I had forgotten that the payment could not be paid by mastercard. My fault entirely. The owner was very understanding in this matter and accommodated the need to get cash together. Much appreciated.

The accommodation was clean though the floor could do with a good wash, not just a vacuum.
The house was in an excellent position re train, eating and main tourist spots.
The house is quite large for Rome apartments.
The house had all requirements including a washing machine.
Towels and sheets provided were clean and attractive.
Very secure property.
Problems: Even though in a small, one-way side street it was quite noisy - possibly the case for most of Rome!
Most importantly, I had stated that we needed beds for 4 adults and a 16 month old child (ie a cot) We got beds for the adults but when we asked for the cot, the man said there was a bed on the couch -ie the couch pulled out into a bed. The couch was in the lounge room and was quite useless for a 16 month old child as were the other beds as the child could fall out onto the tiled floor! We had to take the mattress and cushions off the couch (making it uncomfortable), to make a bed that my grand-daughter couldn't get out of in one of the bedrooms. This was annoying as I had clearly stated my grand-daughter's age and had been assured of a bed.
The owners should either obtain a fold up cot that could be brought to the apartment when needed or state that they cannot accommodate small children who would need a cot.

Many of these questions are not relevant to a self-catering apartment.
