Our host, Samuel, was very helpful. He made us coffee every morning at his cafe, he gave us directions for sightseeing, he made us dinner one night even though it was close to closing time, he called us a taxi when our trip was over. The room was clean and comfortable and we had an elevator to take us to the third floor. The hotel was close to St Peters Square and we were there when the new Pope was elected. We had a wonderful time and we would stay at Chambres d'Or again. Pam and Lance Pollock

We were greeted and generally looked after by Sam, he was exceptional and i would recommend this Hotel to anyone. ... The location of the Hotel is excellent. Literally 2 minutes work to the St Peters Square and the Vatican, as well as the open top bus ride pick up and drop off point (St Peters Square). Very reasonable price too. ... Very smooth and hassle free, hotel had a taxi waiting for us that got us to the aerostation in plenty of time, espeacially impressed as it was during Friday evening rush hour. ... Welcoming, very helpful and excellent located. This will make Rome that little bit more enjoyable for you.

the only issue we had was that the address of the hotel is not the same as the reception address. we had to book in over the road at number 25 not number 32. ... the shower cubicle itself was very small with a corner door. it was awkward to get into and impossible to bend to wash your feet. the phone didnt work in the room either. apart from these two minor points it was a lovely clean and quiet room. ... we were able to leave our luggage at reception for the day as we had a late evening flight at no extra charge. ... the hotel is not in one building but spread out in various buildings in the immediate vicinity. we found this added to its charm and was not a problem at all.Sam and his staff are extremely courteous and very helpful in all things
... excellent value for money. very clean. only two streets from the sistene chapel.

We really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff. ... We thought that the place where we got breakfast with the hotel (the cafe across the street) was very quaint. Their cappucino was the best I had in Italy. ... The bathroom has inspired us to do ours in tile--we thought it was beautiful. Very comfortable and close to the Vatican. Also a nice neighborhood feel.

We arranged collection from the airport through the hotel so directions you provide were not relevant on this occasion. Arrangements for collection and arrival were good. Strange arrangement that the hotel is managed from the restaurant across the road. Not a problem, though out-of-hours assistance might have been difficult if required, and a bit unusual. Did not like the hotel entrance or route to rooms, lift is small. ... The room was smaller than the website suggested by its pictures. Room was well decorated and comfortable. ... Consider the room rate a little expensive but accept that the location is good and therefore might command a higher price. If we were to visit again we might look for a less expensive hotel. ... Very helpful and English speaking staff. Limited breakfast of sweet cakes and pastries, not quite to English tastes (but we got used to it. ... Located within a short distance of St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican and close to the Metro and bus stops. Comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Adequate rooms and facilities, clean and well maintained. Unusual reception arrangements which are managed from the restaurant across the road. Out-of-hours contact might be difficult. Hotel is part of a condiminium and office building so access to the hotel entrance and rooms is unusual.

This was a great place to stay.We felt very special and look after. We arrived late night but there was someone there to greet us and get us in the room. ... This was a great place to stay.We felt very special and look after. My wife became ill for two days while there and the manager and assistants were very attentive to her needs while we continued to take tours we had previously booked. They were great..... ... The location is great to get to the USO and other areas and the metro to get around to the sights. So close to the Vatican which and shopping which made everything easy.... ... The convience to the USO should be published so that the many americans can make arrangements for tours before they arrive It makes things so much easier. ... We have given out there address and information to 4 people and we have only been back from our trip for 1 week.

we stayed in the new rooms. The bathroom was very, very small. It was differcult not to get the bathroom all wet. The room was so small that they put the hairdryer in the bedroom. ... There isn't a lobby. All details are handled at the cafe across the street. It wasn't a problem. The food for breakfast was very good especialy the fresh orange juice and sandwiches. ... I would stay there again but my husbsnd would want a large bath. The larger baths are in the other building across the way from where we stayed.

The location was wonderful. The staff was outstanding. We felt like we were visiting family members ... it was more like a pension ten a hotel but we were very happy with the wonderful staff. ... It was very confusing that the 'reception' for our accommodation was infact across the road from the building and it would have been helpful to have this clearly stated. ... It was very cold in our room and although it had air-conditioning there did not appear to be any controls for any central heating. However - it was Rome and it was the middle of winter!! ... Despite my comments we still enjoyed our stay and found the accommodation very satisfactory. ... See above. ... It was very quiet and of a high quality. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the location was great.

As soon as the taxi stopped, the manager came out and greeted us. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff was very kind to us. ... We were offered the limo rental instead of having to take a cab which we were not aware of. Nice surprise. Everything about the check went smoothly. ... excellent downtown location. Walking distance to Vatican, restaurants and cafe's. Bus terminal was very close and 10 minute ride to other main attractions. Staff is very friendly, helpful and accomadating. Had to go check in across the street at a cafe. ... State that it is located in a private apartment building. The reception was across the street in a cafe. ... The rooms were nice, comfortable. The air conditioning system in all 3 of our rooms did not cool off sufficiently. Located close to the Vatican. The staff was friendly.

taxi journey from airport was very frightening to say the least as we encountered Italian road rage when our driver got into a confrontation with another driver. It was also more expensive than quoted on the telephone ... The room was very clean but unfortunately it was very small and cramped and there were not enough electrical points for hairdrier, phone chargers etc. ... Unfortunately the person who organised our transport to the airport was off on the day we were leaving and the other staff did not seem to know what was happening. We waited nearly more than 1 hour for our taxi and we were quite concerned that we would miss our flight. The staff did not have the same concerns as us but eventually, when our taxi failed to arrive, they did manage to persuade a bus driver, who had come into the cafe for coffee to take us to the airport. ... Rooms very small. ... Excellent location, very close to Vatican, very clean, staff (Sam and young lady who cleans) very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Breakfasts very good but unfortunately rooms are very small.

The sign for the Hotel is extremely small - 5 X 10 cm.; there is no doorbell at the stated address. The reception/registration is actually across the street at a cafe. There was no sign to indicate this. Someone let us into the building, we made our way to the 3rd floor, and the housekeeper eventaully answered that door, and told us to register across the street. ... The breakfast area was across the street. Our room was quite small, but our friends room was very spacious. The room quality was inconsistent. However, the staff were very friendly, and the room was very clean. ... It should definitely state that registration/reception is across the street at Cafe Rendezvous, and that address should be given, rather than the hotel address. ... Great location, clean, friendly staff, ask for a small courtyard room if you want quiet, or a larger front room if you don't mind a lot of daytime traffic noise.

rooms very small, but nice. ... we had to wait long time for our check-out because I did pay by credit-card. Because of this waiting time we did loose too much of our time which we wanted to spend to visit the beautiful Rome!! ... Rooms are very small ... Small rooms (especially bathroom) but absolutely o.k. for a stay of a few days. Location perfect - near Vartican - and not in the tourist area.
