The desk employees were very helpful, courteous and pleasant ... Very nice buffet. Facilities were immaculately clean and well cared for. I would definately stay here again. ... On a hilltop, out of the city hubbub. Quiet and peaceful. Very restful accomodations with all of the amenities. Lovely grounds. Charming and comfortable.

The hotel was as expected, unfortunately not as quiet as I had thought, looking through the indications given
situation perfect ... Question 8, room good but unfortunately relatively noisy, balcony outstanding, ... Well positioned to visit Rome, for my view a little bit too noisy, unfortunately no in-house restaurant, but I was prepared from the advertisement

I have already recommended Grand Hotel del Gianicolo to friends telling that I found the whole experience to be exceptional. The location of the hotel is in an area that is absolutely beautiful away from the commotion of tourist attractions. Everything I wanted to see was very accessible by public or private transportation allowing a wonderful perspective of the city. In addtion, the amenties offered by the hotel were superior. The buffet breakfast was impressive. When I return to Rome, the first reservation I will make will be at Grand Hotel Gianicolo.

From airport to Hotel in Hotel taxi and vice versa. Very comfortable and efficient. ... Some literature was outdated. for example:- bus passes which were higher in price than the literature in Hotel quoted. ... More precice details about the opening and closing dates of the outdoor pool. ... I would certainly recommend and if We go to Rome again will certainly stay there.

We arrived about 1330, and had to wait for about 30 minutes for our room to be available. We were asked to wait in the bar, but there was no-one there and we eventually had to go to reception again to ask for someone to get us a drink! ... We enjoyed our brief stay very much. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. ... You should note that the hotel does not have a restaurant (apart from providing breakfast). ... Comfortable, and in a pleasant environment, away from the bustle of central Rome, but still conveniently located, especially for the Vatican.

Great location to bus to Vatican or City; no car needed. ... The computer that is available to guests, does not have an email connection.
The in-room 'spa' bathtub didn't work. This was important to us and a reason we chose this hotel. We did change rooms, but had lost 2 days of this benefit.
The swimming pool was closed for the season upon our arrival on Oct 5. This, too, was important to us and a reason we chose this hotel. ... More than a hotel; the staff treats you like family. It is a beautiful facility.

We stayed in room 107 - very nice, but a bit small. The staff was always very attentive and polite. ... Beautiful grounds and accomodations. Very polite staff, and excellent breakfast included.

For our visit the roof top patio area was in the process of refurbishment, but this did not affect our opinion of this hotel. When the project is completed it will provide an area for relaxation with outstanding views across the city. ... The swimming pool requires that one needs to wear a bathing hat. If you do not bring your own the hotel charges a massive 5 euros for an item costing 50p. ... A most excellent hotel to stay at, away from the centre but still near enough for a pleasant walk to the sites. Great facilities, including a pool which gives a much needed respite from the rigours of daily siteseeing. I would always stay here on trips to Rome from now on. A little expensive, but in comparison to other Rome hotels - worth it.

The front desk staff was a little brusque, with the exception of a woman named Virginia, who was most friendly and eager to engage in conversation--even to let me try to speak Italian with her. ... The Grand Hotel del Gianicolo is a beautiful property, with first rate accommodations. I was especially pleased with the comfort of the bed and with the lavish excellence of the breakfast buffet. The out of the mainstream location was also a plus, though there wasn't much information about getting around available at the desk, such as the quickest ways of getting to the center of the the city. We walked a lot and often got lost in Trastevere (which wasn't always a bad thing). ... The beauty of the walk through the Gianicolo park (the Garibaldi monument) and its pleasant proximity to the Vatican. And its proximity to the neighborhood of Trastevere. How,as well, one should get off at the 'Roma Trastevere' stop when taking the train from Fiumicino airport rather than going all the way to Stazione Termini and then taking a taxi back. ... Very good value for money as long as you are not afraid to walk a fair distance to see the sights of central Rome. (It was a much easier journey starting out fresh first thing in the morning than it was coming back uphill late in the afternoon.)

when we arrived the staff was somewhat helpful but a little abrupt but the proptery was beautiful. My sister and I wanted a room with two twin beds, we got a double room. They told us that they would fix this the next day. While we were out exploring Rome the next day the removed the double bed and put in two twin beds... ... The staff was a little abrupt at times but did try and help us. The hotel is very close to bus stop but very far from a metro station. It is a little hard to figure out what bus to take but once you master it it is fine. ... very easy check out ... The breakfast buffet is very good for europian breakast. The rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. ... It is very close to the Vacatian and if you can figure out the bus system you have it made. This is very hard to do at night but during the day is a breeze as itailian buses do not announce the bus stops. I would definatly stay here again. A very good price for high season hotel that is extremely clean in a very safe neighborhood

As a perfect place to stay if you want to combine big city vacation with bathing vacation when you have children. There is a very nice pool area and at the same time it is very close and with easy access to downtown Rome.

Very close to bus stops where the buses serve some of the most popular sights in Rome. No need for a car. ... The hotel was set in very well kept gardens where you could sit and relax. You could also lounge around the beautiful pool.Yet the hotel is so close to the heart of Rome. Our room was to a very good standard. The breakfast was good with a wide choice and as much as you required. We found the staff excellent.

We got a Cab to the hotel so we didn't use any directions ... We had a great time - the triple room was a bit cramped, but we travel with a baby, so I can't really blame the hotel for the volume of stuff that we bring! It is a great hotel, with good staff. The pool was a real bonus - far better laid out than I expected. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone who didn't mind staying a bus or cab ride outside of the main centre. ... Excellent ... You must wear a swim hat in the pool - a Rome regulation, not a Hotel one, but would be useful to know when you book. Breakfast is fantastic! Staff very knowledgable about the locality - where to eat, where bus stops etc ... Excellent hotel, just outside of the main centre with friendly helpful staff and a well organised pool area - a real bonus at the end of a day's sightseeing.

Very nice Hotel - nice amenities and location Very nice staff at the hotel
I did not notice the directions that you sent - it would be helpful to provide links to transport websites (eg train lines and times) with your booking confirmation. ... The hotel pool was very nice - bigger than indicated on the website. The roof terrace garden was not available to guests due to refurbishment work in progress ... Staff very helpful and flexible on check-out times ... A charming hotel, conveniently located with comfortable, clean, quiet rooms. It has a small garden and a nice pool

The road outside the hotel is busy and does not have a pavement. ... a very good hotel however if walking it is quite a steep climb back, but there is a bus stop right opposite the hotel. But probably the best holiday we have had and we would return without hesitation. Had we stayed in the centre of Rome we would have missed some stunning scenery

PRINTED INFORMATION REGARDING PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO AND FROM THE HOTEL WOULD BE USEFUL. ON ONE OCCASION WE TRAVELLED IN TO OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO CITY CENTRE DUE TO CONFUSION OVER BUS STOPS. A LIST OF NEARBY EATING PLACES MAY ALSO BE USEFUL. (IN OUR CASE, IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE) ... BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, SURROUNDING AREA GREAT FOR WALKING AND VIEWS OVER THE CITY.

In lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Average sized rooms but good by Rome standards. Great pool.Best breakfast in Italy Pool mand reception staff could be a bit arrogant but again it is Italy ansd service staff everywhere appear to have this attitude. Only downside is it is a bit far ffrom central rome and a cab is required unless wish to catch 2 buses or walk 45 mins to 1hr up hill

Receptionist in rear office. No bell and had to wait until she appeared; 5 minutes. ... Roof terrace not open. Pool side service poor. Staff pre-occupied by a wedding reception on the day we tried the pool. Pool area itself was good. Although staff generally friendly we felt that conferences and weddings etc took priority over hotel guests. Location good and only 10 minute walk into Trastevere and 30 minutes walk to Piazza Navona. Breakfast good. ... No problems. Baggage secured in locked room. ... Good hotel and location. For a capital city, good value.

The location is surrounded by noisy traffic. The description and the pictures can lead you to believe it is in a quiet location. ... A nice old luxurious hotel with a swimming pool and a good breakfast buffet at an affordable price on the hill behind Trastevere.

We felt that some of the staff could have been more approachable at the reception area. ... The bathroom was very small and confined. We had problems with the shower head but no-one repaired this. It was usable but made showering difficult when the head would not stay in place. ... Very good location. Good quality hotel. Rooms very small, particularly bathroom. Try to learn some Italian before going.

Our room was not ready, but another room was provided in the interim. The bellman took pains to have our room cleaned promptly and we were in it within about an hour. ... The hotel is nice appointed and very clean. The rooms are a bit small, but on the whole we would stay there again. ... The hotel made transportation arrangements for us that were very helpful.
Also, the breakfast provided with the room was excellent.

Very professional! Was a great experience. ... Nice property. We would go back and stay there again should we go back to Rome. ... We had a great time! ... There was only one little incident that was somewhat annoying. While we stayed there, one night there was an event in the courtyard until late at night. The music was very lod until about 12:30 at night preventing us from sleeping. ... Great place. Go back to it any time.

The service regarding internet access is not satisfactory. The staff solved the problem by letting me use the office computer, but it was still not what I needed for carrying out my business during the stay.
