Everyone was helpful and very kind. The Hotel Alimandi was our last stop in our trip through Italy. We truly saved the best for last. I can't find words to express how nice everyone was to us. The breakfasts on the terrace were excellent as was the entire staff. Bravissimo! ... I don't know how to describe how incredibly nice and helpful everyone was all of the time. If I had to guess, I would say it is a family run hotel because there is no hint of a corporate attitude. ... Well worth it.

Although we arrived at an odd time the hotel employee came to the airport to pick us up within 45 minutes. Very nice of them. Even though we paid it was worth it. Saved time and hassle. ... We liked the hotel because it was only steps away from the real Rome. Not the tourist area. There are great bakeries and local restaurants and markets in the vicinity. All the hotel personal are family and they are exceptional. However if you want the lap of luxury this hotel is not for you. On the other hand, this is Roma at her best. ... They were prepared and our driver was ready to go to the airport. Hated to leave. We will return. ... The breakfast was better than I expected. ... Small room but clean, very cozy, very nice modern bathroom, priced right and across the street from the vatican. In walking distance to all areas.

Word for word the following is the review I posted on Trip Advisor.
A'alimandi - Well worth the price' I chose this hotel for a one day stay following a Mediterranean Cruise based on Trip Advisor reviews. As some other folks have pointed out, there are 2 Hotel Alimandi, both are owned by the same family and within one block of each other. This one is the lesser rated of the two, but form my perspecitve I have nothing but good things to say. We arrived early and left our bags in the lobby while my wife and I went to stroll through the Vatican. When we returned in the afternoon to check in, we found the room to be spotless and a very large size bathroom with all the amenities one could want. One of the best things about the area is that it's away from the center of Rome and extremely quiet so you won't be bothered with some of the street noise as is reported for some of the other hotels. The staff was most friendly as was most of the people we met in Italy. On Sunday we slept in a bit and were going to go out for some coffee and the lady at the front desk called upstairs to see if there was still anything left from the breakfast and sure enough told us to go upstairs where we were met by Francesco who took care of us with a great big smile.
Definitely a place to stay.

This was by far the most pleasant hotel stay we ever had in Italy. This family run hotel really does care about its guests. In numerous ways they tried to give us personalized service which, for the price, is a truly great value. The location is great, the care and attention to the guest is fantastic.

We expected a much more plain hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the comfort of the rooms. They were cheerful and well appointed, exceeding expectations. ... The hotel arranged for us to be taken to the airport for a very modest fee, which was very considerate. ... This is a real jewel in Rome. The hotel is less than one block from the entrance to the Vatican Museum. It is in a very nice neighborhood with many very nice places to eat on very pleasant streets. It is only about three blocks from St. Peter's square, where you can get the tour bus that takes you around Rome, and from which you can get on and off at will.

The room was a bit smaller than I expected as we had booked a triple room. But I am sure that would be the same with any City Break - space is probably a premium - but it was a bit squashed ... Again it is possibly that I am not used to City Break but I thought that €180 per night for such a small room was expensive. ... Very clean and very convenient for the Vatican, the Metro and generally getting around Rome. It was also very quiet (to sleep) considering it was so close to such good amenities.

We were very happy with wour arrival experience because we were provided with a shuttle to the hotel. This really alleviated so many problems with finding cabs and paying for a cab. I gave them a call as they had asked and they came a little later than expected but did provide a nice comfortable shuttle that took a long time to get to the hotel because of traffic. I kept thinking how much this would have cost if we had taken a cab. Also, when we arrived I quickly engaged their shuttle for the next morning to the train station (we were leaving for Venice)of which they provided for a nominale fee. This again eased my mind and they were right on time the next morning. Shuttle service is a great convenience. ... The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The best thing about the hotel was the convenience to the Vatican. Upon our arrival the lines to the Vatican were unbelievable, so we walked over to St. Peter's, where we saw the Pope (fortunate for us that day), then later when other friends arrived we walked past the Vatican (because of the convenience of the hotel)and there were no lines. We then were able to walk right in and go through without ever waiting in line. Our breakfast was great on the rooftop terrace. The only thing that we had wished for was that they would have opened for us at 7;00 a.m. instead of 7:30 a. m. because we had scheduled our shuttle for 7:45. Even is we could have had just coffee. It was a great stay, if only for one night. ... Shuttle service was right on time and so convenient for both arriving and leaving for the train station in the morning. ... Rooftop resturant should open at 7:00 a.m. for the convenience of people who need to get an early start. ... Excellent for close to the Vatican and St. Peter's. However, they made sure we were served before we left. ... An excellent value as it included a clean, well appointed room, nice facilities, polite accomodating staff, wonderful breakfast and free shuttle service to the airport. The shuttle service was the main reason we stayed there but were very pleased with everything else the hotel had to offer. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

I and my friends would most definately recommend it.
Thank you. ...
When leaving they made you feel that they had enjoyed having you as much as we had enjoyed being there. ... ... A beautiful family hotel, lovely atmosphere, and all as detailed on the internet.

The fact that the hotel is so close to thew Vatican and Sistene chapel. We were pleasantly suprised when we walked up a set of stairs across the street from the hotel and were at the entrance to the Sistene chapel. ... THe hotel was vewry nice, the staff was extremely helpful. The room was a little smaller than we anticipated. However most of the rooms were stayed in during our trip were similar in size. THe bathtubs are very high off the ground. Caution should be used were exiting the tub.

Cabbie did not pay attention to the address we wanted & dropped us off at the 4-star Alimandi. The hotel was very good at looking after our bags & getting us to the right location close by. Great idea to have maps available for tourists. ... I understand that the internet was either slow or down when we were there, but we were not using & not a problem. The room & bathroom were a good size. The decor was a bit tired in the room. We really appreciated the extra toothbrush/toothpaste as needed at that point. ... Went smoothly. The free shuttle to the airport is a great service. ... I think the best feature of the Hotel is the staff. They really made us feel welcome & were so helpful in suggesting how to get around to what we wanted to see. Another good feature is the shuttle service. ... I have recommended the hotel to a friend who is thinking of travelling to Rome & would recommend the hotel to anyone planning a Rome trip.

The breakfast buffet was interationally appealing - Canadian Style coffee service was available (bottomless) and buffet choices reflected our Canadian tastes (bacon & eggs). The breakfast service area was fabulous!
Luigi Alimandi - who oversees the food services impressed us deeply. He took time to get to know us and when he realized we were Canadian he played a Leonard Coehn CD over the system as it had been a favourite during his youth. We were deeply touched and impressed with his knowledge of our culture. ... Hotel Alimandi is a fabulous accomodation right in the heart of Rome. The rooms and services are so nice to come back to after a day of touring Rome. The Alimandi family is involved with every aspect of service at the hotel. This personal and friendly approach is also evident in the neigbhouring eateries and businesses which made the stay for our family of four perfect.

The fact that the free bus transfers are very limited and that it will cost you 50 euros to get from the hotel to the airport. The train and tram stations are too far away. The only easy way to get to and from the hotel to the main sights is to get a taxi or walk about 45mins. ... A very basic hotel, a bit far away from the main sights that we thought. Staff were pleasant bt not overly accomodating. The fire alarm went off at 2am during one night of our stay. Nobody came to inform us what was happening. It was infact a malfuntion with the alarm. We received no apology or explanation. We had to ask what had happened.

Shuttle bus provided to and from the airport so no need to use the directions. This is a a great service that the hotel provides and it is included in the price. There are 2 Alimandi hotels across the road from each other and owned by the same family - a 3 star and a 4 star. We were booked into the 3 star although our driver dropped us at the 4 star so took a few minutes to sort out with reception that we were in the wrong hotel. It didn't make any difference to us as the hotels are near each other and the 3 star was more than adequate for our trip and the staff were very helpful in sorting this out for us when we arrived. ... The hotel was spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times. Upon arrival we were given twin beds instead of a double as requested but there was no problem in changing the room immediately. They were very helpful. The rooms are small but for the little time you spend in them they are more than appropriate. Also, we were over an hour late for breakfast one morning as we didn't realise the times but again they went out of their way to provide us with whatever they could given that the kitchen was closed.
