Great place if you know what to expect. The room was gorgeous, with a fabulous location. There were not, however, any amenities in the hotel. That was fine with us, because we were visiting Rome, and preferred to be walking around than sitting in the hotel. Also, the hotel was not cleaned daily, also fine with use, since we did not clean our own house every day. If you know what to expect, the room and the location are well worth the price. ... Like renting a quaint apartment in Rome. Great location, good price, cute room, no special amenities or service outside of room and breakfast.

The bathroom was exceptional. Marble, well-lit. ... Guests take breakfast at a neighborhood coffee bar on the corner. It was a highlight to start the day among 'locals'. On weekends (when the bar is closed) the receptionist brought breakfast to the room. ... Wonderful location in the antique district only a block off a major avenue and the Tiber river. Near Campo de Fiori.

I found the greeter charming and warm. A very nice welcome. ... We were a little unclear - as were other guests - as to which local bar to get breakfast. We went to the wrong location the first mornings but finally stumbled upon the correct one. That is the only thing we found that needed clarification. other wise everything was fantastic!! I would definitely go back and plan to highly recommend it to friends. ... Newly and tastefully renovated, very spacious, terrific location, great to have the refrigerator and eating utensils. Very much like staying at our own studio apartment. Great little restaurant right next door.

Well appointed, and well run - but maybe a bit on the expensive side for a B&B

The hotel was comfortable and well-located. The only drawback -- which will prevent us from staying there again -- is that there is a restaurant opposite the hotel in the small street which closes at midnight and guests linger outside afterwards, their voices echoing off the walls. If the hotel had insulated windows, that might make a difference -- but they didn't. ... Very pleasant -- apart from the drawback above.

The room was not ready for us, so we were told to come back in about 1 hour. We came back about 1.5 hours later and it was not ready. It took about another 30 minutes. However, the person preparing the room was extremely apologetic. It didn't take away from our overall delight with the hotel and location, however. ... We loved our room. Very clean and tastefully renovated. Loved the marble bathrooms and the exposed ceiling in the bedroom. The room was well planned with enough room for one person to bath and dress in the front area, allowing the other person to sleep in. The renovation was very well done. The breakfast was well presented. ... Also liked the small, empty refrigerator hidden away for extra water, etc. And, the hidden hot plate. ... A charming hotel tucked away in the heart of Rome. Room has lovely with exposed beam ceiling, hardwood floors, marble bath and wonderful soaking tub. Delightful continental breakfast. I liked the fact that it was hidden away. When we're in Rome again, we'll check with this hotel, first...

We arrived late in the evening so there was a note attached to the door to call. We ended up asking the owner of the restaurant next door instead and he kindly directed us to the key and helped us in. ... The property is very clean and has great character. It was in a good location and quiet as well. We would stay here again.

We didn't exactly following the published direction as we arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport. He knew where he was going. ... A very charming hotel. Quaint, rustic, quiet and ideally located. This was our favorite hotel of the trip. The breakfast, served at the 'bar' down the street, was superb. Again, our favorite breakfast of the trip. My only comment is that a hairdryer would have been a nice perk. I would not hesitate to recomment this hotel to others. In fact, we already have. ... We paid when checking in so we didn't technically check out. Only the cleaning crew were around when we left at ~8:00am. ... Quaint, rustic, quiet and ideally located.

1/We reserved a minibus for a AP-hotel transfer by e-mail via romeby.com. Nobody was on arrival at the airport!!! We had to take 2 taxis on arrival, whichs costs in total 140 euro. The minibus would have been only 85 euro. 2/The owner asked us to pay the whole stay on arrival, which is understandable from her part, but seeing our arrival-experience not so appropriate... ... The double rooms were OK, price, quality and location very good. The single room is very overrated (100 euro is too much for it, 65 euro = price of halve DZ would be more then enough!!!)
... I WOULD RECOMMAND THIS B&B FOR COUPLES, BUT CERTAINLY NOT FOR PEOPLE TRAVELLING ALONE....

We arrived at 9.30pm to find a note on the front door explaining that our time of arrival was unknown and that we had to call a mobile number. As we could not get a signal this was difficult, but a friendly shopkeeper made the call for us. It transpired that the key was underneath the mat outside the front door. This turned out OK in the end, but we had informed everyone of our flight time and approx. arrival at the hote. ... Please note that your voucher states Bed & Breakfast will be provided. We were not provided with breakfast at Relais Banchi Becchi. This was not a problem as there were plenty of cafes nearby. However, at this price we had expected breakfast to be included in the cost as stated on the voucher. ... A small, clean, spacious and friendly b&b in a quiet and historic part of Rome.

I got a little confused about crossing the street from Chiesa Nova bus stop. For me, It was easier to cross the street but keeping walking forward until Via Banchi Vecchi and then to the left. ... Roma was our third stop in Europe after London and Paris, and we can say that was our best stay in Europe. The place was quiet, very clean and new, and its location could not be better. We hope we can come back to Europe and spend a week in Rome in Relais Banchi Vecchi ... I tried to contact the owner of the Relais, instead of that I talked with her partner. I asked her if it was possible to take the breakfast earlier and book a taxi to the rail station because I have to be there at 8:30. In the morning, a staff person didn't know about my request but he helped us in a very good manner to get the taxi. ... I think its better to discover it. ... In fact I already recommend this place to a friend, he wants to spend a week in Europe, and I told him that in my next trip to Europe I will spend a week in the Relais Banchi Vecchi in Rome.

Although there was no registration procedure as you would normally experience in a larger hotel, we were greeted warmly by the two members of staff on duty and shown to our room which was clean and beautifully furnished. ... A jacuzzi was listed as being included in the room but was not in our room. This did not in any way spoil our visit. ... The hotel operated on the basis that we had keys for the hotel and our room and we free agents to come and go as we wished. This arrangement suited us ideally and we certainly have no complaints. When we did see any staff they were always helpful. ... Excellent location for a large majority of the famous attractions that are the eternal city. ... We have described the hotel to our friends and relatives as an ideal place to visit Rome and be central for the attractions and we have no hesitation in doing so.

There was no phone in the room for us to call home. Otherwise it was very comfortable and breakfast was wonderful! The location was great-covenient to all the major sites by foot or bus. The little grocery on the corner had yummy bread and pesto, and the pizza place was amazingly delicious. ... The bathroom was very spacious and attractive, as was the bedroom. (we stayed some places with TINY bathrooms!) There was ample storage for clothes in the entry hall of the room. ... Highly recommended-lovely.

Excellent. We're were given very useful information about how to get from the airport to the property. The owner even gave us information about how much the cab should cost. ... The Relais Banci Vechhi was a little jewel located on a small side street a short walk from the Piazza Navona with Bernini's Four Rivers statue and the Vatican. We had a wonderful dinner about four blocks from the hotel. Milena, the owner, was very helpful and attentive. It is a little difficult to locate or it may have just been the way our taxi driver took us, he had to help us locate the entrance. Once we checked in the staff were extremely polite and helpful. ... I suppose no matter where you stay in the heart of the city you will experience so noise i.e the motorcycles !!! ... The B&B organised a car transfer for us this service was immaculate and punctual. ... This is B&B is ideal for short stays in the heart of Rome. Great location for getting out and about and seeing all of the attractions. Provided you don't want a hotel reception and bar service this place is perfect, it is like having your own place in the city and therefore very private. The rooms can be aliite dark although there are plenty of lamps around the room. The rooms are very 'Italian' and immaculate. I would definatley reccommend this accommodation and would stay again.

We were unfortunately delayed by eight hours but we had the telephone number of our accommodation and called them. They then had to wait until 6pm for us to arrive (check in was before 1pm) but they were still extremely polite and helpful. ... The room was not quiet - very close to a busy road, plus scaffolding was erected on the building oppposite our room on our first morning and the workmen were very noisy. ... There was a problem with our booking - the Relais had us checking out a day earlier than we had booked - apparently this was due to a mis-communication from yourselves to our accommodation. We were allowed to stay for another evening and the other people who were due to check in were put in another property for one night. ... No - I think the website is accurate. Perhaps mention something about possible street noise? ... Very good - excellent sized rooms, good facilities, good location for what we wanted to do in Rome.

The only downside about the room was the amount of noise on coming in from the streets -- especially during the week. The street of the hotel connected to a major Corso and the traffic could get pretty busy and noisy. The weather was warm so the windows were often open. I assume if they were closed it would have been less noisy. ... That the location is close to a busy Corso. ...
