We were met at the airport by Giordano, who operates a pick up service. He waited over an hour for us, as our luggage had not come through. He was still very happy, even after the wait! ... The only negative comment about our room and entire stay was that the shared bathroom was next to our room(ensuite), and that you could hear the other guests using the facilities. On the plus side, there was hardly any street noise at all, which can be a bit of a problem in Rome I gather. ... As far as I remember, you didn't mention that the il Tesoro runs a pick up service to and from the airport. Not only did we find this very helpful(I am disabled), but very good value for money. ... A great B&B with a fantastic breakfast terrace, that overlooks St Peters. With very friendly and helpful staff. If we ever go back to Rome we will try and stay here!

They have a shuttle service which made it so much easier than trying to work out metro and having no italian it made life just so much easier. ... The B&B was superb, breakfast in bed, was beautiful and the room itself was huge and very pretty, bathroom was small but clean and had all you needed. The couple running the B&B were so helpful and kind and their shuttle service to and from the airport made getting to the accommodation perfect. Also there is a metro station right outside the door and the vatican was right next door. Just a super stay. ... Fantastic. Ideally situated great rooms wonderful owners

Best location, great directions, very easy to find. ... Absolutely the best place we stayed on our month long adventure. ... Great views, clean and quiet, relaxing, extremely comfortable beds. The staff is so friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to make us comfortable. A rare find in Rome, possibly the best place for the money. The best place we stayed.

We were picked up at the airport (extra cost but very well worth it) and taken to the B&B. Hiroki greeted us and was very helpful. ... Stayed in the room with ensuite bath. Large room and lots of space for storage. Loved the breakfast served on the roof. Great location for your Rome visit! ... We had a terrific stay here. If we ever get a chance to come back to Rome, we would love to stay here again. ... Quaint, safe, quiet and perfect for a couple who don't need the pampering (or feel the need to pay for such) of a large full-service hotel. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Giordano met us personally at the door as we had stayed at another property the night before. He is a terrific host! ... B&B Il Tesoro is a true treasure in Rome. It's affordable, clean and most of all QUIET. We would stay here again! ... We 'checked out' the day before at breakfast since we were leaving very early the next morning. Giordano and his staff were extremely nice and helpful. ... I'm not sure if it's on the website but this B&B is very safe and secure. ... A wonderful place with a wonderful host and staff. The breakfast on the roof terrace is lovely with a great view. Our room with ensuite bathroom was very clean and incredibly quiet. The AC was great since it was hotter than usual for Spring. This is a super location just steps from the Metro and blocks from St. Peter's Square. There is an ATM and a great pizza place right out the door. Great deal for the price!

Our stay at the Il Tesoro was wonderful. Guiordano, the owner, is very polite and helpful. My husband and I had a little insident in our visit to the Vatican Museum. We got separated from the tour and my husband went back to the B&B hoping I would do the same. I did not, I stayed at the Vatican looking for him. When Giordano saw my husband waiting for me he went in his motorcycle to the Vatican to look for me. He did not find me until later. We really appreciate his help and his efforts. He went beyond his duties. He acted like a friend. We truly recommend this place. It is clean comfortable good location and excellent service. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write about it. I would not mind if you let Giordano know our opinion. Thank you Jaime and Rosalba Ramos

Giordano De Paolis was fantastic we arrived at midnight (3 hours late) yet he still took the time to welcome us all personally. and show us all the facilities. ... Giordano was again fantastic he arranged for us to store our cases in a secure location until we were due to leave. he also ensured that our taxi returned to pick us up at the correct time when it arrived 5 houres early ... its a converted 3 roomed apartment no frills but a great place to stay and explore Rome. we would all go back again nice one Giordano

The B&B had arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport. We arrived in the morning, our room was ready, and we were allowed to check in early. ... Although we did not meet the owners, the staff (Pino) was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts on the roof-top terrace were ample. The location was great, with a Metro stop right outside the front door. ... Great location, pleasant room, friendly service.

Great location, literally steps from the Ottoviano Metro stop. We arrived at about 9am and they had no problem with us keeping our luggage there until we checked in. Thanks again. ... Huge room, clean, tidy and bright. The sofa in the room is a great idea, which in no way took away from the spaciousness of it. Thanks. ... I may be incorrect but I do not think they sold the location on the site. If they do not, they should. It is about 15 feet from the front door to a Metro stop and about five blocks from Piazza San Pietro. This is a great location to get to everything that you need to see in Roma. If you must speak English, it is not a problem for the hosts. ... The young couple running it were terrific. They were helpful and friendly. Ask Giordano what S.P.Q.R means, you will see these letters all over Roma. Breakfast every morning overlooking the Vatican, I am not sure what I could add to that.

Although the check in time wasn't till 3 p.m. we were able to check in before midday with no problem. ... Extremely friendly and helpful couple who provided us with excellent accommodation, lovely breakfast and useful information. ... Because we had to leave early in the morning we settled our bill the night before and left the keys on trust. All very friendly and convenient. ... Perhaps that the B and B is on the 5th floor of a large building - it was a little difficult to locate. They also provided a really lovely range of bathroom toiletries. The room was extremely well furnished with loads of storage space. Our room was on the inside of the building overlooking the courtyard so was nice and quiet - not sure if the other rooms could have been a bit noisy. ... Highly recommended - excellent value, very comfortable, great location (right at the Metro entrance for St Peter's) and immaculately clean.

Did not have to wait at the Airport as we had arranged to be picked up by service arranged by the Bread/Breakfast.The Taxi Driver was very obliging and helpful. Lovely Man. Arrived late at night and the area was quiet. Met Georgio on arrival and was helpful. ... Great central place to stay. Stayed from the 22nd November to 27th November. The room was large and absolutley spotless. Also very warm. Plenty of clothes space and king size bed. Very comfortable - again spotless. Did not hear any noise at night - only once and this was very minimal. Does not look very great from the outside but this is the norm for Rome, however great wee Bed/Breakfast. ... Pino could not have been any more helpful. Kept our Luggage as we did not leave until 8.00p.m flight and left us the keys to go back and collect.
Can't say eneough about his hospitality. Thank-you ... You might recommend them to have a Teasmade in the rooms for night/early morning and maybe one morning have a cooked breakfast, Other than this everthing was lovely. ... Excellent. Central position for the Vatican, right next to the Metro (5 steps from front door) and walking distance to everything if prepared to walk. We went on the Metro 1st Morning to Colliseum, but found our way home and walked every day from then on. Spotless clean, warm, and very hospitable and helpful staff. Cheery and friendly.

Very near to the metro, easy to reach! ... For travelling home we recommend the offered shuttle service from il tesoro to the airport. It's stressless and worth it's price. ... When it's raining the breakfast is not served at the roof terrace but in the room. ... We absolutely recommend this property for people who like a lower priced stay in the center of Rome which is nice and clean.

The place is not that easy to find, specially at night. ... The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The double room is really big and the bathroom as well. Good location for the metro and even to go walking to the city centre. ... You can not pay with credit card though.

We didn't have information about which of the multiple subway exits to take or where to go from there. The location was perfect, but, for the first visit to Rome it was difficult to find. ... A great place to stay. Perfect location. Great hosts.

We could not have been happier with our experience. Giordano and Barbara made us feel right at home. Directions to get around Rome were perfect. Dinner reservations were great (one of our most fun experiences). The room was extremely large and comfortable. We felt like we had our own apartment. ... We would definitely come back! ... Absolutely clean, friendly, and comfortable. We felt like we went home every night. ... The private bathroom is tight (you need to sit sideways on the toilet). You do hear noise when people are unlocking their doors or using the shared washroom facilities. Absolutely nothing which interfered with our great stay. ... Like living in an apartment. On a busy street but no noise in the room (unlike another B&B we stayed at). Great location for public transportation to everywhere. The rooftop was such a fun way to start and end each day! Internet cafes were right around the corner.

Although check in time was 3pm, we were allowed in our room at 11am. ... The 2 brothers that run the B&B are lovely, but their English is limited. Also, they leave the property in the evening and do not return until the following morning. They did not leave us a number to reach them in case of any emergency. It was a bit cold in the evenings and I feel we could have done with a little more heat. Breakfast could be a bit more varied (we had the same type of bread and biscuits every day) but it is served in the room which is a lovely extra. ... Check out time was 10 and they allowed us to stay until 12 as we had a late train. ... The location is fabulous and the rooms are great, with marble floors and high ceilings. As they are on the 5th floor, there is very little if any noise from the street, even though it is a fairly busy one. The B&B is directly across the street from the Metro and only a few minutes walk from the Vatican. I also felt that it was a very safe neighbourhood and we felt very comfortable no matter what time of day we were out. ... I would definitely recommend it to my friends, and I would definitely stay there again. It is a very good deal for the price.

Due to a missed connection, we arrived 9 hours later than expected. The owner picked us up at the airport at 1:00 AM, for which we were extremely grateful. ... We appreciated the shower gel and shampoo that were provided. ... Our luggage was held after check-out until we needed to go to the train station. ... Il Tesoro was very convenient to the Vatican and the Metro. Everything was very clean and well kept. We loved eating breakfast on the roof, drinking the cappuccino that had been made just for us!

The owner was very helpful - helped carry our luggage into the lift. ... The neighbours were somewhat noisy until late into the night, but we turned on the aircon to block out the noise. ... He kindly let us keep our bags in the premises while we went out for the day and were ready to move on and he organised a shuttle to the airport for us which was very helpful and the shuttle driver was very good. ... Breakfast was on the terrace with a view of St Peter's. My only negative thought was the breakfast - it consisted of yoghurt which is great but the rest was sweet cakes. Would rather have had cereal or croissants or even fresh toast. ... Roomy, comfortable, clean. Had a shared bathroom with one other couple which was a lovely bathroom and was no problem sharing. The balcony was a bonus and could be shut for soundproofing.

The B&B is a small place, with only 3 rooms and a wonderful balcony overlooking the city, with views of Saint Peter's Basilica. And the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is a small breakfast, with bread, yogurt, and coffee. It was just enough to start our day in Rome and keep us going until lunch. And the location is great - close to the Vatican and steps from a Metro stop.

Transport from the airport was arranged by Il Tesoro and that was great. Giordano was very helpful on first arriving and gave us some very useful information about the local area. ... The room had everything we needed and it was very private. Giordano made himself available whenever we needed, which was a great comfort. ... Il Tesoro allowed us to leave our bags and use the facilities later in the day as we had a late flight - this was a great help. ... No ... It's a great location, close to the Vatican and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, included, was very good and was prepared for and brought to us on the lovely terrace. A great way to start the day! It's exactly the kind of accommodation we were looking for in Rome.

Giordano carried our luggage up to the luggage lift and was very pleasant when explaining our keys, breakfast, our air conditioning unit, etc. to us. ... Giordano and Pino were great to us for our whole stay. We actually got pickpocketed while in Rome and Giordano was very helpful by calling our car company for us and giving us directions to the nearest police, etc. ... They allowed us to leave our luggage in their kitchen after checkout until we were ready to leave later in the day. Very helpful.

Our room was right next to the bathroom and we could hear people in and out--showering, flushing, etc. In Il Tesoro's defense, all of the walls in all of the hotels/B&Bs we stayed in while in Italy were pretty thin.
If you know that you will be heading out early, request to have your breakfast placed outside your door the night before. They did that for us, so we felt like we were getting our money's worth. ... The owners very very nice about accomodating our check-out since we had a very early train out of the city on our last day. We paid the day before and left the keys behind when we left. It was very easy and hassle-free. ... We wanted to go to a futbol game while in Rome and they had the tickets ready for us on the day that we arrived. This was an added service that I was not aware they provided until I emailed to ask them how we could get tickets, and they offered to get them for us. Very cool. ... The room and the service were very nice. The 'rooftop terrace' drew us to the property. I don't know that it is as much of a draw as the location itself. We were a 5 minute walk from the Vatican, so it was great to be so close that we could get up at a reasonable time to wait in all of the Vatican lines!

Staff gave thorough explanation of accomodations and facilities. ... Breakfast on the upstairs roof terrace was very nice; the breakfast pastry could be a little more substantial, and maybe add some fruit. View of St Peter's Dome really breathtaking. ... Host got up at 5 am to take us to the airport in his personal car for a rate lower than taxi fare. Giordano was very friendly. ... They speak Japanese fluently. I think both husband and wife would go out of the way to make a guest's stay comfortable. ... Friendly and efficient; well thought-out amenities in the room, including new furniture and emergency flashlight. Great location for proximity to Vatican but just as well for access to transit for all other Rome destinations.

We stayed at the Il Tesoro for a total of 4 nights on 2 different reservations. When we arrived the first time, we could not get an answer at the door. After about an hour Guardano showed up and apologized. It seems he was expecting us to tell him an arrival time. On the second stay we had the keys and had no issues. ... The Il Tesoro was a wonderful location. I would recommend this. It is close to a subway stop and very clean. The rooms were large and very clean. ... The Il Tesoro is a great place to stay. Manager not on site but someone else was (a guest) and he arrived within minutes (although we had already carried our cases upstairs). Manager could not have been friendlier and helpful, very nice room (perhaps bathroom not suitable for someone of limited mobility due to narrowness). Recommnded. Superb location just off metro line. ... Manager allowed to leave baggage at hotel and keep keys until we left, also arranged taxi to airport. ... Very friendly and helpful staff. on the directions, it would help if you could be a bit more helpful by mentioning that travellers should take the Metro lineA towards Battistini and get off at the stop called Ottaviano. The B&B is just 5 feet from the exit/entrance of the Metro station. We got off at Lepanto which is at the other end of the road and had to walk about 10 mins to reach our hotel. If you hav bags / luggae, the 10 mins seems very long.... ... The only surprise was that it was on the 5th floor of a building. We were expecting more like a ground floor entrance to the B&B; however it is very centrally located, in a beautiful part of Rome and the B&B itself is cosy and nice. ... definitely recommend it - it is so close to the Vatican that it is unbelievable. Also to get into Central Rome (Termini), Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, etc... is oonly 15 mins on the metro. Couldn't ask for anything more than having a friendly hotel in the most beauiful and picturesque area of Rome

POSITIVE: Il Tesoro should include that Metro Ottaviano is at few meters from the door of the hotel and should give us the précision of which exit we have to use. When we have many luggages it's would be good for us to know that instead of crossing the street.
... Good location, near Metro and Vaticano
Very clean, even with a share bathroom.
