We came from Roma Termini rail station. The Columbia is about a five minute walk - very convenient. Not many people speak English and not all intersections have street signs, so it would be helpful to have a detailed map as you leave the station.

The first floor accomodation has a few steps to climb that may be a problem for some guests. If you want elevator access, then request a room higher than the first floor.

Excellent customer service. Samir at the Front Desk was very helpful. We will stay here again when returning to Rome.
The breakfast offering on the top floor is light but better than your typical continental. Staff is very pleasant.

Centraly located and a very friendly hotel. Close to transport rail, bus and Metro
This was our second stay in Rome and the first time at The Hotel Columbia. The staff were excellant and the accomodation first class. The waqs plenty of choice and variety for breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel and if we return to Rome again then this would be our choice of accomodationm.

We were brought to our rooms by staff who pointed out the amenities, and then given a choice of which rooms we preferred. Very helpful and accommodating.

There is not a lot of written material available in the lobby about local attractions and the best way to get around. Having the info readily available helps to make choices based on making best use of limited time. We did use the map that was available however.

Central location within walking distance of shopping, sightseeing, railway and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff; bright and clean accommodations. Very enjoyable and pleasing breakfast served on the rooftop terrace. Very good value. Would recommend to friends by all means.

The hotel staff were all friendly, helpful and polite and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They also noticed it was my birthday and provided a bottle of sparkling wine for us on the terrace when we returned to the hotel after a hot day sightseeing!

The room was cleaned thoroughly each day and the towels were also changed, which we were not expecting as we usually find in hotels nowadays this is only done on request or by leaving the towels in the shower/bath. The breakfast was good and there was a wide variety of restaurants nearby.

We think that we got what we paid for. We would gladly book there again and recommend it to others.

All staff were very friendly . The reception staff in particular were extremely helpful giving us advice on restaurants to visit and entry to monuments etc. They spoke very good English. Breakfast were plentiful, rooms very clean. We would stay here again.

The hotel staff 'Anka'and others were extremely courteous,professional,kind,and polite.
The room was satisfactory,the chandelier perfect! The shower lights were off? The breakfast servers were great!

Columbia arranged our airport pickup which was as stated by them although our flight was 1 hour late! The pickup was there!

It would have been nice to know that this was just a few blocks walking from the train station. We took a taxi for 20 Euros.

This hotel is not in a very good area of twon. I had read that one whould not be walking after dark near the train station. Since this property is just a few blocks away, it made our night returns to the hotel somewhat scary.

The room was ready early and we did not have to wait until 3 p.m. The buffet breakfast was very nice on the upstairs terrace. The room looked exactly as it did on line.

From Termini Station, one does not know which way to turn. There is no Information Desk. I did not know that one should not go with a taxi man inside the train station. At first, I said, 'No taxi.' I wanted to walk as I knew it was near. He said, 'May I give you information?' I said, 'Yes.' He lead me to believe it was further than I thought, telling me I had to pass another train station. He said he would take me to Columbia Hotel for 15 Euros. I agreed. When we arrive at the hotel, he jumped from the taxi and put our suitcases behind the taxi and returned to the taxi. I retrieved my cases and went to the front of the taxi and handed him 20 euros. He quickly exchanged the bills and said I gave him only 5 euros. I then gave him another 20 euros and he returned 5 euros. But I know that besides the 15 euros I gave him, he had my first 20 euros in the taxi. It cost me 35 euros to go about 4 blocks. He went round about to get to the hotel, but I knew he was going a long way out of his way. The city should get rid of these train station taxi drivers. They give Rome a bad name to tourists.

Comfortable setting, especially for afternoon tea or wine on the roof garden. Close to the Train Station, but far enough away to feel safe. Walking distance to many great attractions and restaurants.

We asked for a nonsmoking room, and got a smoking room. They receptionist said that the maid 'sprays nice scent' in the room to cover the odor. Personally, I could still smell the smoke. I also didn't think the room was very clean. The carpet was worn and dirty looking. The bed cover as well. Also our room was extremely warm - the AC just didn't work very well. I would rate this hotel a two star experience.

The only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast patio at the top of the hotel. It was decorated nicely and the food was good.

We paid close to $200 for that smoking, hot, dirty room. I don't think it was worth that amount.

Prior to our trip we had arranged through the hotel receiptionist for a taxi to collect us from the airport so we did not need directions to the hotel.

A very clean, well run (B&B) hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Also, the buffet breakfast table was excellent. In particular we liked the roof garden where we took breakfast and had drinks in the evening.

Hotel Columbia is a great location, a easy walk from the train station and the starting point of all the major tours in town. Because the Hotel is on a main road, we booked a room with a terrace in the back that was very quite. The staff at Hotel Columbia were so helpful with everything. They were help full with our lost luggage, the airline did not put it on the last plane. So you may want to tag your bag with name of the city you are flying into just to catch the eye of those sorting bags. Warning this is a town you should always use a money belt, do not use a back pocket wallet or backpack and make a copy of your passport, credit cards so if you are robbed you will have the information handy in your suitcase.
