Everyone was helpful and very kind. The Hotel Alimandi was our last stop in our trip through Italy. We truly saved the best for last. I can't find words to express how nice everyone was to us. The breakfasts on the terrace were excellent as was the entire staff. Bravissimo!

I don't know how to describe how incredibly nice and helpful everyone was all of the time. If I had to guess, I would say it is a family run hotel because there is no hint of a corporate attitude.

Although we arrived at an odd time the hotel
employee came to the airport to pick us up
within 45 minutes. Very nice of them. Even
though we paid it was worth it. Saved time and
hassle.

There are great bakeries and local restaurants
and markets in the vicinity. All the hotel

exceptional.However if you want the lap of

A'alimandi - Well worth the price'
I chose this hotel for a one day stay following a Mediterranean Cruise based on Trip Advisor reviews. As some other folks have pointed out, there are 2 Hotel Alimandi, both are owned by the same family and within one block of each other. This one is the lesser rated of the two, but form my perspecitve I have nothing but good things to say. We arrived early and left our bags in the lobby while my wife and I went to stroll through the Vatican. When we returned in the afternoon to check in, we found the room to be spotless and a very large size bathroom with all the amenities one could want. One of the best things about the area is that it's away from the center of Rome and extremely quiet so you won't be bothered with some of the street noise as is reported for some of the other hotels. The staff was most friendly as was most of the people we met in Italy. On Sunday we slept in a bit and were going to go out for some coffee and the lady at the front desk called upstairs to see if there was still anything left from the breakfast and sure enough told us to go upstairs where we were met by Francesco who took care of us with a great big smile.
Definitely a place to stay.

This hotel has a free shuttle from the Rome airport and this is a definite benefit. The driver was very nice as well as the whole hotel staff.

This is a real jewel in Rome. The hotel is less than one block from the entrance to the Vatican Museum. It is in a very nice neighborhood with many very nice places to eat on very pleasant streets. It is only about three blocks from St. Peter's square, where you can get the tour bus that takes you around Rome, and from which you can get on and off at will.

The breakfasts with Francesco were definitely one of the highlights during our stay in Rome. In fact, we all agreed the Alimandi served the best breakfast of the three hotels we stayed in Rome, Florence and Venice

This is a small, family run hotel that is definitely worth the money. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is not the place for somebody expecting top-of-the-line accommodations (read, EXPENSIVE...) but is an excellent value for the money, and has charm, which is not found in so many of the larger chains.

The room was a bit smaller than I expected as we had booked a triple room. But I am sure that would be the same with any City Break - space is probably a premium - but it was a bit squashed

Over the last 5 years my parents from Wisconsin have stayed there, my sister and her husband ( S. Dakota) and now us (Colorado). I have four children and the hotel was great. The complimentary buffet breakfast on the rooftop is 5 star- Francesco is a character, makes everyone feel welcome and special, and he makes great cappucinos. It is nice when something exceeds your expectations and this really did!

It is beautiful, across the street from the Vatican. A friendly driver in a clean shuttle will pick you up and drop you off for free at the airport.
We ate dinner at several sidewalk cafes nearby and had great mahgerita pizza and red wine.
We felt like we were staying with people we could trust.

We arrived and found a parking space right opposite the hotel. We were given full assistance by Mr Alimande to unload our cases and take them into the hotel.

We had reserved a quad room for 4 people, but were given 2 double rooms across the hall from each other for the same agreed upon price. We had to modify our hotel stay because our flights got cancelled because of bad weather in the States, so that may have been the reason our rooms were changed.

We did not know that there were two Hotel Alimandis, one directly across the street from the Vatican Museum and another where we stayed a 2 minute walk away. It would be helpful if WorldBy let us know this. Paul from the hotel was very helpful with this and walked our luggage to the correct hotel immediately.

The buffet breakfast served every morning on their roof top garden was superb, much better than we had expected. The rooms were also at a higher level than we had expected for a 3-star hotel. We are even looking into purchasing some of the bathroom amenities they offered.

The Hotel Alimandi is very comfortable and friendly. It is filled with wonderful and unexpected little extras such as gleaming marble baths and a grand piano cafe bar! At our request, hotel family owner Katia graciously secured a tour bus to take us to the nearby Italian Designer Outlet for incredible shopping. Best of all, however, was the fantastic breakfast buffet managed by Chef Francesco, who greeted us warmly every morning with his fabulous cappuccino and pasteries!

I had to inquire about the free tour of Vatican Museum that was included in our online booking (off-season promotion). Later, we found out that we were actually the first ones to 'participate' in this promotion, so it was understandable.

They were extremely accomodating. They held our bags as our rooms were not ready (which we knew would be the case). They told us to go to St. Peter's square as the Pope would be doing his Sunday blessing. We appreciated that as we did not know about it and would have not gone had they not told us.

We were very happy with wour arrival experience because we were provided with a shuttle to the hotel. This really alleviated so many problems with finding cabs and paying for a cab. I gave them a call as they had asked and they came a little later than expected but did provide a nice comfortable shuttle that took a long time to get to the hotel because of traffic. I kept thinking how much this would have cost if we had taken a cab. Also, when we arrived I quickly engaged their shuttle for the next morning to the train station (we were leaving for Venice)of which they provided for a nominale fee. This again eased my mind and they were right on time the next morning. Shuttle service is a great convenience.

The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The best thing about the hotel was the convenience to the Vatican. Upon our arrival the lines to the Vatican were unbelievable, so we walked over to St. Peter's, where we saw the Pope (fortunate for us that day), then later when other friends arrived we walked past the Vatican (because of the convenience of the hotel)and there were no lines. We then were able to walk right in and go through without ever waiting in line. Our breakfast was great on the rooftop terrace. The only thing that we had wished for was that they would have opened for us at 7;00 a.m. instead of 7:30 a. m. because we had scheduled our shuttle for 7:45. Even is we could have had just coffee. It was a great stay, if only for one night.

Lovely- mid-price hotel amidst higher price choices. The location can't be beat( 2 minutes from the Vatican) and the accomodations -roof terrace with wonderful breakfast buffet ( incl.) while not grand were certainly ALOT for the room charge- I would definitely recommend it- found you from Rick Steve's guide. :)

Prior to our arrival we attempted to obtain directions to meet the free shuttle service, however, we were only given a telephone number to call upon our arrival, and only then were we given directions. This procedure required us to get change to use the telephone.
It should be pointed out that there are two Hotel Alimandi and their location and address.

Upon meeting our free shuttle the driver was very friendly and courteous. The shuttle was immaculately clean. Upon our arrival at the Hotel we were impressed with the friendly receptionist and staff who offered to help us with our luggage. The Hotel and our room were spotless.
Our breakfeast was included in the price of the room and the chef's name was 'Francesco'.
Our first morning we were met by Francesco and we were made to feel very welcome by him. It was like he had known us for a long time and we felt like a member of his family. We were certainly treated like a family member. His cappucino's are the best. The breakfeast that he presented to us was wonderfull, very nutritious and a good variety. We really looked forward to his breakfeast, he made our early morning activities a wonderful experience. Francesco is no doubt the best chef in Rome. His cafeteria is nicely decorated and very, very clean.

Hotel Alimandi, Tunisi is a wonderful place to stay. It is very quiet, essential for a good sleep, very clean, and very close to the Vatican Museum entrance ( depart the hotel, cross the street, go up 12 stairs and across the street is the Vatican Museum. It is in walking distance to Piazza Novona, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, St Peters Bascillica, etc. We walked to all major attractions.

As above. Highly recommend to stay at this hotel as the area is in close proximity to all attractions and safe to walk around. There are two grocery stores approximately two minute walk from hotel and there are about 6 restaurants within this area of the hotel ( maximun walk time 10 minutes to the furtherest restaurant) Our stay at this Hotel made our trip to Rome a most memorable one. Highly recommended to stay at this Hotel.

The fact that the hotel is so close to thew Vatican and Sistene chapel. We were pleasantly suprised when we walked up a set of stairs across the street from the hotel and were at the entrance to the Sistene chapel.

THe hotel was vewry nice, the staff was extremely helpful. The room was a little smaller than we anticipated. However most of the rooms were stayed in during our trip were similar in size. THe bathtubs are very high off the ground. Caution should be used were exiting the tub.

The breakfast buffet was interationally appealing - Canadian Style coffee service was available (bottomless) and buffet choices reflected our Canadian tastes (bacon & eggs). The breakfast service area was fabulous!
Luigi Alimandi - who oversees the food services impressed us deeply. He took time to get to know us and when he realized we were Canadian he played a Leonard Coehn CD over the system as it had been a favourite during his youth. We were deeply touched and impressed with his knowledge of our culture.

The location was perfect for the Vatican, a bit further for most of the rest. The room was good sized. The bathroom also was good sized, although the tub and shower were small. It was clean. The safe was not bolted down. It could have been removed, if someone wanted to take it. The breakfast was very good.

The fact that the free bus transfers are very limited and that it will cost you 50 euros to get from the hotel to the airport. The train and tram stations are too far away. The only easy way to get to and from the hotel to the main sights is to get a taxi or walk about 45mins.

A very basic hotel, a bit far away from the main sights that we thought. Staff were pleasant bt not overly accomodating. The fire alarm went off at 2am during one night of our stay. Nobody came to inform us what was happening. It was infact a malfuntion with the alarm. We received no apology or explanation. We had to ask what had happened.

Shuttle bus provided to and from the airport so no need to use the directions. This is a a great service that the hotel provides and it is included in the price.
There are 2 Alimandi hotels across the road from each other and owned by the same family - a 3 star and a 4 star. We were booked into the 3 star although our driver dropped us at the 4 star so took a few minutes to sort out with reception that we were in the wrong hotel. It didn't make any difference to us as the hotels are near each other and the 3 star was more than adequate for our trip and the staff were very helpful in sorting this out for us when we arrived.

The hotel was spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times. Upon arrival we were given twin beds instead of a double as requested but there was no problem in changing the room immediately. They were very helpful. The rooms are small but for the little time you spend in them they are more than appropriate. Also, we were over an hour late for breakfast one morning as we didn't realise the times but again they went out of their way to provide us with whatever they could given that the kitchen was closed.

but got confused, did not realize that 2 Amlimandi hotels were existing just a block across.
We thougt to have booked the other one.So that was a disappointment. But for the rest is was ok. This is a very confusing situation!!!!
