the website was very easy to use and gave us all the information we needed.

please see my comments above about the hotel. the only difficulty was initially with taxi drivers not knowing exactly where the hotel was, but after registering we we able to give them directions.

I knew what to expect as I have stayed at this hotel before, and in my opinion, the hotel itself and all the staff are absolutely superb.

A superbly elegant and comfortable hotel in a perfect location with the most polite, helpful staff that you are likely to encounter.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rome.

We really liked the Hotel San Francesco and the staff were really nice and helpful. The only thing would be to possibly extend the breakfast to 11:00 to accomodate late sleepers like us!
Thanks and hope to be back soon.
...
The only issue that I know you can't do anything about was the noise from the church bells! Sometimes they rang like the rapture was happening. Also the bartender on the roof was just the nicest Guy too. I forgot his name though but he was the only one that was bartending.
...
No problems. It was fast and efficient and everything was explained.
...
Ringing church bells, also lots of mosquitos were in our room and if you have the windows open you get bit a lot.
...
Very nice and friendly, small but quaint and affordable in a great neighborhood close to many sites.

The people at Reception were exceptionally nice and helpful, both on arrival and throughout my stay.
...
The room was very small, but well fitted out, clean and stylish. The view was superb, looking out over a quiet courtyard garden, and then over to the hills of Rome.
...
I stayed twice at the hotel, a week apart. Staff was very helpful organizing a cab to the airport both times.
...
Sumptuous breakfast in a charming bright breakfast room. Location totally walkable to all the major sights of the city. Located in a charming neighborhood where there is much to see close by. Good tram/bus connections to the Rome metro.
...
A charming, comfortable small hotel in a good location, convenient to all the sights. Friendly staff, small but comfortable rooms, good views and quiet location.
Recommended to me by a friend who visits Rome often and stays there regularly.

I thought the room aws very good, except for the strange plastic carpet tiles which looked a bit worn out.

The entrance to the hotel is rather discreet - not a bad fault - but we, consequently walked past it initially. Possibly the building works in the road added to the confusion (clearly not your fault!
...
There was very little to complain about in relation to this hotel. However, it is described as a boutique hotel and we feel that should extend to the rooms as well as the public areas. In our room, the bathroom was excellent but the furniture in the bedroom was old fashioned and stained. The TV had a minor fault. The breakfast was excellent, also, and all the staff were polite and friendly. We woud certainly visit it again and recommend it and your service and site to others.

None. All was as expected.

With the dollar being so low, it's hard to find real value for your money. The room was very small, but very clean.
...
Do not include shuttle to and from airport. The hotel arranged for a car to take us to the airport, but it was not a taxi, which is a fixed 40 euro - it was a private car which asked for 50 euro. The cab drivers in Rome warned us of hotels working with private cars and charge more than it is supposed to be. I brought this to the attention at the front desk and they agreed on the 40 euro. So in reality, they don't have a shuttle service at all and then charge you more than a taxi, when they can just call a taxi.
...
That is was a small 'boutique' hotel - very clean and a great location. Breakfast was very good and it felt like a bed and breakfast as opposed to a hotel, which was nice.

The hotel was lovely, room a bit small for three. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I would recommend Hotel San Francesco to my friends.

Bathroom was spacious and new.
Check out time was 11:30, so flights arriving earlier mean one has to wait around or find something to do until check in. We were extremely tired, having flown all night, but the staff tried to expedite the room cleaning and provided us with coffee and pastries.

...
Hairdryers are included in the bathrooms. Free internet access off of the lobby.

The roof terrasse was closed - probably because it was winter?
...
The hotel has no restaurant but there are several in a few minutes walk. It was possible to connect to a W-Lan in the hotel room.
...
Trastevere is defenetly the place to stay in Rome. The hotel San Francesco has a very good connection to tram lines towards the city and other places of interest. Even if you want to explore the city by foot - it took us about 20 minutes walk towards the Vatican City. You can get to the hotel from Leonardo daVinci Airport by normal train to Trastevere and then for a few Euros by taxi to the hotel or you could take the tram. The hotel is small and very friendly. The rooms are not the biggest but quiet and clean and have a good sized bathroom. We were even able to access the internet via a W-Lan in our room. The breakfast room is located towards an inner courtyard with orange trees. The breakfast itself was like an opulent roman feast. If you fancy some real italian food you just walk a few minutes and there are loads of very nice traditionell restaurant. In general a nice place to enjoy.

I had booked a double room for single use, expecting that would mean a double or queen size bed. The room i was given had two single beds. The receptionist acknowledged the error, and offered to move me to a new room the following day.

queing for breakfast was not good, staff at brakfast service friendly but a bit unorganised which made the queing worse
...
small hotel in bohemian Trastevere; brilliant views over the city from roof-top bar; best location to start your journey (by foot or tram) to the ancient Rome across the river or to nip down to have dinner in one of the many nearby restaurants (spot where the locals go for great food, because there are some tourist traps around)

I had emailed to ask to have a car sent to pick us up - it was waiting for us. I had also emailed asking if we could check in early as our flight arrived from Canada at 11am. Again, we were accomodated. That was great and very appreciated.
...
Very nice, clean bathroom.
There were double bed rooms and queen bed rooms that was not listed on the booking information. The queen rooms were also bigger. The double rooms are quite small. If that was listed on the web site that would be informative.
The roof top deck was in need of some updating - not like it was depictted on the website.
Great location.
Very pleasant breakfast room and great breakfast - staff were extremely pleasant.
There was a problem with wake-up calls. We recieved a wake up call at 415am one morning - NOT our request. The day we left we did not get OUR wake up call.
A clock in the room would be helpful - we had a travelling alarm clock with us - fortunately, that we set so we did not miss our flight.
...
Location is a little off the main tourist route, - which is EXACTLY what we wanted. But is extremely convenient to everything - we could walk everywhere.
...
Great location, safe, clean, helpful staff, 24 hour desk.

Excellent location not far from the historic centre both in terms of walking (20 min) and catching a bus/tram (5min), especially well placed for good value trattorias in the Trastevere area. Also easily accessable from the airport by rail link. Hotel staff were helpful. The room (and hotel) has a modern and slick design and was clean. Bathroom was spotless, with plenty of space and power shower. Breakfast was very nice with abundance of fresh fruit, pastries, a bit of cold meats and cheese, yogurts etc. Terrace bar is nice to have a drink at the sunset, after a long day of sightseeing, if a bit pricey. The only negative minor thing (although it did not bother us) was that water kept dripping from the airconditioner creating a small puddle on the floor at times, to be fair, hotel staff tried to fix it. If fixed completely, I would confidently recommend the hotel to anybody who likes comfortable, modern, good value hotels located outside overpriced tourist areas. San Francesco helped to make our Roman holiday special and care free.

When booking taxi through reception make sure that you ask the fare beforehand, otherwise you end up overpaying (as we did).

The website for the hotel says to go to Termini station by train, but in fact Trastevere station is closer.
...
You might want to add that breakfast is available from 7 to 10 am, which is very handy.
...
The room was small, but I understand that this is typical of Rome. I asked for, and received, a very large bed (I suppose it was a king size, but they called it a double; much bigger than a North American double), a refrigerator, and a bathtub instead of a shower. We also asked for a baby crib, but it was not there upon arrival. The staff quickly provided one, but it was not up to what I would consider North American standards, in that the corners were held together with rags and the bars in the corners were big enough for a baby to stick her head through. Consequently, we did not use it.

The location was good, not far from the 'action' of Trastevere, but in a quiet location. It is also very close to the bridge. You can walk along the river and get to Circo Massimo in 20 minutes.

The breakfasts were good, too. My only complaint is that the reception staff should be more aware of local restaurants. One really great pizza joint, Al Marmi, which would appear to be an institution in the area, was alive and well, despite the fact that the evening front desk staff member told us that it had closed! Good thing we finally decided to check on our own.

I wouldn't say the bathroom was spic and span (dust on the light fixtures, hairs in the tub upon our arrival), but it was good enough. And for the price (off season, 99 euros for a double), it was great.

We were satisfied and would stay there again (for that price!)

Rooms are quite small, but well-appointed. Very good bathrooms - very clean.

There is a church nearby whose bells are rung to indicate 15 minutes before Mass, and to indicate the start of Mass - light sleepers might not like it. It didn't affect me or my companion.

Breakfast room is quite small, so get there early :-)
