In Ancient Rome, four barracks for gladiators were built near the Colosseum. In 1937, the ruins of the most important of these, the Ludus Magnus, were discovered between Via Labicana and Via San Giovanni in Laterano. The foundations of the barracks can be seen alongside the Hotel Gladiatori. |
As early as 1500 the Casino Guidi, a hunting lodge in the Guidi Gardens, stood near this ancient settlement. The historical building was transformed into a small but stately hotel from where guests can admire the beautiful monuments of Imperial Rome that surround them.
Good to know: Hotel Gladiatori offers also accommodation in its intimate romantic and independent annexe property: the "Roma Boutique" located approximately 3 km far, in via Toscana (close to the via Veneto area). |
