We arrived exactly at the inauguration day of the new pope (the trip was planned half a year before, so we could not know). The access to the hotel was blocked by police for security reasons and the taxi driver was not allowed to drop us there. So we had to walk with all our luggage for at least 1 km to the hotel. There was my mother and my aunt with me, both almost 80 years old, and no police officer was a bit ready to help. I found that very rude. However, the hotel staff was nice and ready to help ... The location so close St. Peter is great. I would have liked a bit more space and windows with a view. My window was above my head, so I could only see the sky. The room was a bit noisy. The shower next door was loud and made me awake. ... The hotel is beautifully located. The price is alright but not a bargain. It is good to have a taxi stand at the hotel. Walking to the nex underground station is approx. 15 to 20 min.

The front desk people, young men, seemed to be bothered when asked a question. They could smile at the guest once in awhile. The showers are very small and I suggested that they install a small shelf to hold soap or shampoo as it is impossible to bend over and pick up th soap. The room was clean and the location was very good. The breakfast was very nice and they had a good selection. The service and personnel in the restaurant were excellent.
Thank you ... Showers are very small. Location is excellent for Vatican area. Very good restaurants near hotel. ... Good value for the money but take soap on a string.

Everything gone right and there was no problem. One room had balcony and we should pay for it 40 Euro, but it was really funny, because we couldn't sit down on that small balcony. As we left and did pay our rooms the manager was very kind and we didn't pay for the balcony. ... Unfortunately the roof garden was closed, because of renovation. We decided for Emmaus hotel, because we saw the beautiful photos from the roof garden to the Vaticano, but at this time we had no chance to visit the roof garden. ... The hotel is nice and clean and very close to St. Peters church.

The voucher stated the hotel rooms would have air conditioning. Well, there was an air conditioner hanging in the room, but it was explained that the hotel is so old that the power grid cannot accomodate air conditioning. That was the only problem for me and my guests. ... Air conditioning would have been nice. I am happy that we did not travel during the summer. It would have been miserable. ... Air Conditioning. ... Spacious Dbl and 2 twin hotel room 5 minutes walking distance from the Vatican.

While the check in was straightforward we did not have any help with our luggage that had to be brought upstairs. The receptionist was polite enough considering the language barrier. ... Not worse as in bad. It just didn't have the superb view I had imagined, therefore not exactly as on the web site. ... check out was also straightforward but did not get any help with arranging our onward transport. However it was extremely easy to get taxis from outside this hotel. ... Although the property was clean and provided enough comfort for a short stay I would have rated it as a 2 star hotel more so than a 3 star hotel. ... Excellent location. Clean and comfortable enough for a short stay in Rome. Within easy access to everything you need and reasonable enough rates for Rome. However, I would only stay there again if it were a Friday or Saturday night as, we were awaken on the Monday morning by the most deafening traffic noise when everyone returned to work after the weekend between 7am to 9am. Sat and Sun mornings there was no noise.

This was my mother's first time to Italy, and myr first time booking a hotel via the internet. My mother & I were very impressed with you internet service & would definately use your booking servuce again. The hotel, was sparcely furnished, but very clean with very polite & helpful staff. The breakfast was always on time, very fresh and on the occasion when we had an early mornning tour, they provided my mother & I breakfast before the designated hour of 7am to our delight. All of the hotel staff were very friendly, polite and extremely helpful to me as I had a major problem with Tim Cell phone service which Luegi helped me solved to my satisfaction. My daughters were also staying at the hotel for the second time and they also had the same experience. ... Our foom were small, but cleaned daily with lined change. Would definately recommedn this hotel to others, and would stay there agin myself if my aim in Rome is to see all the religious sights. ... They are very kind to older persons. My moter and the hotel staff seem like old friends. She enjoyed talking to them, even the maids, whome provided hr woth clothe pins to hang her hand washing. I am at a lost as to how they communicated as the maids spoke only Italian and she spoke Spanish & English, but they seemed to understand each other to my amusement ... Great location to see the major religious sights in Rome, handy to bus and Metro service to get to the expensive shopping area.

I loved the Emmanus Hotel. It was located close to the bus, and centrally located to all I wanted to do while in Rome. It was small, quite, very clean. I will stay there again when I go to Rome. I liked all the little shops within walking distance. Very happy. Thanks for making it possible. Linda Blair ... The best value around. The quad room was just perfect, for 3 adults and 1 child.

We came by car and it was no problem to get a place in a garage close by where our car was save for the whole stay. we only had to wait 10 min for somebody to guide us to the garage. ... There is a lift, but not to all rooms.
... Absolute good location to many tourist attractions, public tranfer just around the corner, some nice little restaurants right across the street.

We picked the hotel in part because of their airport shuttle. We were unaware that it had to be booked in the future (not typical of most shuttles), so we had to arrange other transportation after 8PM. We were lucky that we pulled it off affordably. ... Good value, excellent location if you're interested in visiting the Vatican, worth a return visit.

Excellent location for St Paul's & Vatican (just 2 minutes walk. Bar's & restaurants close at hand.
No newspapers available or offered as stated on booking form.
Air conditioning wasn't very effective in the double bedroom but excellent in the single room.
Rooms could be noisy due to tiled floors and being located next to a road.
Double bed was excellent size.
Bathroom was very small and dark (no outside window. Shower cubicle was small/cramped. ... Excellent location for St Paul's & Vatican -2 minutes walk with bar's restaurants close at hand.
Taxi rank located directly outside hotel entrance.
... Basic but provided everything we needed from a city break hotel bedroom. Excellent location for St Paul's & Vatican (2 minutes walk).

Window did not close all the way, so we heard considerable street noise most of the night. It should be repaired. ... Conveniently close to Vatican, bus service, taxi, self-service laundromat. Some of these are listed on the web site, I believe. A good breakfast was provided. ... Friendly staff and in a convenient location.

Very efficient and timely. ... Hotel does not have a safe in the room and you must use the safe at the front desk. Hotel does not charge for local calls ... An ideal location if you are interested in a hotel near St Peters, but I think it is a bit overpriced. A 110 euros a night would be more in line with the both facilities and location.
The hotel is located in an established community in Rome that has all of the amenities a traveler would need, i.e., laundry, dry cleaners, stores, etc.

it was strange for us that when we ask the receiption to to order a taxi for us they did not want to do it. none of us speaks italian therefore we believed it is much easier for them to do it for their foreign clients ... the info you have is sufficient ... a typical 3-star hotel in an excellent location

One staff member was very helpful when we tried to hook up with a bus tour. Despite some problems, he made sure we made the tour on time. However, it would have been nice to have some more maps and tourist information about the city available at the desk. ... Good location for convenience, but very noisy due to heavy traffic nearby.

Pictures were focused on only a small portion of any view, e.g., bathroom tile, but not the size of the room or the ridulous size of the shower stall. No picture could show the ceiling fan being unduly noisy and attached to the same switch as the light, all of which made a night time visit to the bathroom an annoyance for the sleeping partner. ... Rooms in the front were noisy at night due to a outdoor late-night cafe across the street. It was too cold to use air-conditioning (if it worked) and to warm to lock the windows. ... Stay there if it is all that you can get. Breakfast is sufficient to give you a start; it is clean and friendly. Great location for the #64 bus which takes in most of tourist rome, and, of course, it is a short walk to the vatican.

There is a real problem with the water system in the building. Everytime someone flushed a toilet during the night it woke me and my wife up. ... Clean, average hotel very close to St. Peter's Basilica and also to at least one good restaraunt pratically next door. Bring ear plugs for the plumbing noises. The beds were excellent, the staff pleasant and the continental breakfast sufficient.

no one to help bring the bags in. ... It was not the best experience I have ever had. The shower didn't work properly, and there was water all over the floor. The beds were uncorfortable, and the rooms were quite small. ... Not a 3 star hotel

The plumbing in our room was old and NOISY. Everyone on our floor knew when we flushed because it sounded like a delivery truck taking off from our room. The banging was enough to wake everyone at night. Our friends room flooded when the shower drain overflowed into their room. They got a new room, but no courtesy for the inconvenience.
