfasts were basic, nothing fancy, cereals, croissants, juices yogurts etc, but thats if I have to be picky. All in all a very good place to stay.

My only concern is that the room, especially the bathroom, was really small. ... A very pleasent, friendly, nice, centric and clean hotel but with small rooms and a bit expensive.

Staff were efficient and courteous. ... We unexpectedly had a lovely triple room with a balcony and a view. This added much to the pleasure of our stay. ... Our walk each evening to and from the delightful restaurants in the Trastavere district took about 15 minutes and were very pleasant, especially when we stopped off at a little bar on the way. The walk up to the hill above the hotel in the Janiculum area offered superb views over Rome. ... Stay there, especially if you are offered a room with a balcony.

Very little closet space. We were staying for 14 days, so had a lot of clothing with us which made it difficult to store neatly. ... Excellent location. Many excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.

The elderly gentleman was very helpful, even though we arrived too early for check-in. He was warm, told us directions to where we could spend some time before returning to check in, and reassured us that all luggage will be waiting in our rooms when we return. ... We are very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, spacious and the staff very courteous. The breakfast was much more substantial than normal continental breakfast. We especially like the fact that the rooms were air-conditioned considering daytime temperature often exceeds 38 degree celsius. ... Room 401 and 402 are large deluxe doubles on the top floor. Both are very spacious and lovely. 401 may be a bit quieter since it doesn't face the main street. ... Nice and cozy. Good location. Helpful staff.

The web site did not explain the somewhat obscure location of the hotel - this however we found to be an advantage as the hotel was in a quiet location for the centre of Rome. ... The hotel offers a quiet location in the centre of Rome - it has a small number of well appointed rooms that are air conditioned - essential! Ask for room 101 which also has a balcony.

The family and staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Our first night there, we were getting over our jet lag and missed dinner and it was much too late to get food. The night desk man was sympathetic and he gave us a snack to tide us over. It was a VERY kind gesture. ... Clean, conveniently located, and very friendly staff. The hotel is located to one of my favorite neighborhoods in Rome, Trastevere. Great little restaurants close by. Walking distance to most the great sites which was great because it was very HOT when we were there and it gave us a chance to rest and cool down in the afternoons before going out again. Also very close to the bus 64 stop which goes through the center of town and ultimately to Termini. The hotel is tucked away in an alley which was also GREAT making it a little more special and away from the crazy mobs of tourists. It was also nice to see San Pietro dome every morning.

Georgia was most gracious and helpful to us always. She gave directions, called taxis, helped get accommodations in Sorrento, and just chatted and was so friendly. ... The air conditioning was not as strong as we would have liked, however the weather was extremely hot during our visit. ... Charming, very inviting atmosphere. The most helpful staff. The hotel location is not as accessible to downtown Rome but is near the Vatican which was important to us.

I asked for single bed and got 2. It was corrected after 1 night. ... The breakfast was kind of minimum. difficult to get a second cup of coffee/tea. Orange juice of poor quality. ... Two bridges south of st. Angelo. Very near to st. Peter. Really quiet place of reasonable quality.

the staff were very helpful in booking us a taxi and giving an early morning call ... it is in a very good position for sight-seeing Rome, close to the River Tiber and St Peter's and within walking distance of Trastavere with several good restaurants ... We hadn't realised that the rooms with terraces overlooking the city were only at the front on the 3rd floor. We requested a room with a terrace which we got but it was at the back on the first floor, no view and a little dark, we couldn't change as there were no other rooms available. This was however the only problem we encountered. ... They allowed us to leave our bags in a safe room for the day until our taxi arrived in the afternoon. They also arranged the taxi for us. ... Yes, if you want a terrace with a view request 3rd floor at the front. ... Wonderful clean, friendlyhotel, in a brilliant location and good value for money.

I have stayed here before, and I was happy to see the same familiar faces again. The staff is outstnading in their friendliness and in making you feel welcome. ... The rooms are very clean and the property as a whole is always well cared for. ... The staff is very accomodating and helpful if you have questions about directions, transportation, schedules, etc. ... One nice thing is that to get to the hotel, one has to walk about 20m up a small street (really an alley to an American.) Since you are away from the main streets, the noise level from traffic is much lower than other places I have stayed, and it adds to the feeling of privacy.

Georgia and Salvatore (sorry, if the spellings are incorrect) were very helpful and did everything to help us with transportation etc. They also made breakfast available to us before their normal time just because our tours were early in the morning. ... we arrived early and were aboe to get inot our room as it was available. this was convenient as it was pretty early in the day and we greatly appreciated getting to clean up and change before we got on with the day. ... The room we had was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. the breakfast was more than adequate and everything was fresh and abundant. the access to the internet was a nice welcome and was FREE. Very nice. ... It went well and we were emcoouraged to return. ... Quiet, easy access to busses (just a short walk across the bridge) A great restaurant next door...Sor'eva, It is a little pricey but it is consistent.

rooms to the back are extremly quiet, it's situated in a very small lane were you can only drive in from one side and therefore it is a bit hard to find ... although it is almost in the center it is a wonderful quiet place and you can visit nearly all sights by foot, the rooms are small but very clean, I would book this hotel again

The location of the hotel is a very short walk to Vatican, however it is located on a side street that was not accessable by all vehicles (ie, some taxis, mini-bus etc) so we had to walk up a small alleyway with stairs with our luggage to get into the hotel. ... Staff was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. They had a very good breakfast included in the room rate and made the effort to have breakfast early just for us on days we had to leave exceptionally early for a tour.

On arrival the desk gave me keys to a standard room. A complaint resulted in a superior room as agreed. ... Luggage was kept in the breakfast lounge, hardly guarded. Upon arrival when we saw the room we were somewhat disappointed. It was dark and shabby looking. It was very small and had a rather large terrace ...So it was enclosed by the other buildings and no view anywhere... but was quaint. The room and washroom were very clean and the bed was terrific. THe tiny TV was way too high up the wall in front of the bed. I don't know what that was about. ... As stated above...we were somewhat disappointed upon arrival. Felt that the room could have been fresher and more welcoming and bigger since it was called a 'superior' room. The staff were lovely and the location was quite desirable.Being within easy walking distance to most sights and away from the noisy street..hence quiet. For the price the room should be spruced up...new bedspreads, wall hangings.. and please lower the tiny tv. BTW the use of the word 'worse' seems a little harsh for question 11. I would say the property was 'not exactly' as described on the website. ... One is lead to believe that the rooms that are posted will look like the room you're getting. Ours was not and didn't look near as nice or spacious. ... Well located, nice staff,ok breakfast, good capuccino, small charmless room, somewhat expensive, clean, quiet.

I think I was expecting a double, but got two single beds. Can't remember exactly though, since it's been two weeks. ... Very loud room. I wouldn't expect the hotel to advertise that 'every motercycle in town used the front street as a shortcut' ... but it was loud. Not much they could do about it I suppose, but for 160 euro a night ... not worth it.
Re: question above, property wasn't bad...but my impression was that it would be better. It was nothing special. ... 160 euro a night was way to expensive for that hotel. I was in a bit of a bind though, so I booked the room. ... I think I had a double room, but it was two singles. Off hand, I can't remember exactly.
More pictures of the inside and outside of the hotel, to give guests an idea of the neighbourhood is something that I look for when booking online. It would really help. ... Not worth 160 Euro a night. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Make sure you get a room that's not at the front of the hotel.
Very nice staff though. Courteous and helpful.

The staff was truly friendly and helpful. An extra coffee in the afternoon, helping translate for a doctor's call, giving directions, calling taxi's. Nothing was too much for all the staff we met and we would certainly stay at La Rovere again. ... One of the staff speaks good German, two others speak quite good English. The hotel is really very quiet, being on a street that is not easily accessible to cars. It is also only a ten minute walk to Saint Peter's and perhaps fifteen into the 'old' part of the city. All three rooms we had were spacious and very clean. ... See above.

Seamless. They arranged a taxi from Ciampino. ... Room at back. Quiet, typical Roman-terraced view. AC effective. Good-size bathroom.
The hotel is beautifully placed for reaching the Vatican, Pantheon, or Trastevere on foot.
Breakfasts simple. Would have welcomed larger table to eat off. ... Easy stroll to restaurants of Trastevere. ... Small family hotel in best location. Quiet location. Charming staff. No frills, but if you're not looking for overpampering & glitz, you'll have a pleasant stay.
