We loved this hotel, every aspect of it. If anything, it was undersold on the website. We were worried initially when we approached it because it is on a very busy street by the Quirinale, and we thought the rooms would be noisy. They were not; they were well soundproofed, absolutely beautiful, and well-priced. We've traveled to Rome several times and have stayed by Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps in the past. This location beats them all, in my opinion; it's close to everything. The hotel was beautiful, the people running it were awesome and we will definitely use it again. ... The one negative was breakfast. The food was fine, not great, but nothing to complain about, but the woman serving in the breakfast room was grumpy with us on two days because we arrived fifteen minutes before the end of the serving period. This kind of service is very rare in my experience in Italy; people are usually so nice and welcoming that it really sticks out when someone is grumpy. On the positive side, the area used to serve breakfast is a pizzeria next door to the hotel and apparently owned by the same family that owns the hotel. We arrive late and it was convenient to go to the pizzeria for dinner, which was open until 11:00 P.M. Even better, the pizzas were some of the best we had on our whole trip. They were fantastic. We really loved everything about this hotel except the grumpy breakfast lady, and we would go back despite her. ... The hotel is beautiful, though it doesn't look special from the outside. The lobby is nice but also not representative of the beautiful rooms. They are really nice. Ours (424) faced a courtyard and was very quiet, no street noise at all. Our friends were in 425, and their room did face the street, but it had a wonderful terrace and was well soundproofed so that street noise was no problem. These were both quadruple rooms, excellent for families traveling with small children. We travel a lot and have a hard time getting accomodated for our family of five. Hiberia gladly let us stay in the quadruple and did not charge us extra for the extra child. More importantly, the room not only had four beds but was very large and roomy; there was plenty for all of us. I can't say enough good about it. ... Because the results were good and because it was easy to locate family accomodations on the service. A lot of these internet hotel sites do not deal well with requests for family accomodations. ... Stay there.

transport from airport was arranged by hotel (at extra cost), was waiting for us when we arrived and dropped us at the hotel as arranged - no hitches - very good. ... room was small but very clean and looked newley renovated - was much better than I thought we would get for a 3 star hotel in rome. Breakfast wasn't too good but was adequate, overall excellent. ... again , transport was organised (extra cost) and of good quality. ... just as above; clean, quiet, newly appointed room (exactly what I look for) excellent location. would recommend.

Taxi pickup was exact, although we didn't get it confirmed before we left. Taxi price was different from the one communicated via the phone. ... Breakfast room stored food in too high temperature. They should use ice or coolers. - Excellent hotel, although not cheap. Recommended! ... Everybody spook excellent English. The staff is very friendly and the rooms of extreme good quality and cleanness. The TV remote was broken, but fixed quickly after a complaint. The bar is not much, and hardly usable. The location is fabulously central and possibly one of the best in Rome. ... Very nice hotel in an excellent location. Good service and reasonable breakfast. High prices, but then again this is Rome of course.

I stated in the reservation that the we visited the hotel with 5 persons. There were only beds for 4. Our youngsters shared a bed. ... Comfortable. Convenient located. Good breakfest.

The taxi was waiting on time - a very good service. We were also given a choice of rooms.
... The picture on the web site shows a main road right outside hotel. In fact it is in a side street, which we were pleased about. I nearly didn't book the Hiberia because of the web picture! Everything was fine, especially the view from the room. My only criticism was the self service coffee machine in the restaurant producing average coffee. Would have liked a higher quality coffee. ... The taxi was on time and our baggage which we had left in the room on the hotel's instructions, was waiting at reception for us - a very good service. ... Better to show an external view from a typical hotel room than the 'main road'! ... Ideal central position for all main tourist attractions, rooms in tasteful Italian decor with great views of the city. Very polite staff who speak good English. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Would return if visiting Rome again.

I arrived at 12 noon and my room was not ready. I was told that the hotel is full and the people in 'my' room had not checked out and they were somewhere out. I was told to wait 1 hour. So I took my son with me and we took a walk around and came back at 1 pm, but the room still wasn't available. So we sat down for about ½ hour and then this gentleman from reception came to tell as that a room has been arranged for us.

Staff was helpful and very nice. ... Very happy with the hotel room. However the common areas are a bit shabby. I only say this because people walking by the front of the hotel may be missing the very decent rooms inside. ... Very nice staff...helpful and polite (one clerk was a bit crabby at checkout though.) All in all no complaints. ... Excellent location. Great...right where a tourist should stay. Easy to get around...in the middle of everything important to classical Rome...walk to the Forum, etc. ... I'd highly recommend it to any friend looking for a decent, basic, clean, friendly, well-located hotel in Rome.
We will be back in July (we've booked 6 rooms). Thank you.

We received a warm welcome and were offered a choice of a double and a single room as booked or a 2-room suite at the same cost. We chose the suite which was not quite ready and were offered a free drink at the bar while we waited 5 minutes. ... I would be happy to stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others.
The old lift took some getting used to and was quite slow but added to the charm of the hotel. ... Small, friendly hotel with comfortable rooms walking distance from the Forum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon.

The modern lift from lobby opperates to first floor only. The 'antique' lift operates to all floors but access to this, and between the two lifts on the first floor, involves negotiating steps. This would appear to limit disabled access to a few rooms only on the first floor (and also to the breakfast room, which is down 2/3 steps. ... Clean, bright, friendly, with very helpful staff. Walking distance from Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevie Fountain and Spanish Steps. Bus routes nearby.

The room was rather small with restricted hanging space and too few coathangers. It was impossible to regulate the temperature of the room which at times was unbearably hot but if you opened the windows the traffic noise was bad.
There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The bar area was very small and uncomfortable and the drinks were very expensive. ... Convenient for sights but I would not recommend it for the reasons above.

The room was regularly cleaned and I really can not complain about anything but the fact, that there was no place really to hang your towels to dry in the bathroom. Besides that the room was fine and pretty good isolated. ... Well a little but maybe interesting detail is, that the lift to the upper floors is very old probably of the beginning of the 1900. Therefore it is small, made of wood and can not lift more than 300 kg. The building is in fact having flats of private persons at the lower floors so that the hotel rooms start really at the third floor. ... As a good place to stay, very central, easy to reach.

We stayed at Hotel Hiberia on 12th April and then again on 21st and 22nd April. The first night, our room was not as expected due to influx of people. There was no problem with this however, I was a little unsure about our return. I need not have worried. Our room was superb. Clean with a view. We were delighted. The staff were extremely friendly and our transfers were handled perfectly. With thanks Robyn Anderson

Arrnged cab. Kept our luggage all day. Good people ... Very good English skills. Super location. can walk to all the major sites in old Rome. We liked it better than the 5 star Hilton Cavillieri where we also stayed for a conference because the Hilton was so out of the way and inconvenient and expected 30 Euros to use the gym facilities.

The driving from the airport was a bit crazy but i would say that is to be expected in Rome. ... The breakfast was excellent and there was a huge range of food to choose from. The room was very clean and spacious. Not all rooms come with a balcony and view, but when in rome the last thing you'll do is stay in your bedroom all day so it doesn't really matter. One problem was the evening restaurant next door. This wasn't the best. There were much better, reasonably priced, restaurants more geared towards tourist's tastes in town. One problem with the room was there was some condensation from the shower. The room could also get hot and we had to leave the windows open some nights in the middle of December. ... I had seen this hotel a month before and it was about 200Euro cheaper. But that was our own fault for booking on short notice. This hotel was still much cheaper than others and yet was of very good quality for a 3 star. I hope they stay that way! ... The breakfast was very good. You should give people an example of what you serve. You should emphasise the close proximity to all the tourist sites. They were very short walking distance which is great when you dont want to worry about transportation. I would emphasise the fact that the Vittorio Monument and the train station are so close. Perhaps also include information that there is a local Spar supermarket for some food and there are many clothes shops on the street around the corner. ... It was Very clean. I think cleanliness is the most important. The room was cleaned every day. It was almost in the centre of all the tourist sites that you could walk to. the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very polite. And the hotel provided many extra facilitites such as pick up from the airport.

Location is perfect! The room was not worth the price paid, but for Rome it was not bad at all. If you're looking for a clean, quiet hotel within easy walking distance to everything, then this hotel is a great choice. Try to get a superior room with a jacuzzi tub - it's a lifesaver after a long day of sightseeing, and can give you renewed energy to go out for a second round.

I did not use your directions to get to the hotel--we took a taxi from the train station. ... The room was small but adequate. The windows opened to the street, which had a lot of traffic zooming along it. Because the weather was cool, we kept the windows closed at night, and the double glazing did help keep the roar down to a low buzz. ... They arranged for a car and driver to bring us to the airport the day we left, and he was prompt and courteous. They let us charge it to the room, and it was much easier than schlepping our suitcases (heavier than when we arrived) over to the train station. ... The hotel is fine, although it is on a very noisy street. Also, we could hear people in the next room partying through the night the first night we were there. Luckily, they checked out the next day. The location is okay, but its proximity to Quirinale made it a bit tricky to walk places like the Spanish Steps--you had to go around Quirinale. The breakfast offered quite a bit of variety, but the service was a bit worse than indifferent--for example, dirty dishes were left on tables that had already been sat at, forcing you to find a table far from the food if you wanted it to be clean. At the end of the breakfast time, none of the tables were clean, although some of them were cleared--nobody had bothered to brush off the crumbs. We were comfortable at this hotel, but I would not stay there again. I would look for a better location for walking, a quieter street, and a place closer to a variety of restaurants. All that being said, the room was comfy, the water hot, the location reasonably central, and the price decent. Apart from the breakfast help, the staff were professional, spoke good English, and ran the hotel well. One final tip: the breakfast room is used in the evening as a restaurant with a street entrance--the food was mediocre, the gnocchi rubbery in a sauce that tasted like Campbell's Tomato Soup concentrate. I wouldn't recommend it.
