Yes, The door knob to our bathroom was broke, {you couldn't get out from the inside unless you kept the door cracked or someone was on the outside}I told the front desk on Friday, on Saturday and on Sunday. It was not fixed and we weren't given another room to comdpensate us. When time for check out they didn't want to lower my bill. They did it but for about 20.00 lower. Which should of been more.

OK. Booked us in and gave us Maps.
A cheerful manner would have been nice.

The reception area was nice, although quite small. There was no lounge and no stairs only fire stairs, so always had to use the lift.
No bathropes were included.

Was able to leave our luggage till we needed to go home.

But then again would you get people to go there!

I would not reccomend to friends, Although the rooms were nice and the hotel was in quite a nice position for the sites and lovely restaraunts we found. The hotel was soleless.. The staff especially in the dining area were quite grumpy. I do like to have a lounge area, its nice to meet other people in the hotel, this was not possible here.

There was some confusion as to number of rooms we had reserved, but the staff was polite and quickly remedied the situation, and we were quite satisfied by their responsiveness. Georgio was quite helpful and polite.

This was the best hotel on our 3 city tour of Italy - Rome, Venice & Florence. Two couples stayed at Gambrinus, and we would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. They provided excellent local recommendations for dinner. We really enjoyed the full breakfast each morning, and really appreciated the free internet access to stay in touch with family/friends. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Hotel location is walkable to Termini bus/rail stations, but far enought away to be very safe and accessable to many restaurants, shopping and the Borghese Gallery. We have already recommended this hotel to friends!

We had a very enjoyabe stay in Rome. The area where Hotel Gambrinus was very well situated and within shoping etc. The organised tours were also very good with pick up and drop back. Very clean.

The taxi organised to take us to the airport was very efficient and good service

It wasn't clearly stated that although pick up was 4 Euros that you had to pay full price for the return taxi to the airport - I think this should be emphasised that only pick up from airport is subsidised.

Only small issues were air conditioning wasn't very good and it was really hot! Also we had a few ants in our bathroom that unless we dealt with them would have come into our bedroom....

THe air flow in the rooms was not great; but did not impact our experience.
THe receptionist on the front desk was fantastic. Her recommendations for dinner on two nights added unbeleivably to our overall experience in Rome. I would throughly recommend the hotel and you service.

One negative experience:
During booking, we got the information, that
we could get the transport from the airport
to the hotel for 4€ if we contact the hotel.
We tried email twice: no response. I phoned
and the receptionist told me, that everything was easy and no problem and that
we should go to the booths in the airport and that no arrangenments now are necessary to
get the transport.
When we arrived we found the hotel shuttle
service, and they phoned the hotel and offered us the transport for 12€ each, instead of 4€.
Only when we showed them the print-out and they phoned the hotel once again they agreed
to 4€.
If we had not insisted thorougly we surely
wouldn't have got this price!

Charging 20€ per day for the private use
of the fridge is outrageous. I understand
that a hotel doesn't encourages the private
use of the fridge, but 20€ per day...

The staff were polite but not immediately helpful. Every piece of information had to be requested, nothing was given routinely.

The rooms could only be accessed via a lift, there is no alternative of using stairs.

The Hotel is not as close to the center as description says

We did not get the room we booked. We asked for Capri, but nobody told us that it was not availible. The room we got was really small. brakefastroom was totally crowded. We could not have brakefast for 2 day in a row.

the images on the website lead you to believe you are in a large hotel with spacious rooms. The reality is that this property is a very small hotel with small rooms and no food services were available on some of the days.

very small rooms. Your key card must be left in the wall in order to get electricity and heat, so when you go out there is no heat in your room( in winter)! I would nor reccomend this property to a friend.
