This is a very modern, upscale hotel. It is very small, almost 'boutique' like. The rooms are spacious and quiet and include all the amenities one expects from a 4 star hotel.

We took a taxi from the airport so we didn't need to know the directions. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and provided us with information about tours etc. We felt welcome straight away.

The complimentary shuttle to the airport was booked with ease and was there for us righton time. Staff recommended we check out and pay the bill the previous evening to save time in the morning and this worked perfectly.

I don't remember if the free wi-fi in the lobby is detailed on the website but we had no problem with it.
The taxi driver took us to the Hotel Amimandi so maybe that difference should be made more prominent. It was not a problem for us as we just walked up the steps and turned right but for some one with limited mobiity or even just a more luggage it might have been.

I have already described it as being very good. It is in a good location even though slightly out of the centre as the public transport is easy and it is an easy stroll across the bridge.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.

We loved Hotel Alimandi. It was extremely clean and pleasant, and the staff was uniquely accommodating, in our experience. When we arrived, we wanted to change some train tickets that we had arranged through Trenitalia. We planned to go all the way to the Rome Termini to do it, but one of the staff members at Hotel Alimandi volunteered to help us with it. He spent quite a long time on the computer working on our problem, which was quite complicated since we had not brought our 'access code' for Trenitalia. He used his personal code, and was able to make the changes we required. We were deeply appreciative, as his help made a trip to the Termini unnecessary for us.

We didn't appreciate how close to St. Peter's and the Vatican the hotel was. It is literally across the street from the entrance to the Vatican Museums. This was extremely convenient for us.

The staff called two taxis for us. Everything was handled in a pleasant and efficient manner.

Extremely clean. We stayed in another hotel at about the same price later in Rome, and it simply couldn't compare in room appointments or cleanliness. I loved the bedsheets at the Alimandi. They were very high quality and comfortable. I also loved the bathroom, and enjoyed the soaps and other little things that were provided there.

I would strongly recommend it. Our only regret was that the roof garden was not open at the time of year we visited. I might add that the breakfast also far exceeded what we found elsewhere.

We were told that we could pick up the shuttle at the airport at 2 pm. Called the hotel upon arrival and were told they could not say when the shuttle would be there - could be after 3 pm. Had to take a taxi to the hotel.

Unfortunately the shuttle service to/from the Airport does not run on Sundays, so we were left with the additional hassle (& cost)of getting from the Airport to the hotel.

We were made to feel very welcome and, though, our room wasn't ready yet, our bags were taken care of and the staff helped us organize our first excursion. Both Edwina and Elena went out of their way to help us and make us comfortable. Really excellent staff.

A clean, quiet, gem of a hotel just ten minutes from the action in downtown Rome. The walk home was breathtaking with St. Peter's Cathedral lighting our path home. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast hot and deliciuos, the staff curteous and fluent in English. I loved this hotel.

The receptionist kindly allowed us to leave our baggage whilst our room was being prepared. This allowed us to begin our holiday immediately. On our return our baggage was already moved to our room. The receptionist also gave us some tips on the various attractions in Rome.

Great hotel - Most enjoyable stay. Perfect location, close to plenty of restaurants and shops, short walk from St Peter's Square. Plenty of variety on the breakfast menu. Only one down side - would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. When I come back to Rome I will definitely stay here again and have recommended to friends.

An attractive hotel in a superb location Desk staff were very accomodating in obtaining Papal Audienze tickets for us as requested. The breakfast was sumptuous with a large array of dishes to choose from.
The room that we were allocated had 2 king size beds, spacious by Italian standards with a pleasant view of the Vatican Museum. I would book the Hotel Alimandi Viale Vaticano again without hestitation. Denise and Peter.

My wife arrived on her own at the airport, and the driver from the courtesy coach went looking for her at the bus stop at FCO airport. He was also very polite and helpful.

Highlight the bus transfer - saves money on taxis. The hotel is directly opposite the Vatican Museum - a major advantage for those tourists who need to join the Q's early. Also just around the corner from St Peters. Excellent location for touring the city as we walked from the hotel each day, and got the metro back. Great buffet breakfast.

Even though the airport shuttle wasn't there when we arrived, we called the hotel and sent the van immediately back. The driver pointed out certain points to us during the drive.

Ok, we booked a suite on the third floor and were in a bedroom on the second floor, and paid an extra 30 euros a night to do so. When my husband checked with reseption they said it was an ITALIAN suite, but it was disappointing. I also asked them to fix the bathroom door lock, but they never did, and we were told we could not use the dvd in the room as it did not have a channel on the TV, these things were a shame as otherwise we liked the hotel.

The Alimandi Hotel shuttle picked us up at the exact time and location they had arranged. We had a very nice airconditioned ride to the hotel. On the way we had a nice visit with two other couples headed for one of the two Alimandi Family Hotels. It could not have been a better start to a wonderful hotel stay in Rome!

The Alimandi Family are wonderful hosts! Our room at Alimandi Vaticano was very roomy, clean, with beautiful marble floors and elegant hardwood doors. The location is just 500 feet from the entrance to the Vatican Museum and Just a couple of blocks from the subway station! Mr. Alimandi and his Son gave us suggestions for wonderful near by resturants and help with the best ways to get to our many destinations during our stay. My wife and I have been to Italy several times, but, we have never had a better hotel stay! We spent 4 days at the Alimandi Vaticano before our Cruise. We will be back!

We arranged for a car to take us to our cruise ship thru the hotel! The cost was comperable to what we had seen on the Internet. We were pleasently surprised when we were picked up at the hotel by Mr. Alimandi who took us to the ship in the hotels very nice E400. We had a great visit on the way there. He knew right where to drop us off. The Alimandi Hotel was a great experience from start to finish!

This hotel is an absoute gem. Directly across the street from the Vatican Muesum, this excellent hotel is mpeccably run, the facities are great and the staff was so kind and helpful. They allowed us to check in early and get some much needed rest before our adventure in Rome. The breakfast is the best I have ever had, fresh eggs, bacon, pasteries, and even cappacinos at not additonal cost. The rooms facing the street are a bit nosiy, but when you first arrive and open your window shudders and realize you are a stone's throw from the Vatican walls, it really won't matter. Highly recommend, Thanks for a wonderful stay Hotel Alamandi.......

Lovely rooms - many pictures you see of other hotels make them look better than they are. The Hotel Almandi Viale Vaticano is exactly as described and shown. The breakfast buffest is extensive and offers a wide variety of hot and cold food - wonderful selection.

When we arrived at the airpor, we called the number given to ensure that the shuttle would come at 10 a.m. Since we were the only passengers, we were told to take a taxi and that the hotel would cover the cost. We did this and the receptioist paid the driver without question.We arrived early but were able to leave our luggage in a secure place until our return from sightseeing. We enquired at this time about a tour to the Vatican Museums for the following day and were told that they would take care of it, which they did. We were given good directions to start our tour of Rome and they even had bus tickets at the desk, available for purchase so that we did not need to go to a kiosk.

I expected a comfortable hotel, but found that the level was much higher than anticipated. It was all that the website said and then some. The hotel was spotless, and there always seemed to be someone cleaning and polishing. The room, a double superior, was very spacious, and provided everything that we could need, roght down to slippers! The breakfast was wonderful....a variety of food, well cooked and presented most attractively. The staff was most courteous. The daytime receptionist was very patient with all our requests and questions, and provided a great deal of information for us. All of the staff were pleasant when we encountered tham.

I do think that the website was pretty inclusive. The difference with this hotel is that what is stated on the website is not exaggerated! I don't know if our room was unusually large because it was a superior, but it was very spacious by European standards.

I have already told people about the hotel, telling them that it is a gem. Nothing is too much trouble, and for the money, they really do provide many amenities I would expect to find in a more expensive hotel. It is so convenient for the Vatican Museum complex and St. Peter's, and transportation to the other sites is very simple. As 2 females, we had no difficulty with the public transportation system, and we felt very safe walking back frrom the bus in the late evening.

Although check-in time wasn't until 1:00pm, we were able to store our bags behind the desk when we arrived at 10:00am. Then, our room was ready to occupy at 11:30am for which we were very grateful.

THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFULL AND FRIENDLY. They offer a nice shuttle to/from the Fiumicino airport, on a set schedule. They are very prompt so if your flight is delayed and you miss the shuttle, you either wait 2 hours for the next shuttle or you take a taxi.
They were expecting us and had our room ready. Paulo checked us in - very friendly, courteous. We did have an issue with the room key not working (yes, it was the key, not us. They have interesting key system where you hold the key a few inches from a sensor for recognition, rather than sliding it in/out to open the door); the key was reset and it worked fine after that.

This is family-owned by 7 brothers. They have a sister property on the street behind (on Via Tunisi) also called Hotel Alimandi and I believe it is one less star ratings-wise.

This hotel was perfect for our trip. Very clean! I was traveling with my mother and grandmother (both clean freaks) and they only had positive things to say about this hotel. In our room, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was new/modern (good water pressure), and it was larger than I expected. The breakfast had a great selection, staff was personable (making restaurant recommendations, and helping us with transportation to Civitavecchia port to catch a cruise). They also offer a shuttle to/from the Fiumicino airport (on a pre-set schedule).
We liked this hotel so much that we tried to stay here on our return, but instead were booked in the sister property on the street behind (Hotel Alimandi on Via Tunisi) which was nice but not on the same caliber at this hotel. I believe it's one star less, ratings-wise. Worth the extra money to stay on Viale Vaticano -- definitely recommend it.

We were able to avoid the extremely long line at the Vatican Museum (which starts forming as early as 7 a.m.) because the front desk worker told us to wait until 1 p.m. We were able to go right in without a wait. Our family of four from Chicago(including two teenage boys) stayed 5 nights at the four-star Hotel Alimandi on Viale Vaticano at the end of July. It was absolutely perfect in every way! It is very difficult to find a hotel room in most European cities that can comfortably accommodate a family of four or five (so in other European cities we have booked apartments), but the quadruple room we had was huge by European (and even American) standards! It was spotlessly clean with a modern bathroom, marble floors, individually controlled air conditioning, a mini-bar refrigerator, comfortable beds, large closets and free in-room internet access. Ask for room 305 (quadruple superior with two queen-sized beds) and you will even have your own terrace overlooking the Vatican Museum entrance (great for checking out the lines!).
The breakfast selection was excellent (hot entrees, fruit, yogurt, pastries). Mini-bar prices were very reasonable.
Definitely use the complimentary airport shuttle (Fiumicino airport only) as this will save you at least 40 euro taxi fare each way.
The location is excellent for the Vatican and St. Peter’s (directly across the street from the Vatican Museum entrance) but a bit further out from the main city center and attractions (roughly 3 miles to the Colosseum and 1.5 miles to Piazza Navona). However, we used the metro frequently (about a 7 minute walk to the Ottaviano stop) and when we were tired at the end of the day took a taxi back (10 minutes, roughly 9-10 euros from the city center). Even adding in the cost of taxis, it was less expensive to stay here than to book two (more costly) double rooms of lesser quality in the city center.
The area immediately surrounding the hotel is nothing special but nice for seeing how the locals live.
All in all, this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in, and was absolutely wonderful for a family.

We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel in general. The shower stall in the bathroom was a bit on the small side (and I'm a small person), but otherwise fine. They provided enough towels, and the bath towel was a nice big size. Also they were very generous with the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom; the slippers were a nice touch. I did have a slight problem with the room temperature (too cold) and I could not adjust it, the girl at the front desk turned off the fan to the room to take care of this.

We had two rooms, the room (105) on the street side was somewhat noisy from the traffic on the street. The inside room (201) was very quiet. I would book only inside rooms next time

Because we took the 7 AM shuttle to the airport, we inquired about bag pickup. We were told there was none that early but if we brought bags not needed down the night before they would store them overnight. We did this and it worked out fine.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, didnt expect the room to be so spacious. We booked a superior twin room and it had 2 large double beds that were really comfy.air con, mini bar and all the usuals and the mini bar was quite cheap aswell. Also one thing we werent told about was that you get free movies!you just have to phone reception and they will put on the one you choose and the fact that they have a gorgeous roof terrace.Breakfast buffet was tasty but you had to be down early enough or the food would go cold, that is the only complaint i have. Good location,close to a few good shopping streets e.g cola de rienzo and right beside the Vatican. short taxi ride to the main centre and they dont cost much either. I would recommed this hotel to anyone going to rome. really good value family friendly. there is a gorgeous restaurant around the corner called Perilli in prati, definitly one to visit.

The staff picked us up at the airport early after our call to the hotel. When we arrived, they provided us with coffee and breakfast even before check in. They allowed us to check in early in spite of their stated 1:00 pm check in. The staff was very, very nice to us weary jet-lagged travelers.

There was a misunderstanding about the on-request shuttle service - despite a confirmation that we'd get a shuttle at 10pm on Sunday. We ended up taking a taxi to the hotel from the airport & taxi had some trouble finding the hotel.

The room was lovely with a nice modern bath. My husband and I stayed in a double room and my sister inlaw in a single. The rooms were quite similar. Our 'shower' was really just a tub with a small open glass enclosure...it required some effort not to flood the bathroom floor. The bathroom slippers were a nice touch. The breakfast was huge...more like brunch. There was a table of hot food, a variety of pastries, cakes, and cookies, yogurt, meat, cheese, an assortment of fresh fruit, several kinds of cereal, juice and capuccino.
The hotel is located on the back side of the Vatican directly across the street from the entrance to the Vatican museums. Great way to get in line early and beat the crowds.

This was probably the nicest hotel I have stayed at in Italy yet. It is comparable to most nice hotels in the U.S. Of course, it is expensive. Although, after a couple weeks in Italy, it was worth the money to spend our last two days in a room as spacious and comfortable as this one. I would definitely stay here again.

- The room was not exactly as spacy as we expected (room had two separate parts).
- We had a nice balcony that we were unfortunately not able to use because of the cool weather in the evenings.
- The room, and the bathroom, as well as other parts of the property, were made of good-quality materials and very clean, which we find extreamly important.
- Breakfast buffet was good.
- Transportation to the airport was timely and worked fine. Good!
- Fresh flowers in the lobby all the time. Nice!
- In the beginning of our stay the bathroom was too warm, and the temperature was not adjustable. Towards the end of our stay the radiator was off, and we could not put it on. We would prefer adjustable radiator in the bathroom.

When we explained this to the staff they were extremely kind to us, organised check-out, got us a taxi for the airport, and only charged us 50% for the room for the night we missed. The room(Rm#304) we stayed was very nice but
the air conditioner was ON all day & night,
and we had no control over it. It was ok
during the day but too cold at night. (there
were 2 controllers but we couldn't turn the
A/C off.) The receptionist wasn't as helpful
