The staff at Hotel Celio was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable right away. ... We loved the location of the hotel - very convenient to public transportation and to sights of interest. The hotel staff was great! ... We left a couple of items in our room which the staff was nice enough to find and give back to us before we left the hotel! ... Hotel Celio was wonderful and we would recommend it highly to anyone.

Fantastic venue; Roberto obviously works hard to maintain standards - now just need an excuse to go bak to Rome! ... Go there!

I don't think I noticed it! ... Fpor the same above reason! ... It was my wedding anniversary; I specifically asked for a pretty room; I did not expect a room that looked on the street ... Very small room ... Breakfast was very disappointing; a warm croissant or even some freshly baked bread and some home-made jam would do rather than the cold bread rolls, the plastic Danish pastry, the little tubs of very average marmelade. A breakfast of that sort lets you down and it does not meet with the standards you set for your hotel. ... Fair description of the property but exaggerated; when one knows this one can take it with a poinch of salt (not too literally) ... Quiet and well appointed but small rooms with poor room service (soap and shampoo were never replenished, there was no body lotion or shower gel or bubble bath one would expect of a hotel that charges 250 euros/day. Go somewhere else for breakfast, the chambermaid who also serves breakfast could be more polite (she told us rather curtly they stop serving breakfast at 10:00 despite us being told that breakfast is being served until 11:00 a.m.) I don't think you want to publish myreview, but perhaps you can take on board my comments

because it was so easy to access and was a great way of enabling us to book direct without a travel agent and extra costs. We had a great stay in Rome and the city and hotel were everything we could have wanted. Thank you. ... I didn't realise until this email that you were worldwide - so will recommend you to fellow travellers. ... The hotel staff were very helpful during our stay and provided an attentive rather than intrusive service. ... Staff took the time and trouble to book a taxi for us to take us direct to the airport and advised on travel times etc. ... no ... because it was so easy ... Brilliantly situated for the centrico historico. The hotel rooms were richly and individually furnished and the staff very pleasant and attentive thorughout our stay. Would recommend it and feel good value for money for the centre of Rome.

We were ripped off by the taxi driver who claimed not to know where the hotel was. We were charged £40 for a £14 fare. Once we arrived at the hotel they were warm, friendly and welcoming. ... The hotel was excellent. ... Lovely roof garden. ... Small, well run, beautifully decorated and well located.

met and shown rooms quickly and efficiently ... comfortable and friendly ... efficient and staff helpful in obtaining taxi etc ... i would describe it as a small well-run hotel which was handy for all the sites and the Metro. it would probably not suit a family with a few young children as space was tight and there were no extra facilities. As far as we were concerned for a stay of 4 nights it was ideal.

Very much an Italian experience. The rooms were small but decorated tastefully. The location is wonderful since you can see the colosseum as soon as you walk out of the hotel. We have already recommended the hotel to a friend.

We took a taxi to the hotel so we did not use the online directions. Therefore, I did not evaluate that item. ... There is occasional noise from the street as the Italians in the neighborhood live their lives. However, the hotel provides shutters which you can lower electronically with the push of a button. We experienced noise primarily because my husband enjoyed having the windows opened which allowed sound from the neighborhood into the room because then the shutters were not down and the windows weren't closed.
The hotel was exceptionally private. We never saw other guests in the halls. We only made their acquaintance at the breakfast provided each morning. The rooms were cleaned each day by the staff. ... The owner, Roberto, walked us out to our taxi to say goodbye. He had arranged a larger than usual one due to the amount of our luggage and ensured that it would be at the door of the hotel for us in plenty of time for us to make our flight. He had also pre-arranged a much more reasonable rate for us to the airport than we had paid on our own to get to the hotel. He also helped us determine what time we should leave in order to be at the airport on time. Due to his efficiency with the checkout and his making all the arrangements for us, we were ready to leave ahead of time. ... The owner, Roberto, was endlessly patient during the entire stay with answering questions, providing directions, the best transportation to take to each location, exact bus numbers, where to eat, where to change money, where to have laundry done for us, etc. He was always available and if the staff could not answer a question, he was called and became instantly available. He acted as an excellent concierge for us the entire stay. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. All anyone has to do is ask for something. Roberto, especially, is more than accommodating. When I asked about getting a massage in Rome he helped me choose a massage therapist nearby, called the massage therapist for me in case they did not speak English, made the taxi arrangement, walked out of the hotel and talked to the taxi driver when he arrived to make sure I got to the location and inquired afterwards to make sure the massage experience was a good one. He also has an extensive video library so that our children could rent a video (4 Euro) to watch when they were tired at night and wanted to stay in the room. He has both Italian and English videos. There are over 100 videos in English. It is a very family friendly place as we took our two daughters with us who stayed in our room. ... Charming. The walls of the room are covered in beautiful fabric, the tile mosaic floors are unique, the closet space more than adequate, and there are snacks and refrigerated drinks available in the room. In addition, there is space left in the refrigerator and the snack cabinet for guests to buy their own snacks and refrigerate their own water or soft drinks. Since there were two grocery stores on the street, we utilized the space. The neighborhood is wonderful. There are three restaurants, a cafe, an internet cafe, a laundry, and grocery stores on the street. The business owners in the area are friendly and accommodating. We could see the coliseum from our window. Due to the proximity to the coliseum, it was always easy to return to the hotel by bus, metro, or taxi.
The room was spacious by European standards and we actually spent a good bit of time in the room resting between events because all four of us were very comfortable there. We stayed in the Ambassador suite. It was a great experience and made our trip.

I give only fair because Rome is generally (too) expensive when it comes to hotels, but generally we feel that we got a good value for the money. ... no ... Central hotel, good as a base for sightseeing, very nice service, we enjoyed realxation in the sun on the roof terrace after sightseeing.

The room that I had booked ( Donatello ) was very nice and confortable, but had a very small bath, so I changed to another ( more expensive...) room ( Nero ), with a satisfiyng bath, in the second night. ... As «Hotel de charme» the Hotel Celio is a good option. ... In Rome Hotel rates and prices are gone mad! So if you compare local prices and quality, Hotel Celio is a good/fair value for money. ... The size of the bath in the Donatello room should be subject of a previous warning... ... Is a very good and confortable Hotel, nice staff, familiar, wonderfully located, simultaneously central and away from the «mainstream» mass tourist hotels, good beds, fair breakfast, and the price, if you think of Rome prices, is not bad...

Thought I would be receiving a courtyard or inside room to avoid street noise but rcvd street side room. Room however was very nice. ... Would advise future travelers to book an inside or courtyard room as street side rooms are quite noisy with late night and early morning activity. ... Romantic boutique hotel, small but a perfect out of the way hotel off of the busier streets and avenues. Just 1 block from the coliseum. Rooms are quite nice but would definitely recommend booking a superior room or above as the standard room and bathroom are quite small compared to US standards.

The rooms were MUCH smaller than they seemed on the website, especially the bathroom. (They must have used a wide-angle lens.) Also, the air conditioning was turned on and off at will by the front desk staff. And the staff was stingy with toilet paper and other toiletries. ... Rooms were clean, but again, VERY small. Our room was also quite dark--the only available window had shutters covering it. The staff did not seem very friendly, almost like they would prefer not to be running the hotel. ... Cute but very small room in a hotel with an indifferent staff at a fairly high price. The location was great, though.

I expected a small bathroom, but the shower was too small for comfort.
Th room itself was nocely decorated and kept clean.
The breakfast should be descibed online as a 'continental' as it was coffee, juice, and bread. ... Great location! ... Small, boutique hotel

The hotel was charming but I couldn't get my room for a very long time (2pm and I was there at 11am with my daughter. He is a cool customer that manager not terribly friendly. The room was OK charming but very dark. The bath was minute. The area was fine and I liked the public areas of the hotel but they were also very small. The breakfast area was only open in the morning but very nice. A courtyard with a tent as it was open to the sky. The dog barking in the morning at the house next door but not under their control was too bad. I would tell others about it but would problably not stay there again because the room was so small. ... It was just a lot smaller than I had hoped for. A bit far from the center of the city and none of the taxi drivers we had knew where it was. ... It would have been nice to have had a hand with our luggage at 8;15 in the morning but otherwise it was OK.

Very tiny room and noisy in the morning from the dinning room ... Breakfast was in a tent which would certainly not be ideal for cold weather and was extremely cramped
