We could not have asked for a better B&B, when we booked we were under the impression well it is only £30 a night per person so cant complain and in reality it was alot better than most £60 a night bed and breakfasts

We were allowed to leave our bags until the last minute which was really helpful as our flight was late in the day, we were running late and as a weekend didnt risk finding our own way to the airport so had the receptionist arrange a taxi which was great .

We were an hour late arriving but as promised we were met at the B&B. Everything was explained in full about our stay etc and we were then left to enjoy our evening.

Because we were a party of seven there were only three en-suite rooms so in fact we had the B&B all to ourselves, which was fantastic. We had front door keys so that we could come and go as we pleased. Carolina was brilliant, very, very helpful and also full of useful information we proberbly wouldn't have got anywhere else, she's a great asset to the Colosseum B&B.

The only problem we had was that when I booked our accomodation I assumed that I had paid for the accomodation, only to be told upon arrival that the receipt was for confirmation only. We had a great deal of trouble trying to get money out of the cashpoint machines from our debit cards, apparently this is a big problem for foreigners in Italy, most cashpoints only give money to Italians.

Could it be made a little clearer that you pay for your accomodation upon arrival and that it can be very difficult to get money out of a cashpoint machine in Italy. They do not give money from your cards over the counter, as we do in England.

So all in all a very convenient stay.

We used a taxi so found the accommodation easily. The receptionist was helpful and gave us her mobile number as well for any assistance. I would certainly use this apartment again as it is well situated and close to everything.

As we wanted to leave very early on the morning of 1st August, as we had a plane to catch, we needed to make contact to pay for the apartment but were unable to find anyone there. Carolina had that day off so we had to leave the money in an agreed place in the apartment. I rang her on her mobile to explain the problem and we agreed that was the best thing to do. She then emailed to say she had received it.

Perhaps you should include that someone is not living there and that someone is there only during working hours. However, this is not a problem as hotels usually have someone on the desk but not always.

An older style apartment with everything you need. I would have liked to have opened the front shutters but couldn't get them open. It is located right near the Colosseum and the train station and there are dozens of restaurants, internet, supermarket, cafes and other shops just a few metres away. It has a great little balcony which overlooks others back yards but is nice to sit out on a hot night. The apartment is quite small but serviceable. It has an updated bathroom but the hot water runs out if you have any more than a quick shower! I dont know how 5 people could shower there! But as it was summer, it didn't matter to us.
The air-conditioning is wonderful and it was great to be able to return to the apartment in the afternoon and have a rest in the cool weather. The kitchen could do with an oven however it is adequate.
We had tea making facilities and everything such as linen was provided. For the traveller who wants a base in Rome it is ideal as it is so easy to get to by Metro. I hope to stay there again.

There were only two concerns...
We had to ask for linen and towels....they were changed daily....
and the room was 'sprayed' with some kind of airfresher that was not very good....
I loved the location and the rooms... I will probably stay again at the same place...
breakfast was satisfactory.... and the price was good....

I did not see the 'fine print' regarding the payment... I thought when I had confirmation of the room with my AMEX card that it also had paid for the rooms.... it was not clear until I was asked for 'cash payment' that I thought something wasn't right. I had to look again at my email to see exactly how the room charge was covered...

An important detail for tourism : by pure chance, barely one hour before we left, and thanks to a friendly Roman, we discovered the jewel of Basilica San Clemente which is just round the corner. It would be well worth mentioning.

It should have been emphasized more that payment was to be made in cash only. It was almost a HUGE problem for us, as we assumed that we could put it on our credit card and did not notice the small sign. I think most tourists make the same assumption. We had to look for ATM machines the final days and 'save up' euros to check out with.

The service was very good. During our stay, only 2 of 4 rooms were booked. The kitchen is quite small, so if all rooms are booked there might be a bit of waiting time for breakfast.
We were provided with a free Roma tourist brochure that was very helpful regarding bus and metro lines.
Also, there is a small library with Roma tourism information and all kinds of magazines that guests left for others.

I believe this is the best place to stay in Rome for a couple of days:
- it is really very close to the Colosseum.
- the room rates are much better than average.
- Also, it is only 15 min walking from the main train station,
- and it is definitely really quiet at night.

The staff were extremely helpful. Several days we had to leave earlier than the scheduled time for breakfast and they arranged to have all the breakfast food and coffee available ahead of time. They also arranged a car to take us to the airport which was a wonderful experience.

Carolina organised a suttle for us from the airport which worked really well. She also waited at the B&B untill we arrived and then took time to explain the way to the Vatican which we wanted to visit early the following morning. We were really impressed

9. The service was very friendly and welcoming.
We were upgraded to a very nice appartment and had an enjoyable stay. However, the electrical plugs were a little loose and it was therefore difficult to obtain light from the bedside lamps. Also there were no spare light bulbs to replace those that were no longer working. It may also be time to upgrade the shower. We appreciate that this is probably not usually used by the B&B and we were very pleased to be accommodated in the appartment.

small room but fantastic location, perfect for a weekend in rome, a 2 minute walk to the colosseum and about a 15 minute walk to central rome, perfect for us. on the other hand if you were in rome for more than a week i think you would find the rooms small and might miss hotel features, like a bar and reception desk. the staff were really helpful, but not the b and b is not staffed all day.

Yes the accommodation was exactly as stated on the booking form, however the only comment I would like to make is that the windows in the appartment weren't very safe and we were concerned about the safety of our belongings. Also access to a safe deposit in the room would have been great.

We had a nice stay. The location close to the collosseum is very convenient. For roman relations the place is relative quiet.

The room was not ready. We left our bags, went and had lunch and returned after it was cleaned. This was long after the check-in time on the information sheet.

We had no hot water for the first day and night and were unable to have showers. Also it had been raining very heavily and was cold and there was no staff in the hotel in the afternoon and evening (until late) to put any heating on.
There was a lot of loud talking in the corridor outside the rooms until almost 1am - this was not fellow guests - it was either staff or other people who live in the building. It was very difficult to get to sleep with the noise

My guests and I felt that each condiments and food for breakfast were counted. One of the receptionist (not Beza)kept on telling us to not to make alot of noise knowing that we have a 3 year old and a baby. This receptionist told me 'I hope your baby will not make alot of noise tonight'. 'Do not disturb' sign on the door meant nothing to them.

Allowed us to leave our luggage and left us a key to collect the luggage well after the stated check out time. Very useful if your transportation out of Rome whether train or plane leaves late in the day.

We utilized their driver to take us from the airport to the B&B which worked out great, we highly suggest this.

It mentions that breakfast is included, however, I wouldn't consider coffee and a piece of bread as Breakfast. this was my only complaint that the breakfast was not adequate.

hotel offered us a 50 euro transfer to hotel from airport. we could have got this at a fixed 30 euro price from the taxi rank.

extremely good value and helpful, basic and clean place to stay right in the middle of rome. 1 minute walk from the coloseum. lots of good cheap restaurants very close by.

the receptionist/owner was truly wonderful. she was so polite & entirely welcoming. very friendly!

very quiet & private. clean for the most part ~dirty comforter. bathroom was too small ~husband could not even use the toilette comfortably.

Very nice and helpful receptionist who spoke english very well. We experienced when we tried to book accomodation elsewhere, that the language often could be a problem.

only one problem to report - there was no hot water on the night after we had arrived and no one on site to fix it due to some kind of fault. Not a good way to start, particularly after a hot day of sightseeing.

The rooms were not cleaned during our stay, but they may ahve been expected. The bathroom had had a refurbishment but it was an art to get to the toilet as the shower cubicle is in the way!
All in all good value for money and a fantastic location. I would use it again.

Comfortable room in a basement apartment, on the street at street level, so a little noisy.
Breakfast really just pre packaged bread/crackers, really not neccessary.

The room was not serviced while we were there which we had expected it would be.

The breakfasts were very basic - a croissant or dry toast out of a packet with coffee and jam or nutella. There was no butter, cheese or ham which we had understood were part of a Continental breakfast.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of this B&B. The others I travelled with felt the breakfast could have been better...Not necessarily more food, but just better quality. It was very minimal.

The check-in time was 11am but when we arrived our rooms were not ready and we were made to wait an extra 20minutes.

In all other Bed and Breakfasts we stayed in during out trip our beds were ready for us when we arrived but two of us actually had to make up our beds upon arrival.
The breakfast was not brilliant-simply one piece of bread with tea or coffee.

It should be made more clear that a representative will not always be at the B&B-we did find this strange especially as one evening we had a power cut and nobody was there to sort it out. Furthermore, the contact number left on the front door in case of an emergency did not work.

I don't think I would reccomend it, for the price paid, comparing it to other B&B in the area, I would expect a bigger breakfast and at least one person on the premises at all times.

We arrived very late at night - 1am as our flight was not in Ciampino airport until 12am. I had rang Colosseum B&B in advance to warn them of this as they do not live in the B&B and they were there to greet us

We had requested a room with a double bed. They took two twin beds, pushed the bedframes together and placed a double sheet to hold the two mattresses together, quite ridiculous really. Also, breakfast = tea/coffee and one croissant. The staff were all very friendly, but the actual bed and breakfast will prevent us from returning to this B&B.
