A very convenient location if you want to use the train and walking distance to everything except the Vatican. Spacious, clean rooms and a good breakfast.

While the room was very clean and comfortable and the hotl great I didn't like to towels which were like a very well starched table cloth. Give us absorbent cotton towels anyday.

Our experience at Contilia hotel was a very pleasant one. Our room was very clean and the big bath was great for the kids. We all enjoyed the big breakfasts. The hotel was very close to transport and tourist attractions and nice restaurants. We would definately recommend this hotel to our friends.

The rooms were not quite as good as on the web site the colour schemes were different,
everthing was spotlessly clean bedding changed every day, the only complaint we had
was on our last night we were kept awake by noise from above people arguing & moving furniture around from 12midnight-2am we did complain to the night porter.

Very conveniently situated for the station, many restaurants nearby, friendly staff who were eager to help with our many questions about Rome. The Hotel is very tastefully decorated and the rooms are comfortable and very clean (which we always consider to be very important!).

We found the hotel staff to be very polite and excellent English was spoken by all 3 staff members we encountered. They answered all our questions in a courteous and informative manner. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable and would definitely consider staying at the Contilia on our next visit to Rome.

It took a long time before we got a requested extra blanket.
The bath tub plumbing was clogged up or very slow.

Easily reachable, nice reception, decent breakfast (not luxurious), good rooms, friendly staff but a crappy elevator.
Most Roman sights are a little far away, but because of the nearness to Termini, all can be reached easily.

I stated in the comment box that I wanted 2 twin beds but the comment didn't make it with the reservation so I got a double instead. Not the end of the world but a little frustrating.

For whatever reason, Mgmt. suggested we
transfer to another of their properties.
We agreed as the new location fit our plans. It turned out to be a very pleasant
smaller hotel with which we were very pleased. A week later, on returning to Rome from the north, we stayed at the original
location and the two hotels were generally equal and satisfactory.

are so small it's difficult to hold them
in hand showering. While the towels are
large enough, they are more like linen
than those we are accustomed to in the

THE HOTEL IS TYPICAL OF *** STAR HOTELS I HAVE USED IN ROME,CLEAN, DECORATED TO A HIGH STANDARD WITH WELL APPOINTED BATHROOM.
THE HOTEL WAS SITUATED IN A BUSY LOCATION & EXTERNAL NOISE WAS LOUD AT TIMES. HOWEVER, THIS IS TO BE EXPECTED FROM A CITY CENTRE LOCATION.

We found it inconvenient to be asked to pay cash for the rooms. On our first 2 days we were allowed to pay by credit card,but on the return overnight stay (5/19-20) were asked to pay cash. We all seemed to have problems using our debit cards throughout Italy,so it was a problem to have to scramble to get access to money to pay.

- Very clean.
- Very nicely recently refurbished with an expensive marble look (with very strict fire safety measures).
- The new bath room with luxuous bath was fine. We recommend a shower curtain to the hotel though, because when showering everything became wet.
- The sunday breakfast was somewhat less with differerent and not fresh rolls.

Contilia was very convenient to Termini bus station, and the metro was a brilliant form of transport for one euro - very good value. Straight across the street from Contilia Hotel was a lovely restaurant which we used twice on our visit and on an average of 20 euro per person we got a two course meal which was surprising as I thought it would have been more expensive. Rooms were spotless and the maid came in every day to make beds and change towels. Staff were very obliging, we had a 6.00am departure and they supplied us with tea, coffee and croisants.

We were very pleased with the room, it was an excelent room for the price offered. We were very pleased with the staff, they were allways polite and ready to help us. Our only remark was the quality of the breakfast. The breakfeast buffer offered a rather limited rage of products. According to us the breakfast was clearly of a lower quality than the room, which was a pitty. If the breakfast would have been better, our stay would have been perfect.

The hotel is very nice and clean with large rooms and very nice private baths. It is very convenient, only a few blocks from the train station with some very good restaurants nearby, yet the street noise was minimal.

Nice experience. A little noisy at night as our window was in the front of the hotel on a busy street,the bathroom and our room were not very spacious. As we weren't in our room that much, it wasn't a big deal. Location was perfect. My husband liked the exposure of our room as he liked the hustle and bustle of the city. The continental breakfast was very good. Would stay there again.

The Staff offered us a room at the La Fumiere hotel that was just as nice and more centrally located for the first part our visit. We did stay at the Contilia at the end of our vacation and found the staff and rooms to be very nice. We would stay there again

I had booked 3 rooms, 1 for me and 2 for friends.
The rooms for my friends had been small (as expected) but o.k.
My room was unfortunately not quiet o.k.
There was a terrible stink, like mouldiness.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable--mattresses far too firm; not enough blankets and pillows. The rooms, however, were very clean and well-maintained, albeit small. The bath towels are not what many are accustomed to: they are more like tablecloths than towels. Finally, the breakfast was reasonable but nothing special and the coffee was dreadful (and usually cold).

They do not welcome payment with a credit card and expect cash on checkout. This policy alone would make me reluctant to return to the hotel in the future.

There was a 10% discount for cash which we weren't told about until it was too late to obtain the necessary amount. Would a cheque have been the same as cash?

The breakfast was adequate. However, the choice of cereals e.g. Corn Flakes, Rice Crispies were not Kelloggs and basically inedible. We also felt tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been a bonus.

For the first two nights, they put us in a room that was very dark. I requested another room on the third day, and they immediately complied.

We stayed at the hotel, once for a single night, the second time for 3 nights.
The room on the single night stay was extremely small, however the staff warned us about this and the room charge was slightly less. On the second stay, the room was as expected.
The neighborhood around the hotel is convenient to the train station, but a little on the rough side.
