The hotel was beautiful and the view of the coliseum from our room was incredible. ... The staff were very helpful and cordial. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The resteraunt has an incredible view of the coliseum but the prices for the food are very high ... No problems with the checking out, no hidden costs, nothing. ... I'm not sure if it is mentioned but the hotel has no car park, the good thing is you can leave your car outside and someone will pick it up nd take it to a parking lot, the other bad thing its very expensive to leave it there. So I would recomend you not to hire a car unless you are planning to go outside of Rome. ... The hotel is wonderful, it is most likely that we will stay there again whenever we have the chance to go back to Rome

The beds in this hotel were absolutely horrible. All of them. The sofa bed was so bad that the couple sleeping on it had to sleep on the floor. The master room bed was hard as a rock and had a horrible bow in it where you would just slide in that position because it was bowed so badly there. The spare bed was the best as it was not bowed or anything however, it to was hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. ... I would not describe it because I would not stay there again!

We spoke with the hotel prior to arrival and they arranged transportation for us. The car and driver were waiting for us as soon as we picked up our luggage. It worked out perfectly. ... The property was probably even more beautiful than on the website. ... No. ... I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone and if we ever have the chance to go back to Rome, we would once again stay at te Gladiatori. We absolutely loved it and the staff. Everything and everyone connected to the Gladiatori was wonderful.

none ... none ... none ... none ... The Hotel Gladiatori is a small but beautiful hotel near the Colloseum with a great roof-top terrace for breakfast and dining. The rooms are tastefully appointed and the bathrooms are especially elegant --towel warmers and all. The hotel is comfortable, and convenient. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful park across the street and plenty of good places to eat in the neighborhood.

The service at this hotel was un-forgettable. The staff welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality. The accomodations were amazing. Very spacious, luxurious and incredible view. Our bags were very heavy and the staff carried them to our room for us, while we began touring ancient rome right out the hotel's front door. First we receivd a tour of our room and were asked if everything was to our liking. The answer was YES! ... We were in Europe for three weeks and the 'Hotel Gladiatori' and it's service was our favorite. We will be back! ... Everything went very smooth. The hotel Gladiatori was very helpful with loading our bags into the car. ... POSITIVE - I had several contacts with the Hotel Gladiatori via e-mail after I reserved my room through Worldby.com. I must have e-mailed them at least twenty times. I hope I did not irritate them with all the questions I had for them. However if I did they never let on. Bruno at the Hotel Gladiatori always e-mailed back with a detailed response. He helped with travel questions. Suggestions on tours and actually helped reserve tours for us in advance. He was truly helpful and very much appreciated. I hope with sharing this that I do not create future guests bombarding him with assiastance and help. But I could not leave it out of my comments it really did make a big difference on our stay. So thank you Bruno!! ... A dream! If in Rome it's a must stay!

Need clearer more concise direction for those who are traveling from Naples, etc. You only gave the address of facility ... Excellant service, and polite staff made this most enjoyable. Superior rooms are very nice and clean ... Ask for superior rooms that overlook the Collosium ... Nice, elegant

THE NIGHT STAFF MEET US AT THE DOOR. THEY KNEW WHO WE WERE BEFORE WE EVEN STATED OUR NAME. ... THE ROOM WAS PERFECT, HONESTLY I DIDN'T EXPECT THE ROOM TO BE AS NICE AS THE ONE ON LINE. IT WAS JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER. WE HAD A PERFECT VIEW OF THE COLOSSEUM. ... THE WHOLE TRANSACTION WAS VERY SMOOTH AND DONE IN VERY LITTLE TIME. THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH FOR 3 NIGHTS BUT WE GOT EVERY DOLLARS WORTH. ... PERFECT IN EVERY WAY, THE VIEW, THE FOOD THE STAFF, AND THE ACCOMODATIONS. WORTH EVERY CENT FOR THE VIEW ALONE.

I found this hotel to be of a great standard. The staff was extremely helpful and the general manager Bruno was, in particular, an extremely warm and friendly host. I would recommend this hotel and its location to any of my friends and colleagues who wished to stay in Rome.
... The rooms were very clean and the breakfast, in particular, was very satisfactory.
The only thing missing from the hotel , if I was forced to pick something , would be , that the rooms would be great if the TV had international(english speaking) channels - but this was not an necessity while I stayed there. It was a perfect hotel and I would have great difficulty in faulting anything about it. ... Both our checking in and out of the hotel was with ease and the transportation to and from the airport was reliable and on time. ... The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and even though the hotel and its location is on a main road with alot of activity , the staff promote and very calm and personal and family feel to this quaint hotel. ... I would describe this hotel as perfect.

The limosine driver sent by the hotel to pick us up at the airport waited nearly five hours for our delayed arrival. We didn't expect that degree of attention. ... A beautiful, well-situated hotel, with a gracious, friendly and very helpful staff - a wonderful experience. ... Stay there, it's worth it!

The staff at the Hotel Gladiatori was one of the best staffs I've ever experienced. They went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home. ... I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to travel to Rome! ... Excellent. ... The hotel was located immediately adjacent to some excellent ruins. The hotel is located within a short walking distance to superb retaurants. Additionally, the day and night time views of the Colosseum are better then those shown in the photos. ... I would consider Hotel Gladiatori to be the best hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at. The room and service were second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome.

the hotel also supplies a limo service from and to the airport at your request at the price of 60 euro, which i thought was very resonable. the service is excellent and i would highly recommend it! ... Our stay is the Gladiatori was very good. The Hotel was such a lovely place to stay whilst on our honeymoon. ... the american bar on the roof is slightly expensive and the quality of food is not what you would expect. i think you should recommend checking out a few restaurants close to the gladiatoi in the next two streets, use the side streets, don't go to bars or restaurants infront of the colesseum as you will pay three times as much for half the quality and portions of food. ... Most definitely!!!

My Mother and Sister stayed at The Gladiatori, I made the booking on their behalf. These are their comments: we were made to feel extremely welcome. We were personally shown to our room. The staff could not have been more helpful. ... As we stated in the Hotel's book, this is a gem of a hotel in a beautiful city. Perfect!Could not fault anything about it, only that our stay was too short. Nothing was too much too trouble for the staff. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the attention to detail by the waiting staff was excellent. ... Again, no problems with checking out, extremely helpful and polite staff who were more than happy to arrange transport to the airport should we have needed it. ... Only that it is in a perfect location and the perfect place to stay with easy access to all the sights. ... We could not recommend it enough and would definitely stay there again when we next visit Rome.

We were greeted by Bruno. He is the most wonderful person we could have met at the hotel. He took care of us like we were family. Valentina was also fantastic to us. I cannot say enough good about both of these people. They really took care of us! I hope they get to read this because they deserve to be rewarded for their service! ... I have to say that we did have one bad experience at the hotel that I thought was uncalled for. One evening, we had run out of beer and coke at the minibar, and I went to the hotel's bar to get a couple of beers and a couple of coke. The bill for theose two items was 44Euros! which is about 55 USD. I thought that was really wrong to take advantage and charge such outrages prices. I called down to complain and Valentina undesrtood and charged it like th eminibar. However, we thought it was out of place for such a nice place to try to take advantage of tourist on such a level. The hotel was too classy to do that. I suggest in the future not to do that to guest. It was a real turn off! Please note that I'm only saying that the hotel Gladiatori is too classy to have done that. It really was out of place to charge that much for a couple of drinks! ... As usual Bruno was there to say goodbye, and we were glad to see him. ... I'm not sure, but the room was really beautiful and most importantly very quite! We really needed some rest (coming from NYC) and we did get it at the Galdiatori! We were very satisfied with our room. ... Friendly, warm, and classy.

Wonderful, wonderful.THe reception was the best I have ever experienced. Very helpful explained every thing about hotel and any questions I had.
... My room was the exact one that was on the web site. I had a view of the coloseum in my bedroom and bath room. Everyone was so nice and service was beyond excellent. Breakfast was great. My daughter had her wedding reception there an the food and service was fabulous. Thank you gladiator hotel, Bruno and Paulo special thanks. ... a ride to the airport was arranged and waiting for us when we checked out. An easy and pleasent checkout. ... The view from the terrace is spectacular. The room was very quiet considering it is on a main thorough fare. The bed was very comfortable. The location is the best. We could walk to all the sites, and cafes near by were very good. A great park across the street and the coloseum is a stones throw away.
... The only place to stay at while in Rome. Well worth the price. A great place to hold a small event. People are so nice there. and it was very quiet and restful.

Very sweet, well-spoken man who's English was very good; and tolerated my weak attempts at Italian, graciously. ... Only one thing. The suite is right next door to the kitchen on the same floor. There is a lot of noise coming out of there until quite late (2:30 a.m.). The next night I put out the do not disturb sign and it stopped straight-away. I only stayed 2 nights. ... I got SLAMMED ($80 Eurodollars) in local charges for the phone line to hook up my laptop. No 24 hour/one price cable or anything like it offered. Just a phone line which will drop-you-and-clog-down-with-data until-it-dies-on-you service available. ... No lobby to speak of, if that is important to you. No Bar there or restaurant. Those are on the 4th floor with a VERY lovely roof garden. ... Good value in a great location. Do it! Just a few minutes from the train station...7 Euoros.

Very helpful ... The Hotel was great, the only bad part was the expense of drinks on the roof top garden. At €12 for a bottle of beer or Gin and Tonic, this was far too excessive to the point of ridiculous. ... No ... No ... I have recommended the hotel to two couples that intend to go to Rome over the next two months.

Very helpful and courteous staff. They assisted us in making museum reservations, getting taxis, and making train reservations for the next destination in our trip. Bruno even went to the store to get an electrical adapter for us. ... We stayed in a two room suite with Colloseum view. Rooms were very nice, clean, and quite spacious for Rome. ... The beautiful balcony restaurant is sometimes booked in the evening for private affairs. If someone was staying only one or two nights and those nights happened to coincide with a private party they would miss this experience. ... This hotel is very convenient to ancient Rome. We found that it was totally worth getting a room with Colloseum view, as it provides a very a very memorable experience.

This small boutique hotel was a lovely way to start our vacation in Italy. The room and bath were very clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very generous and the air conditioning worked great which is a plus in the summer. The view from the roof terrace of the Colosseum is spectacular! If you take a taxi there from the train station don't let them charge you more than $15 Euro. Our only complaint about Italy is the Taxi Drivers!

only problem was with the buffet breakfast which was included. on a Sunday morning, we arrived for breakfast 20 minutes prior to closing and there was no food, drink, not even a plate or a glass! a number of us stood there for several minutes, then went back to our table thinking they would bring more food. when we went back inside, there still wasn't any food, drink, plates or glasses, so we told the staff they were out of food. the staff member looked at his watch, told us we were too late and they weren't going to bring more food. we told them we had been there in plenty of time and we had thought they were busy preparing more food/drink and told them they needed to feed all of us. he was not happy at all. they brought out a few slices of salmon, and cheese and that was about it. we were terribly disappointed in the treatment and the lack of food. most mornings there was plenty of food, but will admit that the staff does not keep a check on things as they should. we constantly had to ask for them to bring more water, juice or whatever was lacking on the buffet table. this should have been done by the staff without guests having to ask every morning. ... Hotel Gladiatori is a lovely hotel, with very friendly, accommodating staff, and nice, clean rooms located in a convenient part of old Rome. Using the hotel's transfer service from the airport was definitely worth the money. Having breakfast on the rooftop terrace over looking the colosseo was a wonderful way to start the day and even end in the evening with a drink, although drinks are extremely expensive. We would definitely stay again if we return to Rome.

Booked limousine belonging to the hotel to be picked up from the airport at a cost of 60 euros. On checking out of the hotel we were told that we had to pay an extra 10 euros for the limousine because on our arrival we had only given the driver 50 euros, this was not the case so needless to say we did not pay the extra 10 euros. Driver also was not very friendly(maybe he could not speak English?) ... The deluxe room that we booked looked bigger on web site than it was . ... People should be made aware that on booking that the hotels roof top terrace bar is not closed due to them having a private party booked. This happened to us on our last nights stay and we had to go else where to eat, either that or room service was available in the room although we were told that this option would be delayed as they were busy with the party. ... Small, quite nice but extremely over priced. Cheapest bottle of wine on their list was £30.00. Great view of the colloseum from the terrace bar. (Im sure that this is what you pay for). Would not stay at this hotel again, im sure that cheaper hotels in the city would probably on the whole give you better service.

Because of a problem with our initial room, we were moved to an identical room on a higher floor. The hotel took the initiative on this a were most gracious about it (we were impressed). However, the new room was directly below the function room and right next door to the dishwasher for functions and the restaurant. Consequently it was quite noisy in the evenings, dishes being rattled and chairs moved around well after 11pm. All in all a very positive experience (even if we were let down the last night by when the staff forgot our turndown service). ... The outside is a bit disconcerting at first. It is not the most impressive buildings from the outside. Inside it is very nice as on the site. Also the area around the colloseum is not surrounded by an abundance of dining options. ... Absolutely fabulous view of the Coloseum from our 'panoramic' room and the roof Garden (probably the best view in room). The service was very friendly and the rooms very nice.
