 The area was called in the 18th century Roman slang "er ghetto de l'inglesi" (the English ghetto). Now it is a homely area and an ideal location for exploring Rome by foot, as all major attractions - the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona - are in short walking distance. From Fiumicino Airport:
Leonardo Express No Stop train from the airport to Stazione Termini (Central Railway Station) leaving every 30 minutes from 7.37 a.m. to 22.37 p.m.
From Ciampino Airport:
Take a bus called Cotral (buy the ticket in the hall from the automatic machine) - directions Metro Station Anagnina open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Take the Metro A direction Battistini. Metro Stop: Stazione Termini.
From Stazione Termini:
you can take a Taxi or Metro A direction Battistini. Metro stop: Barberini, take the exit for Via Veneto, Piazza Barberini. The Hotel Barberini is on your left looking the Bernini Fountain, take the first street on your right that is Via della Purificazione. The accommodation is almost at the end of the street on your left (from Metro stop to the accommodation: 150 meters). |
