Staff were always helpful.
A constructive comment would be that breakfast could be improved by having more variety, e.g. warm eggs, croissants, ham & cheese.
We apprecited the padding in the room to exclude all outside noise - very good.
Another constructive comment would be that the TV in the room should have BBC24 - we missed that being from the UK
... Very good value for money. Everything we expected

This location was great, could not be better. You could get to everything on foot. We could have used a little more help from the front desk getting around, ie reservation, suggestions, about trains etc. They didn't seem to know much. The lighting in the room was really bad. You could not see to put on your makeup even in the bathroom. The TV was really sad, the clicker was broken, really hard to get working. Complained about it and nothing was done. We specifically booked a room with a TV. Disappointing. That being said the rest was good. Decent size room for Europe. Super clean. Sound proof. The special windows. Overall we had a nice stay. ... You could not get a better location, but the tv and the lighting needs an upgrade. Very soundproof, a must in any European city.

Very attentive, very prompt and very friendly ... Our stay in Hotel Cecil was the seventh hotel in a 3-week trip to Europe and it was the best! We stayed in 3-star rated accommadation and Hotel Cecil was outstanding. One notable factor was the Quietness of the rooms- no traffic noise or plumbing noises could be heard. ... I recommend Hotel Cecil to any of our friends - it is quiet , centrally located , air-conditioned and well appointed.

This was a very pleasant experience straight away setting me in a very good mood for this family stay. ... Except for the design of the room door, which left a lot of free space from the floor allowing residual corridor noises in the morning and late afternoon to filter in, the standard and the quality of the room was higher than expected. ... I am not aware of such dtls. ... A very coneniently located hotel with nice rooms. Friendly and professional over-all ambience and staff.

Hotel Cecil arranged an airport shuttle for us, which for our group of eight people was actually cheaper than the other options. We arrived quickly and they immediately took us to our rooms, letting us rest before registering or paying for the room. We appreciated this level of service. ... The Hotel Cecil was the perfect place to spend our first night in Rome. The location allowed us to visit a great number of sights in a very short time, and the double-double-paned windows completely shut-out the noise of the city so that we could rest to get over our jet-lag. ... Hotels in Rome are very expensive. While Hotel Cecil was a little more expensive than some other options, the service and location (not to mention the sound-proof windows) made us very grateful to have paid the small difference. The check-out process was very simple and the staff was helpful in arranging for inexpensive Taxi service to the train station. ... The double set of double paned windows should definitely be mentioned. This is a great asset. Between them and the shutters we were easily able to take a nap in the middle of the afternoon without any disturbances whatsoever. ... At first sight from the street the Hotel Cecil appears to be just a small hotel on a side-street. Once you step inside, however, you find a charming old-style hotel that immediately makes you comfortable. We found our rooms to be neat and clean. Since we had the four-person rooms (a rarity in Rome) we had plenty of space. We also appreciated the morning breakfast in a cafe'-style setting. I bet that a summer breakfast on the roof would be spectacular!! The location was absolutely perfect. We reserved the rooms here because of the proximity ot the Villa Borghese park, but found that we were only a short walk from the Trevi fountain, and the Spanish Steps were literally arouond the corner. We also enjoyed being close to the fashionable Via Veneto, where we found the American Embassy and the Bone Church (Cripto dei Capuccini). This really is a very good location at a reasonable price (for Rome).

Breakfast is only served until 9.30am. I would suggest extending this time especially as most visitors are not up that early. (I was visiting from Australia so it's pretty hard to get adjusted to the time). Perhaps up until 10am or 10.30am would be great - or providing breakfast to the room instead. ... The hotel is small, neat and tidy and well appointed. The location is fantastic just a couple of minutes to the Spanish steps one way and a few minutes to the Trevi fountain in the other direction. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. I only had a single room which was bit smaller than i expected but it was clean and tidy and had it's own bathroom which is all i needed. However, because all the rooms are so close to each other there is virtually no sound barrier. People walking and talking in the hallways and the cleaners in the morning can all be heard as though it was happening right in your room. Other than that it was a lovely stay in the hotel and a beautiful few days in Rome.

All went smoothly. ... The staff was very helpful and spoke fluent English. The stairs were being renovated the week I was there, which meant using the one elevator, which was slow at times, but it worked. The only real drawback was sound insulation. There was a family in rooms across the hall who spent each morning screaming at each other, all perfectly audible from my room. ... Checkout was easy and they were very helpful in arranging a taxi to the airport and suggesting alternate routes. ... Nothing fancy, but a nice, reasonably priced place to stay, walking distance to pretty much anything you want to see in Rome. The staff were very helpful, as well. I wouldn't stay there on a business trip because there's not really enough space to work in the room, but for a holiday, it was just what I wanted.

The arrangement with the limo service from the airport was excellent. ... You need to update the safes in the rooms. They are extra sensitive to punching in the numbers. We accidently pushed the wrong number and were unable to open the safe the night before our departure. Fortunately we did not have an early departure, otherwise there would be a problem waiting for the appropriate person to be on duty ... We would recommend the Hotel Cecil to friends.

Our brief Rome experience was a very pleasant one indeed. We found the Hotel Cecil staff friendly and helpful. A problem with the TV was quickly fixed. The breakfast tasty and adequate. The hotel's proximity to many of Rome's finest 'sights' is a definite plus. We would have no hesitation in staying at Hotel Cecil should wwe have occasion to return to Rome. In short - VERY SATISFIED. (sgd. Dorothy Howard) ... As above. Nothing negative to say at all. ... The day we checked out was a holiday (Toutes Saintes) All Saints' Day and when we phoned to confirm our taxi to the airport, there was no response. The desk clerk kindly took over the responsibility of trying to get through to confirm the taxi which turned out to the a condiserable investment in time for him. He was also 'manning' the breakfast table, making coffee, tea etc.
... no ... Well situated, clean, older hotel but with most modern amenitites. This 'old' quality was a plus for us and we enjoyed reading about its history and looking at pictures.
Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

The bar was a little understocked. Our order of three cans of beer was enough to dry the bar out.
Also the roof terrace was only open from 4.00-8.00pm, which seemed a little oddd, as there were no facilties on the roof other than... the view.
I stayed in a single room that could not be dscribed as 'spacious'. This is, though, the norm for single rooms. Otherwise, the room was quiet, clean and perfectly fine.
The bathroom was clean, with hot water always available. ... Staff were extremely helpful. ... It's great value is its position in the old centre of Rome.
The facilities are fine and the staff very pleasant and helpful.

We had a party of six in three rooms with a lot of luggage. They helped bring all the luggage in from the taxi, checked us in and got all the luggage up to the rooms in no time. ... The staff was very helpful, polite and friendly with the execption of an older woman who was a little grumpy. The rrof top terace seemed to be under some construction and was not open as a bar (as advertised in the elevator), although we were allowed to go up there with our own wine and enjoy the sights. ... If you wanted to pay by credit card you had to pay the night before check out, but this was posted at the desk. We mad our own arrangements for a car to pick us up, and it was a litle late. The Hotel staff was kind enough to get the cell phone number from us and call to make sure the driver had understood us and was on his way. ... I would say that it was a very pleasant hotel in a great location with a friendly anf attentive staff. The rooms we had were big and comfortable and quiet, and we all enjoyed our stay. The fact that breakfast was mostly pre-packaged stuff was helped along by excellent cappuccino made by the staff.

There was confusion regarding the limo driver who was supposed to pick us up at the airport. The driver was supposed to have a sign with our last name on it, but did not, so it was very hard to locate/connect with him. It took about 45 minutes in very hot weather after almost 18 hours of travelling, so that was very frustrating. Other than that, the hotel accommodations were very good and we were pleased with our stay. We have since recommended the hotel to our travel agent and friends. ... Location is great--just a short walk from the Spanish Steps. ... Great location; clean, nice rooms; friendly and helpful staff; reasonably priced (for location). Would not recommend the limo service from the hotel unless it was ensured that the driver would be readily identifiable. Would recommend a taxi/shuttle instead.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Cecil - the hotel was in a fantastic location, the staff were always very polite (except for one night porter to look slightly ticked off when we got home at 5am!) and the breakfast was great. The room was very spacious. One thing that I did notice was that they didn't change the bed linen everyday. This is not tragic but would have been nice!
