Romm wasnt available at check in even thought he website said anytime. Took care of luggage but didnt offer assistance where to go and desparately needed rest/shower after 9 hour flight.
...
Asked about assistance on restaurants and couldnt really help. Didnt offer assistance other than a map on surroundings like places to go to eat, drink, see some nightlife, etc.
...
Small if you have two big pieces of luggage watch out cant open them at the same time when you a room with private shower. Take the good with the bad.

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming we would definately go back and
are recommending the hotel to our friends.
...
The hotel staff were very helpful in that they let us leave our bags in the hotel on the last afternoon of our stay in rome - after we had actually checked out. This meant that we could enjoy an extra day without carrying bags or finding a locker.
...
There is quite a high unmarked stone step into the bathroom which I stubbed my toes against.
This was very painful - I thought I had broken
them and they still hurt now.

I recommend that the hotel put something soft against the step e.g thick lino.
...
Definately - we already have.

Very good, clean central hotel. Small and characterful. Good location for anywhere in the town on Rome. We were travelling with a small baby, the staff were very helpful to ensure we had everything - a cot was in our room on arrival. There is a lift (our room on the 3rd floor), although there was one step from street level to the entrance of the building, staff were always available to help us get the pram up it without us having to ask. Also, the hotel is on a quieter street and had blackout shutters on the windows, allowing us to get a much needed good quality sleep before setting off on foot to explore the city the next day. I would definately stay at this hotel again and I highly recommend it to others.

We felt that the room was much smaller than that shown on the website. However we complained and were given a larger room from our second night onwards.

Rooms are small but clean and well equipped. The hotel is very central and conveniently located for the major atractions, particularly suitable for a short stay. The hotel is in a very quiet location.

The rooms were - clean and private.
The rooms were NOT spacious or quiet.
One room that I booked didn't have hot water for 3 out of 4 nights

My room was right on the street. The first night although fatigued from a trip from US to Rome I was woken at 2am by tourists singing on the street. It was very noisy.
...
Great location, but if sleeping is important make sure you don't stay in a romm next to the street

Our receptionist was very welcoming, and went out of her way to show us the local sights, providing a map and useful directions.
...
The rooms were spotlessly clean, and while my friend did have a smaller room, both were very good.
...
It has a wonderful proximity to the Trevi fountain, Palazzo Barberini, and was within walking distance of restaurants, an internet cafe, and the Metro. This was an absolute bonus. It was also a very safe area of town for ladies.
...
I would very much recommend the Hotel Julia. The staff were very helpful, and spoke very good English. The position was very central both for buses and the metro. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the area felt very safe. There is an internet cafe five minutes walk away. Some of the rooms were small, but everything was spotlessly clean.

1) We can not answer the 1st question because we used the pick-service provided by the Hotel. But, instead we can say that this service was so wonderful that we were able to go directly to Vatican while our bags were delivered to the Hotel.
...
Comparing prices in other Hotels in Rome, Julia has a very good value for money.

The Hotel is comfortable and is in a few
minutes of walk to the most attractions.
We do not feel that 100 meters closer to Spanish Steps, for example, is worth addional $100 charged by other Hotels.

Good, reasonably priced place to stay in ROME

We were picked up by a car the Hotel sent which was very nice as we did not have to figure out where to go. We loved our stay at Hotel Julia. It was in a GREAT location and very quiet, just off the busy streets.
...
The hotel room was very quaint. We really enjoyed our stay. It was great for the kids to have their own room but all part of the same room. Loved the little balcony.
...
It was so easy. The Hotel had arranged a car to the airport and check out was very easy.
...
A great little place just off the busy streets. It's small compared to Los Angeles standards but just lovely and a nice change from the larger, chain style hotels. It is in a great location and should we find ourselves in Rome again, that is where we will stay. Thank you Hotel Julia for a great stay.

Typical hotel for Rome, small but comfortable rooms, a little bit noisy but that is also typical for Italy. Very friendly receptionists. The hotel is perfectly situated in the old center near
Trevi and in the evening you can walk in
short distance to the interesting places, like around Pantheon.

Centrally located to many toursit attractions (maybe too many toursits.)Reasonably clean and quiet. Toilet too high from floor for American standards. Sometimes breakfast room too busy at peak times but the staff tried to manage as best the could. Room expensive by Italian standards but probably not for Rome. Overall, a good place for us in Rome.

The accomodations were more run down that I expected - especially for the amount of money I spent for the room. It was a little disappointing. The Staff wasn't helpful, they never knowed nothing about restaurants or other useful places in the city, except an older man who was really kindly, but he didnīt know too much.
One day I went out for visiting the city and when I came back at night at hotel they had cleaned the room but they 'forgot' to leave any bath towel. And I had to look for some responsible for preparing one for me.

...
It is really good situated because you could go walking to a lot of interesting and historical places at Rome. But it is not really a 3 star hotel (at least in Spain).
The Staff is not really helpful for visiting the city, information about restaurants...

We didn't like the room. It had one big
bed, and two individual beds crammed in. It
was too small and the window shutters
couldn't be opened. The window was in very
bad condition. The air conditioning
couldn't be kept on while out of the room,
because it required the key to be activated
(Rome was very hot all day. So you couldn't
come back to a cool hotel room to relax and
take a break from the heat in the streets.
Not being able to look out of the single
window was also very unpleasant.
...
The hotel had no charm.

Perhaps it would be more suitable to
travelers without kids. It is a plain
hotel, not a good place to hang out and
relax, yet serviceable if you just need a
place to sleep.

We were very happy with the Hotel Julia. We had a very adequate room at the rear of the Hotel which was very quiet and which we appreciated. Breakfast - Continental - good. Room service - very good. No bath but good shower. Most importantly, we found the staff very friendly and most helpful - one member booked a visit for us.

We initially were placed in a small 2 single bed room that had a very bad sewer odor. We asked to be moved to another room and were moved after 2 days to a bigger room that was a little more expensive---but had no odor. The staff was very understanding about the problem.
They have very small showers and no tub in most rooms. We were both small women (under 120 lbs each) and could barely fit through the door to the shower. It was fine for us, but many Americans would have a hard time being able to use the showers.

Was great, but we expected a suite for 4 persons. The room was a rather small, and it was obvious that it was a room for 3 persons, in which they had added one bed where they could.

Well good situation to access many parts of the City with short walks, while being fairly quite (a small street). (however, you must close the window to sleep during night, even in these small streets, it is quite noisy).

The hotel was basic and the service good. We were disappointed with the quality of our bathroom however, very small shower booth and we could only just fit in and out of the badly designed doors. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful.
...
The room was much smaller than the we expected with only enough room to walk to around the bed. No clocks in the rooms and we received a wake up call one hour later than requested, which caused us to miss the event that we went to Rome to see. I feel wake up calls are very important and should always be doubled checked when entered into the computer.

We checked out the day before our departure with the same gentleman who checked us in. He again was very helpful. He arranged for transportation for us to the airport and that arrived as planned.
...
The location of the hotel was perfect. It was in walking distance to all the important tourist spots.

The location was perfect. If I was returning to Rome, I would probably look for another Hotel in the same location because the room was so tiny. If the ceiling was not as high as it was, it would be too closed in.
