The receptionist was very helpful to organize a walking tour of Rome. Since we do not speak Italian, it was most helpful that he spoke excellent English.

The hotel is simple but lovely. When you arrive in the hotel, the staff make you feel so welcomed and continue to do so throughout your stay. I would definately go back there if I was in Rome again.

A warm family type run business, who are there to make you enjoy your experience in Rome. The rooms are perfect for the price.
If you want the Ritz, then you are looking at the wrong place. However, if you want simplicity with great value for money and a caring service, then this is the place for you.

I arrived early but Barbara was very accomadating as she gave me a closet for my luggage and offered me toiletries.

I traveled alone and stayed in a single room. A large or overweight person may have had trouble with my room. The king size bed did not leave much wall space to walk from one side of the room to the other, but the bed was comfortable. Because of the time in which I stayed I neither used the air nor the heat. Again, the staff was most helpful and spoke english well. Barbara helped me arange my train tickets and checked on another personal matter for me.

Because we arrived about 12pm we had to wait in a lounge for about 10 minutes whilst room was made ready. It was not a problem to us though.

The room overlooked the street where the entrance was, so there was some traffic noise. This ceased about midnight but there is a market every morning in the street opposite the hotel entrance, so there is some traffic noise from about 6am. We also had a Queen size bed in the room which took up most of the room space, but as we only slept there, again not really a problem.

We were able to use an internet connection at the reception desk to confirm our return flight to UK and print off our boarding cards. The hotel did not charge us for this. The hotel does have an internet connection for use of guests for a charge of 1 Euro per 15 minutes. But it does not have a printer connected, hence my use of the reception internet.

CHARMING-THE FIRST DAY AFTER WE ARRIVED, WE OPENED THE WINDOWS AND VENDORS HAD SET UP BOOTHS ON THE NEXT STREET DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED TO SEE-HOW THE PEOPLE IN ROME LIVE IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. THE TWO RESTAURANTS WITHIN ONE BLOCK TURNED OUT TO BE THE BEST OF THE 3 WEEK TRIP. GREAT LOCATION IF YOU COMING IN MY TRAIN.

The directions from the train station to the hotel (on the web site) seemed simple enough. However, when I asked at the train station info desk for clarification, they directed us out the station's main entrance, across the parking/bus lot, then several blocks north and several blocks east. It took us about 25 minutes to drag our luggage this distance only to arrive at the front door of the hotel and see the train station just several short blocks away. Had we exited from the side entrance of the station the walk would have taken only 5 mintues instead of 25 - a considerable difference when hauling luggage. I realize that you are not responsible for bad info given out at the station but you could clarify what exit to use to make it more convenient.

When making reservations I had mentioned that this was our first experience in Rome and that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and would appreciate any help that would make our stay as problem-free as possible. Not only were the staff most helpful but a congratulatory bottle of wine was sent to our room as well - a most thoughtful and appreciated gesture!

Very nice people,I arrived earlier than check-in and my wifes plane was delayed 4 hours. Staff checked my bags, told me where to get a cab, how much it should cost and welcomed us with the room ready when we returned.

we were on the second floor and when some one was in the hallway or slammed a door you could hear it. Carpets would probably help, but it was not that big of a problem for us.

Good value for the price. After talking to several other tourist's over dinner. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area plus we had a privet bath where most of the other hotels in the same price range had shared baths.

1.Our double bed was two twins pushed together and sometimes we had a valley between them.
2. Several very nice, good food and reasonably priced restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel.

Don't expect the Ritz but clean, nice staff and very helpful.

Having booked over the internet and not familiar with the city, we were a little disappointed in the location - but that quickly resolved because the people were so nice upon our arrival and thereafter.

The people that worked at the hotel were so warm and nice. They had great recommendations of things to do with kids. However, we did not like the restaturant that they recommended.
The breakfast was outstanding!!! The nutella croissants were a taste of heaven. We will recommend this hotel to all our friends traveling to Rome.

I know it is not the hotel's responsibility, but it would have been nice if they had reminded us to check the room safe. As it turned out I had left all four passports in the safe and had to run back from the train station. We missed our train and ended up missing our flight. We had to wait 11 hours in the airport for the next flight and had to pay about 140 Euros each to get on the next flight.
Again, it is not at all the hotel's fault. I don't think any hotels remind you to check the safe. This might be a nice thing to ad to your check out.

the front doorway was dirty with cigarette butt everywhere.

it was a little noisy due to being located near the water pump and press containing the cleaning products.

don't be turned off by the outside go to the first floor,the check in is lovely. it is clean, tidy,safe and welcoming. there is a morning market in the street outside during the week and free limited internet access near reception. Breakfast was very nice.

I was surprised that Hotel Gabriella was in a building that housed several other hotels. It was a little confusing to us. The picture of the front of the hotel was not on the street as I expected.

We arrived at 1am and the receptionist was surprised to see us. There was nowhere on the reservation page to indicate that we would arrive late : this might have been useful to the hotel.

Taxi driver arranged by the hotel didn't know where the hotel was and got lost!

Unfortunately, our request to be waken up in the early morning to catch our flight was not answered - there was no one on the reception when we left the hotel.

1.there was no aircondition in the rooms as was stated in the accomodation description.
2.The receptionist demamded full payment at check in ,although it was clearly stated in the contract that payment is required by check out.
3.The entrance to the hotel is very poor and dirty.

The promissed German TV doesn't work. Only Deutsche Welle was receivable but without Tone!!

Had to keep asking for soap for the bathroom. They didn't automatically give it for some strange reason.

The 'waiting room' after checking out (where you would leave your bags if you had time to go out before you left) was not as secure as I would have liked. There is no control if someone comes into that room, since it is right beside the exit.

The air conditionner in our room was working but it leaked quite a bit of water. The first night, we didn't realize it and the water ran over the floor and we the bottom of our bags. The second night we got two buckets from the staff and caught the dripping water...but the dripping sound prevented my wife from getting a good night's sleep. We were told that the unit was to be repaired on the day of our departure.

There were 1 single bed, 1 double bed and extra bed. I think , It isn't room for 4 persons.
And the room was very small.There wasn't place for our suitcases.
