... Very satisfied with the stay. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The answered any Questions that I had and gave me directions on how to get there. ... Was able to take care of the stay the night before my departure which was very early in the morning. This was very much appreciated. The transportation was arranged and waiting for my departure. ... Unfortunately our holiday did not start off well as we along with thousands of other travellers were affected by the delays experienced at Heathrow airport due to the suspected act of terrorism. As a result we had been travelling for almost 48 hours before we arrived at Hotel Cortina, and were so very grateful for the friendly service that we received from the gentleman at the reception desk at the Hotel Cortina. ... Our stay at the Hotel Cortina was exceptional! the room was beautiful overlooking a local Church and gorgeous cobblestoned street, the bathroom was a good size and the hot water wonderfully hot! The room was spotlessly clean, but more than that, the whole Hotel had such a wonderful ambience almost like staying with an old friend - comfortable, relaxed and welcoming ... We were not joining our tour group until late in the afternoon and the staff were kind enough to allow us a late check out as well as look after our baggage so we could further explore the amazing city of Rome without having to worry about our luggage. ... Both my Husband and I loved our stay at the Hotel Cortina, the staff and management were only too happy to assist any of our enquiries from advice on where to eat to directions to sites only those very well researched or locals would know. The Hotel itself was beautiful with an amazing ambience that seduces you into wanting to return, we will definately stay at the Hotel Cortina on our next visit to Rome.

Location was excellent to everything we wanted to see and restaurants and bars nearby. ... Lift or elevator, whichever you call it, was very small and hotel is on the second floor. Guests should not have large luggage or know they will have to carry it up stairs. ... Comfortable, clean, reasonably priced and very well located for sightseeing.

We were pleased to have the same room as before, 6, which is quiet at the back. ... The only difference between the images and reality were the entrance lobby from the street and the staircase, which are nowhere near as attractive as in the image on the website. In fact they are so drab that one could be deterred from entering. Contract this with other hotels down the street with glass doors and beautiful lobbies. All the other images are correct. All the lobby and staircase need are fresh paint and more lighting. The breakfast room is too small! The staff are excellent and very helpful. We will be very happy to stay there again. ... The timings need to be changed. It takes 15 minutes at least to walk from Termini. It takes at least 30 minutes by bus to St Peter's. It takes longer by Metro to St Peter's, since you have the walk from Ottaviano. You know better than me that 5 minutes is too short! ... Very central, easy access to trains, metro and buses, opera theatre round the corner, Santa Susanna English-speaking church very near, very attractive cosy hotel, good breakfast, excellent receptionists who can explain anything in English. We will be very happy to stay there again.

Terrible sight when opening window. Breakfast/Dining Room is tiny looks much bigger on website. ... Those requesting single rooms should know that the view from the bedroom windows is none existant - my view was beds stored outside on a balcony and drain pipes! ... Very Clean and central and extremly friendly staff

All very clean - would recomend ... Comfortable, value for money, plenty of Breakfast- central position - easy to see the wonders of Rome - the open top bus great - if 2 people and going to Cisstern Chapel - take early Taxi and get to the queue before all the bus loads - worth the 9E

The hotel arranged a car to collect us from the airport and driver was waiting for us when we arrived. When he first pulled up ouside hotel we didn't quite know what to expect. We got in the lift and was a bit dubiuos about hotel, but as soon as we saw the hotel entrance - what a delight! ... Both men we met on reception were very polite and helpful. It was explained we couldn't have original double room as booked, due to a water leak. We were offered a small double for price of single and were very happy with it. Our party had our double room and 2 singles, and all were very clean. We were also a bit concerned as it was the 6 Nations rugby while we were there, and Itay were playing at home to Ireland - and it was St. Patrick's day! However, once in the hotel, we didn't hear any noise at all, so very pleased. ... Ideal hotel for a stay in Rome. Very clean, comfortable and ideal location - all for a very reasonable price. It is quite likely we will return to Rome and would definitely use this hotel again. All in all, we'd give the hotel 10 out of 10.

We arrived earlier than the allocated check-in time but there was no problem as the hotel were expecting us and had our room ready for us. The staff were helpful and polite, yet unobtrusive. ... The quality of the breakfast was excellent and the staff were very attentive. This hotel has a very homely and welcoming atmosphere. ... We were in Rome for a family occasion and can confirm that the Hotel Cortina has one of the best locations for anyone wishing to see all the major sights within easy walking distance. At times when we required taxis the staff could be relied upon to convey precise directions to our drivers, helping us to reach our destinations with the minimum of fuss. ... Thoroughly recomended!!!

The gentleman on the desk was very helpful and polite. We arrived before the room was ready but were able to leave our cases there and go an eat. When we arrived back our cases had been taken to our room for us. ... The room was exceptionally clean and was made up each day to a good standard. In my opinion I wouldn't call the room spacious but it was big enough for the purpose. The bathroom was very compact especially the shower cubicle but again it was very clean and managable. ... We left the day after the terrorist threats hit the airport and so were concerned about what we would be able to take with us on the plane and any delays etc, the people on the desk kept watch on the internet for us and advised us of any developements. ... No. ... I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a centrally placed, clean, friendly and good value for money hotel in Rome. Our friends were due to be travelling with us but unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute and we told them what they had missed by not seeing this hotel!

Very explicit direction are needed to find Hotel Cortina, even when you get inside the building it can still be confusing. ... We were very happy with our accommodation and service at thye hotel. ... Satisfactory ... Clear direction about how to get there and access when you do get there. ... Quiet clean hotel in a very central location with friendly staff.

The only slightly 'odd' item is that there are quite a few locations in the hotel (both the hallways and inside the individual rooms) where there are '2 steps' either up or down. It was just slightly unusual; you would walk 10 feet in a hallway, then go down 2 stairs, walk another 10 feet, and then go back up 2 stairs. This would not work for someone in a wheelchair. ... Fabulous central Roma location on Via Nazionale! Many great shops for clothing, shoes, and the true hustle and bustle of downtown Roma happening all around you.

The arranged a car to meet us at the airport, 50 euro was reasonable, airline late arriving, driver waited. After a long flight the trip into Rome was a relief. ... The staff were always courtous and helpful and a welcome resource whenever we had questions about the city. They helped with gallery reservations, train schedules and local directions. A small hotel that treated their guests like friends. Rooms are small, but reasonable priced. ... If you're traveling from Rome for day trips by train it's a very quick walk to the train station. ... A small hotel that offers friendly, personal service.

Very cordial reception. A car was organised to collect us at the airport, which dropped us at the door. The driver was courteous and the price very reasonable. ... The rooms were small but spotlessly presented. The bathrooms were excellent. the breakfast was generous and nicely presented. ... Again, a car was organised to the airport. The time of pick-up was changed without fuss. It arrived a little early so there was no anxiety experienced on our part. All check-out procedures went smoothly, luggage was minded until our departure and a bathroom provided to freshen up. Our rooms were available until mid-day. ... I think it was portrayed accurately. ... A very pleasant, small hotel, conveniently located and quiet, even though on the busy Via Nationale. The service was friendly &courteous at all times. The breakfast was generous and included yoghurt, cereals and fresh fruit. The rooms, including bathrooms, are small but spotlessly clean and nicely appointed in an understated way. I would stay there again.

The only negative comment was that the Air Conditioning worked, but not that well, so the room was a bit warm - This was a heat wave at the end of July. Also, we could not have any food in the room and had to keep towels off the floors due to bug problems, but I assumed this was probably common in all of the hotels in these older parts of Rome. ... The breakfast buffet was excellent - and the staff kept the breakfast open later than they advertised to allow us to sleep in on the day after we arrived - it was very much appreciated. ... Reasonably priced, clean with excellent breakfast. Rooms were a fairly good size for European hotel and the staff were helpful. It was also in a good location for walking to the sites. Elevator is very old and a bit small, but only required for moving luggage in and out, other than that we took the stairs as it was only 1 floor up.

Walking on foot from the train station, we were worried that the neighborhood was quite seedy, but the ambience improves once you reach the Cortina. For our purposes, the location was excellent. We walked to all the sites we were interested in except for Vatican City. ... Highly recommended.

Extremely helpful.Helped us with our bags, Brought coffee to room gave us map of Rome and arranged a car to take us to the airport following afternoon in response to learning how much we had been charged to travel by taxi 4-6 blocks from the station. ... Breakfast was described as a full breakfast which I took to mean a cooked breakfast. However although the food was plentiful and of a good quality and suited me it was more of a continental breakfast. My friend prefers breakfast cooked which was why we chose the hotel. Would have also liked to be able to make coffee in the room as I like to have coffee when going to bed. ... Excellent location. Polite and helpful staff. Rooms quiet even if fronting onto main front street.

We were four women staying together in the room and the room was cramped . There were two steps down from the entryway into the bedroom area, and going back up the two steps to enter the bathroom during the night was a bit risky. ... Concierge was very helpful and arranged transportation to the airport. ... Clean, quiet with a very helpful concierge and they offered a wonderful continental breakfast. It was a little farther from some of the sights than we thought; so we took taxis instead of walking.

The only confusing part of the agreement was the price of the transportation from the airport to the hotel. The email stated it would be 55 Euros. It did not state that this price would be for EACH person. I assumed this was the total price. ... The staff was friendly...especially at breakfast! The coffee was wonderful!

The staff members were polite and helpful. The room (quadruple) was small, but I did not expect it to be larger. The room was clean and quiet.
