Easy access to the most popular sites in Rome city - by foot! when you have good shoes.
The place is not suitable for handicapped persons!

We have already recommended the place to friends and would most certainly return when we have the opportunity.
The place is clean, with excellent beds, charming and very well located and easy to find.

The hall porter let us in and was king enough to help with the bags. No other staff was present. There really isn't other staff. The owner , Elizabeth was at a family luncheon.

The room is large and airy with a bedroom loft and bath accessible via a cross between a ladder and a steep stair. The bathroom, the stairs, the lighting and the railings do not met standard (American ) building or safety codes. This room could not be rented in the US and I doubt that it has any official certification.

The breakfast basket consists of one plastic wrapped roll per person/per day with instant coffee, tea bags and butter and jam. The furniture is decrepit, dirty and uncomfortable and the wonderful space of the room hardly used. Huge tv which we did not turn on. The bath is too narrow to sit in and very difficult to climb into and the ceiling too low to use the shower. It's kind of a crouch and spray.The location was excellent for access to all parts of Rome.

REasonable for the location, but for very limber young people with no discrimination whatever. Has many unsafe aspects in the room and no smoke detector that I could see. Very gracious and pleasent people, great location, room needs work.

Ever stayed in Europe and wondered what the apartments are like behind those great big doors and through those courtyards? I did... until I stayed at the Ancient Trastevere B&B - a lovely little authentic Italian apartment in a great location with a garden view looking at to the Tiber. So much nicer than staying in a hotel and great to have your own freedom.

The staircase up to the bedroom would not have suited an elderly couple.

It was nice to have someone right there when we arrived who knew our names, was very polite and even helped us carry our bags to our room after a long train ride from Venice.

This bed & breakfast was exactly what we were looking for in the ancient city of Rome. It had the old world flavor of Italy with a very home-like feel and the best location! The customer service was great, helpful and accomodating to our needs. I would definitely stay there again. THANK YOU!!!!

You can't beat the price! Compared to other very pricy hotels we stayed at in other parts of Italy, we preferred Ancient Trastavere over all of them!

It was within walking distance of everything and we always felt very safe on the streets at night.

The pros: a fantastic location, a lovely hostess, and big space. One thing that doesn't come across in most descriptions is how genuinely cool it is. When I got here I just felt like I had come home, which is saying a lot. I would feel lucky to stay here again.

The directions were ok, but better directions would have been to take the 64 bus and take the first stop over the river. From that stop just walk South down via Della Lungara until you find the B&B.

It's not on a bus line exactly, but within 5 minutes walk there are bus stops. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the most major sites
